1761  Economy / Goods / [SOLD] LOT of pre-1964 US coins on: December 30, 2012, 10:04:14 AM
Hi everyone,
I'm the kid every guy at home living in their parents' basement is trying to pick a fight with. Why, I don't know. I've completed about 20 transactions-all went 100% perfectly except for a particular one I'm sure you've seen on the boards. So-do or don't do business from me, but please don't harass me. I already have gotten plenty of that and can't figure it out. Call me crazy but I'm not going to front anyone my entire scrap coin collection.
I have:
1 x Peace Dollar
6 x Washington Quarters
38 x Silver Dimes (Eisenhower, Mercuries and a few Barbers)
I am asking 10 BTC shipped for the lot. As the new year starts more and more people are going to start buying tangible assets, and silver is probably the most practical and financially within-reach of them all.
Anyways, if you want the lot, perfect. You send me the BTC and I'll have your coins in the mail same day.

1762  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: An example of why you probably don't want to waste your time on "johnniewalker" on: December 30, 2012, 09:53:01 AM
Are you serious? Great job taking things out of context. I offered to send you 4 x .625 silver coins with payment on receipt-hence the "testing the waters". And you are delusional if you think someone would feel more comfortable just sending you their stuff, without any third party (escrow) involved. You really are an idiot. I have no idea why you decided to pick on me.

Yes, I am sure all transactions on this site are monitored, and thus subject to all trade rules and regulations of the United States.
I'm fucking sick of this. This is literally the last post I leave.
The buyer knew these were the first ingots I ever made. In order to ensure this EXACT thing didn't happen, I sent along a half-dollar which I noted would cover the coins even if they all turned out to be of .925 purity. I even asked the buyer to tell me the results of the assay. God I wish a record of sent messages was kept on here.
I made it right from the beginning, sending the coin (why would I have sent the half-dollar if I was confident the bars were .99?)
Upon the buyer saying he wanted to "return" the bars I offered 1) to send him a silver quarter since apparently melting .925 silver yields .80 silver. I'm STILL waiting to see the results of that assay. And I 2) offered to remelt all of the bars, let him keep the half dollar and quarter, and make him a single .925 ingot. He rejected all of these. He said he wanted MARKED silver or gold even. Therefore his argue of "Its about purity, not silver content" is bullshit.
I have yet to see anything even proving the buyer got the metal assayed. I have seen no results and not even a receipt!
The buyer thought he found a great deal on silver ingots from a NOVICE (he was well-aware these were the first ingots I ever casted) silversmith and that he could turn around and sell/trade them. Hand-poured ingots are a long-term investment, however.
So-considering all of my attempts to go above and beyond and above all a LACK OF ANY PROOF on his part, I will not refund this buyer in any way. Mods have agreed to block him from my future posts.
I will continue to offer things for sale on this site and look forward to many pleasant transactions with repeat and new customers.
1766  Economy / Goods / Re: Before a disgruntled customer says anything...Check Now! on: December 29, 2012, 09:17:59 AM
The basis for your argument the entire time has been that you don't care about silver content, but rather purity. You purchased .99 silver from literally someone brand new to melting silver-if you've bought and sold bullion for years as you claim, you should have doubted the purity of the ingots. However you never asked me how I made them AT ALL. So you were in the market for .99 silver, saw my n00b listing and bought it to profit from. BUT soon you realized it was harder to trade than minted silver.
So you wrote this on December 20:
"[after a proposition: "Sorry but no. Needs to be a mint bar/round or 90% pre-64 us coins. Gold works too"
African Hunter did not care about Silver in .99 form-he just wanted silver that he could turn around and easily sell.
Summary: You knew little to nothing about silver, besides the fact my listing was a great deal. You got your ingots and were happy with them for a while. Then you supposedly got them assayed and they were under .99 (why don't you upload a copy of that receipt, by the way?). Also, you realized hand-poured silver is much harder to sell than silver in any sort of minted form.
There it is everyone. African Hunter is everything I have claimed him to be. People who have been on my side-thank you. Others, first of all, are a bit foolish in that "African Hunter" never presented any real evidence. But you have just been straight up mean for no reason. Yeah its the internet and thats how shit goes, but when it tarnishes an important reputation it becomes harmful. I loved this forum initially. And, I've done business with plenty of good people. I don't know if its for fun or what, but I don't know what the hate is about.
1767  Economy / Goods / Re: Before a disgruntled customer says anything... on: December 29, 2012, 07:27:11 AM
I'm pretty sure the guy paid for .99 silver And received .80 silver. 2 completely different products. He's understanderbly upset.

