1462  Other / Meta / Re: Turning your post history into word clouds! on: December 10, 2017, 07:03:49 PM
Interesting !

The first thing that comes to my mind is,why don't you open-source such projects ? We all can work on it together ! Having said that, this could be transformed into a useful tool that helps us find out shitposters in a way.Looking forward to your ultimate goal.Cheers.
1463  Other / Meta / Re: What are we going to do about the Shitposters? on: December 10, 2017, 06:40:33 PM
Another tough way of  doing it  : Instead of allowing signatures for only premium members, let it done by case by case basis. For instance, once a member signs up ,he can request for a signature approval once in 6 months. If he gets rejected,he basically cannot have another request for the next 6 months. If someone thinks they're good enough, they can ask for approval in a common signature board where mods/admins can grant the access.Involves too much manual work from time to time.
1464  Economy / Reputation / Re: Looking for thread URLs suspected of signature abuse on: December 10, 2017, 06:28:59 PM
Is the process of fetching data automated over a network or you are doing it manually ? AFAIK ,theymos has recently activated cloudflaire again which is blocking all the bot network calls that is originated from the scripts.
Either way,I could help you if you need any technical expertise in terms of code/data.

I'm really interested to see what you come up with.
1465  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 100 BITCOIN BOUNTY FOR THE HACKER WHO FIND FOOTBALLCOIN TEAM on: December 10, 2017, 06:12:20 PM
we dont have 100 bitcoin, we will rely on your information but if you find the info we will collect, when we have location , its done, there will be multiple verification before we send a team there , but if your info is right, youll be paid, they have way more then 100 bitcoin
So this bounty is completely based on assumptions and the money that you don't have.I don't know what action you will be taking but from this post I can make out that won't be legal since you are also doing what they did.Had you mentioned you will pay the investors back or report them to the cops, story would have been completely different.

You know what, even if someone sends you their correct information,he will never get his bounty since you will tell him that his information was fake.
1466  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [APP] Crypto Quiz ... [Android] on: December 10, 2017, 05:48:20 PM
I don't want to sound rude but do you really think this game would be actually used by people to  earn bitcoins or test their knowledge ? I like the business model that is I'm sure you'd be taking some bitcoins to show hints but don't you think the concept of game itself could be improved ?
1467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My brother killed himself because of BTC on: December 06, 2017, 10:54:24 AM
Contradictory to the title, this incident didn't happen with me but found the post on  r/Bitcoin.I do feel bad for him and his brother, may his soul rest in peace.Just posting here to let you all know take care of your loved ones, don't let bitcoin/money your reason of existence.

Quote
I don't really know where to post this but I feel like I need to vent.
Do not take this as criticism of Bitcoin, blockchain technology, or cryptocurrency users & developers, it's not.
There are probably other factors that led to my brother's suicide, but he had been beating himself up over Bitcoin for the past several years to the point where he seemed constantly depressed over it and gradually became a shadow of his former happy self.
He claimed to have owned 15,000 at one point, which may have been an exaggeration. But I know for a fact that at some point around October-November 2012 he did have at least 6,000 BTC which he showed me in his wallets. He was so enthusiastic about Bitcoin and how cryptocurrencies would revolutionize the financial world. For awhile he was annoying the fuck out of our relatives about how it would make them millionaires.
I'm not sure exactly what happened to his BTC. Sometime in 2013 he claimed to have lost most of them in a hack and sold the remainder too early. He very well may have sold them all too early, but who knows.
As the price took off in late 2013-early 2014 you could tell he was distraught over it and became increasingly withdrawn from family and friends. Whenever I did manage to contact him he would sometimes end up ranting about how badly he had fucked up and how he would never have a chance to be rich again.
As the price climbed up to 10k over the past several months it became even more difficult to make contact with him, he just wouldn't reply to me or my parents calls and texts. A couple weeks ago my parents flew out to see my brother and found him dead by suicide with no note. He was 29 with 50 years of life ahead of him.
Other than obvious grief I don't really know how to feel about this. If I had missed out on $50M I might have killed myself too. I can't imagine what my brother must have been feeling these past several years knowing he missed his best & easiest shot at the wealthy life he had always fantasized about. Bitcoin totally fucked up his mindset to the point where you couldn't talk about anything related to investing, money or finances without him storming off or crying.
If there's any more of you in a similar situation feel free to PM me. Please try to recognize there are endless economic opportunities in life and 1 mistake doesn't define your future. There are family and friends who care about you and will listen.

EDIT : Read the thread guys,it's not my brother,Please stop sending me your condolences.
1468  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can't we make recaptcha like solution based on cryptography & blockchain on: December 06, 2017, 10:48:35 AM
So now on topic, do any of you know captcha solution better than recaptcha and based on cryptography or blockchain? I know about coinhive proof of work captcha but is this secure to use in sites?
There aren't any at the moment. There is always a room for the project. The only problem is not many sites would want to adapt to the blockchain based solution because default captcha just does the job.Maybe in the near future crypto related projects would admire your solution. We all know the pain of google captca and I hate  it.
1469  Other / Meta / Re: access to account lost on: December 06, 2017, 10:44:00 AM
i have read that...

but which address should i put? i dont have bitcoin address on that account,,, should i use a random address? but,,, why should i send a signed message? it is not fair for my privacy
How else are you planning  to prove that you are the real owner of that account ? I could say I'm the owner too and how exactly would you believe me ?  Lips sealed
If you have your personal data which can be used to prove your identity then we can verify that but since anonymity is a huge concern for people here, signed messages are a way to go.
1470  Economy / Reputation / Re: ZEBPAY-INDIAS Leading Bitcoin Exchange on: December 06, 2017, 10:40:37 AM
How is Zebpay the largest trading platform for Bitcoins in India, what sets it apart from other coin exchanges ?
Leading my ass - They are the worst scum on the planet when it comes to Bitcoin  Exchanges.I have no idea why every average Indian has their app in their mobile phones when they have good options around. For that matter, you are looking for a loss if you are keen on using Indian exchanges. The service fees is enough for the founder to feed his family along with his neighbours for an year or two..
1471  Economy / Services / Re: [SERVICE]Bitcointalk Posting Service on: December 06, 2017, 12:30:43 AM
Left you a negative feedback for providing a service which operates as a group of individuals to pump the threads.I do not encourage such behaviour. You will only end up pumping a thread with posts from multiple accounts. If I find the accounts involved,I will negative tag all of them unless you decide to lock the thread.

