1401  Other / Meta / Re: List of Accounts which Needs a Ban [ICO pumping accounts] on: January 20, 2018, 11:59:13 AM
Updated the thread with a few more accounts which are shitposting, bumping threads and most likely alts which talk to each other in the threads. If you also check their post history,it's quite noticeable how they have sequentially posted in one ICO which they are suppose to bump.
Temp bans for the first 2 and a perma ban for the third one.
Thank you so much! This motivates me to keep hunting for more spammers  Smiley
1402  Other / Meta / Re: Stop fake bitcointalk clones on: January 19, 2018, 07:19:23 AM
These are mainly bad. There is some good in them, though. They can be used as a sort of archive. Because of the scraped content, some deleted/edited posts may still be on that parallel site and so you can use that to potentially bust alternate accounts.
Think of it as if there was no Trashcan section and everything was available.
Correct. As I was thinking of the ways how these mirrors could be used  positively, didn't take me much time to figure out!
Here's a case where a sold account deleted their posted addresses from bitcointalk but it still existed on the above mentioned mirror which help me find their alts.Detailed connection mentioned here :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2544574.msg28452206#msg28452206

This is just one of the ways they can be utilised.

Are you planning to escrow funds ? The whole thing is a joke if no funds will be escrowed.

To start with,
Quote
development of a decentralized network

i.e. reject transactions that have an incorrect outward tx amount.
Don't go hand in hand. They're two opposite sides of the same coin.A true decentralised network shouldn't forcefully restrict the  fundamental features of a coin.

To clarify: if you, for example, want to have a decentralized coin/token and are using it in a semi-contained setting in the context of spending specific amounts at a store, what would be the best way to
a) secure the network without high costs
Won't the costs gradually increase as the network grows ? Even if you have a scalable modal ,at some point you'll face scalability issues because you just can't implement or know "how scalable" forefront.

b) prevent human error with transactions i.e. spend specific amounts of coins and/or "refund" in some way
Has  nothing to do with a decentralised network but yes such minimal features should be taken care of.

1407  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Request] Can someone create & fund a Bitcoin Wall of Fame website? on: January 18, 2018, 07:18:38 AM
The main question is, who will spearhead this project? We should have a reputable figure from the community to initiate the project to kick off the project. People will not trust some anonymous person from a online forum to start such an important project.
How does a reputable 'figure' matter ? Why do you think a reputable figure will always have the right views ? It's a logical fallacy.

Anyone willing to pitch this idea to some trustworthy individual, who might be in the mood to "Pay it Forward"? We just need one person to put up their hand and to say, I am willing to coordinate this project.
Again,a reputable person's opinion wouldn't really convince programmers, developers designers to dedicate themselves to the project if they have conflicting views on the same.As much as this project sounds community oriented, there shouldn't be one father 'figure' who's opinions will be always considered as right.

the important question is whose wallet address will be on the website for donation ? Trust is important mate.
Can use a reputed escrow or a shared wallet.

Bought a few LNC's and the account still says 'updatingLNC'.According to your telegram support I shouldn't have sent them from my Poloniex account.Fine, what about my refunds ? I still lost my ETH right ? I'm wondering how much of such amounts are lost everyday and are they even refunded ? I need to get my refunds if I can't get equal amounts of LNC's. Please process my request at your priority.

or come away smelling of curry at best.
That's Indians, not Filipinos Tongue

Being an Indian,I take this offensively.I don't eat curry ,neither shit on streets. I have a big Italian bathroom in my house which also happens to have a reserve of tissue papers for an year.Obviously,my family takes a glorious shit in the morning. That being said, I do agree most of the Indians smell of curry and shit on the streets.

^That's how you take jokes OP.

1416  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Telcoin: A scam project endorsed by Japanese Scammer Yacine Farouk[ James Lent ] on: December 28, 2017, 06:17:22 AM
WTF?
Over exaggeration much ? Don't push it.

You know how easy that screenshot can be faked? Get a second number and just that. OP is already an exposed scammer and after being exposed, he's trying to make other people look bad.
"Make other people look bad" ? James Lent is a proven scammer so I wouldn't be surprised if someone claims he has been upto some shady shit. Why are you defending him ?

Of course, James Lent is a filthy scammer but is there any concrete proof that the pictures of whoever is James? No.
And that statement only applies if the person associated is actual James and not some random turd from Japan.

Poor guy might have nothing to do with this and suddenly zazarb files a case against him.
Zazarb isn't an idiot and he will definitely do his homework before filing a case.
1417  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Holiday Bonanza Charity Raffle] Donations & Awesome crypto. 75/256 Spots Left! on: December 28, 2017, 06:07:26 AM
*Ripple Deposits

I'll suspend Ripple deposits for now as I have to lock up funds in several places to make this work.. I accept all other currencies listed in the OP though Smiley.
Damn, that's what I wanted to donate since regular bitcoin transactions would take up a lot of fees.Don't remove my entries just yet ,I will send in equal amount of eth or something.
1418  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Telcoin: A scam project endorsed by Japanese Scammer Yacine Farouk[ James Lent ] on: December 26, 2017, 11:44:47 PM
James Lent is a filthy  scammer indeed who has scammed more than 15+ Bitcoins on the forum.I will be happy if the dox you mentioned is true and we can hopefully pass on the same to Zazarb (who happens to lose 10+ bitcoins to james) hoping he can take a legal action if at all.

I sort of agree with the Japan thingy as it's written on his bitcointalk profile he is from Japan.
1419  Other / Meta / Re: List of Accounts which Needs a Ban [ICO pumping accounts] on: December 26, 2017, 11:31:56 PM
Banned (some temporarily, some permanently).
Thank you sir ! Smiley) It would be great if you keep looking here more often as that would motivate me to report more shitposters!

Okay i am going to piggy back ride on this, this is not ICO ban, but i feel there is no need to open new topic, there are a lot of spammers for local boards, something like this this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1211941

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1211941

(Not sure how to write Name(make it hyperlink). But as you can see they just use google translate and spam every local board
Definitely they look like copy-paste posters.
1420  Other / Meta / Re: List of Accounts which Needs a Ban [ICO pumping accounts] on: December 26, 2017, 04:10:06 PM
A few of these accounts ring a bell, and I believed I've reported a few of them multiple times. Even suggested they were bumping threads intentionally in the report. This was like a week ago, maybe two now though, seems they've continued to do so. I know that the reported posts did get deleted, but the moderator must have not agreed that a ban was justified at the time.
The time is now I guess, you can just skim through the post history of those accounts mostly one-liners and inclined towards the ICO's they're suppose to pump.I don't even know why putting a ban on pumping accounts isn't taken seriously yet.

I think it's unfair to the others to single out someone, because I know for a fact Mprep and Ninja (cyrus) does a lot of the deleting when I've reported a few posts. Hilariousandco does a lot of work to as we all know, but gets most of the praise due to him being the most outspoken of the moderators.
I'm not putting it that way,I'm sorry if it seems  it was portrayed that way but no I didn't mean to "un-credit" other moderators.I'm very well aware of Cyrus and mprep's contributions as well. It's just that hilariousandco is easy to approach when you need an immediate action (and that's my personal experience so I could be wrong)