I can not understand what is the benefits of this service. Please make me clear about the benefits of your service? Is it needed for a company or individual?
Pumping ICO threads to make them stay on top of the main thread.
1472  Other / Meta / Re: [Forum Ads] Administration's Stance on Misleading Information. on: December 05, 2017, 02:14:34 PM
The second one however says "bet 0.01 ETH and win 70,000 ETH", this is misleading and a lie,
Definitely!
All adds along the same lines which come on the television are also followed by a sub-heading that is "Terms and Conditions Applied".Same should apply here.I believe these add banners are approved by theymos before integrating it in the forum's add space. If he is okay with it,you can't really do much.
1473  Other / Meta / Re: Can I use 2 account same device? on: December 05, 2017, 02:08:18 PM
I use my bitcointalk account from my device. But my friend can use his bitcointalk account from my device??

"My Friend" -- {Laughs like Jimmy Carr }

I don't know what does device imply here but I hope you're not talking about a 'mobile phone' because normal people don't share their mobile phones with their friends.Speaking of privacy, how can you share same computers ?

To answer your question : Yes you can use two accounts from the same device as long as your're not spamming, shit posting, scamming or farming accounts.
1474  Other / Meta / Re: Make Stickies Stand out? Suggestion on: December 04, 2017, 03:25:59 PM
Well we have seen many threads being created on daily basis on topics which are covered in stickies, most of them by the newbies, this increases spam on the forum, One of the reason i believe is that the stickies don't standout. With all these icons being thrown around in every single thread title, it doesn't makes much sense for the newbies, what i am suggesting here is that their colour should be changed to something which will standout instead of which blends in with the forum theme. Would like to hear your thoughts on this.
1.Why changes are still bring suggested on this forum ? Aren't we suppose to migrate to the newer version already ? It's almost 2018.

2.The problem is not the stickies entirely,English could be it.The users creating redundant threads if you have noticed ,are mainly non native English speakers so even if the read the stickies,I don't  know they will understand it.

3.People love tl:dr versions over the paragraphs.
1475  Economy / Services / Re: need someone to fix my website on: December 04, 2017, 02:02:01 PM
i need someone who very reputable here fix my website. its a small job and i dont have big budget.
pls leave me your contact in pm so i can contact you
Very nice signature you have there.I was going to help you out for free since I love programming and you can't afford much but I shouldn't probably care because you hate certain type of people on this planet.Be nice to people man,you never know who will help you when. Also please don't contact me with 'sorry' messages.
1476  Other / Meta / Re: Unsolicited Pms on: December 03, 2017, 08:34:21 PM
Instead ,make a bot that spams their telegram channel with 5000+ messages per day. That would make them realise how does it feel to get annoyed.
Reporting the PM to Cyrus would only help for the time being, they will come back again with another newbie account to do the same.Let machines deal with the machines.
1477  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] What do you think of the forum's usage of reCaptcha? on: December 03, 2017, 08:31:21 PM
I feel like it's a great system. It keeps the bots away from easily mass-spamming us.
On the cost of authority by google.I don't like my  time being wasted by google. Why would I spend 20 seconds of my precious time to prove I'm not a bot when I'm really not.I don't know rant isn't gonna help but just saying since you asked.

reCaptcha can be solved easily & quickly. Although it sometimes says correct answers are incorrect, if you use your brain, you should be able solve them correctly most of the time.
Brains ? Let;s way for a day google asks you to solve complex logarithms in the specified amount of time to prove you're a human.

I saw that some people say that it's very buggy whilst using terrible internet, but I feel like there's more wrong then, as I come across horrible internet all the time, in restaurants, on vacation, etc... And until now it has always worked well.

Of course, it would be nice if it was possible to choose an alternative that works well for everyone and I'm completely in for that, unless it has disadvantages for people that are currently not experiencing any negative side effects from the reCaptcha.
The best alternative is to control that from the server side.
1478  Economy / Services / Re: Crypto Wallet Recovery Services on: December 03, 2017, 08:27:49 PM
We can recover any lost funds for any cryptocurrency. If you have lost money online due to bad investments contact us. We are offering free trials beginning in January 2018. We will recover your lost funds.

-Backend
Beware of such fraudulent services which claim to recover your wallets. They will take private keys from you and you will basically have too forget the funds forever.Only way you can make this happen is to escrow the same amount of money in your wallet to be recovered so if the recovery process is successful you can expect the service provider to give your bitcoins back to you.
1479  Economy / Reputation / Re: stealing my signature design on: December 03, 2017, 07:32:45 PM
Like this case. Hope that user get painted in red also. Too many lazy people nowadays doing copycat. They do have their brain but seems lacking power to produce some creative juice.
This is the duty of a signature campaign/bounty manager to make sure the ICO is using proper resources which they have rights to use.Things like signature,Ann threads can be easily copied so the bounty managers should confirm from the ICO team that the resources being used are legit.
Worst case,if someone points out that something is stolen, campaign manager must put  a pause on the campaign until new resources are allocated.