After viewing this pathetic attempt at customer service ill NEVER purchase ANYTHING from you.

I hate dealing with know it all uppity 18yo kids, and so do most people.
Actually its not physically possible he got .80 silver from me. Did you see the assay results? Why don't you share them? You guys have been pals since the beginning of this thread. I have no idea what my age has to do with anything. Its pretty simple. I offer something for sale, you buy it or you don't. If its not as described, I make it right-as I did with your buddy.
1768  Economy / Goods / Re: Before a disgruntled customer says anything... on: December 29, 2012, 05:40:06 AM
Just don't worry about him, you gave him too much. If you have any other problems with him let me know and I will send my assassins to make him love the ingot he bought from you and pay you a little extra just because he was so happy about it! : ))) Just kiddin'
Appreciate it. If anyone reads through this whole thing they'll understand whats going on. African Hunter bought the first ingots I ever made (and he knew that), and I worked hard to first get the scrap to a temperature where the silver melted and the alloy didn't. And to compensate, I added a ton of silver shot. Truth be told I did believe the ingots were .99. But just in case they weren't, I decided to include a Barber Half Dollar. That would make up for silver content even if ALL the ingots were 925 instead of .99. The "I will make it right" was before I decided to include the Barber-that was making it right.
About a month after the transaction (and after African Hunter had left me positive feedback) he comes back saying the assay results show the silver to be at 925,.9 and .8 (impossible because my torch doesn't get hot enough to BOIL silver and thus melt it off). Of course he had no literature, nothing to scan and show me (wouldn't you think an assay includes that?)
Of course I said no returns, that transaction was over and done with. He still got a great deal on silver and got more than what he paid for since I threw the Barber in as an insurance policy to avoid this exact scenario. It turned out the "alleged" (important word) lack of silver was about $5 worth. He already had that silver as part of the insurance policy that was the Barber, but I offered him a pre-64 quarter.
This wasn't good enough for him. He wanted silver in the form of either silver coins or minted bullion. Translation: interestingly this all coincided with the drop in silver prices. He wanted to take the great deal on silver he got from me and make money off it. But, he realized you can't trade homemade ingots like you can minted ones. So he was out of luck.
Anyone who reads this can form their own opinion, but that's what happened. And ask yourself-you see how many pages this thread is, how much time "African Hunter" has spent trying to get no more than $6 in silver (which the quarter I offered him would have done). It should be plain to see.
I am REALLY tired of this issue but feel like I have to keep posting on this thread to defend myself from the way "African Hunter" takes messages out of context (I did say I would make it right-before I decided the way I was going to do that was adding the Barber Half) and just provides examples that are entirely unlike this issue.
Just know that if you're a customer of mine you get whatever it is you pay for. I have started filming the making of my ingots so issues like this can't arise in the future. There are plenty of good people I've traded with on here. People whose back I have and will vouch for, and people who will do the same for me.

Can't resist,

"Just know that if you're a customer of mine you get whatever it is you pay for." (Unless I decide that our deal was good enough as it was, even if you demonstrably didn't get what you paid for).

And you keep trying to push the idea that this is about me trying to make a quick buck and failing(I have only bought bullion for the past decade, haven't sold a single ounce of silver or gold).

I could care less about a few grams of silver, I would wager my watch is worth more than your car. I do care about a seller giving his word on something then weaseling out when he is shown to be wrong. I will be sure others know it as well.

Evidence of this is the fact you have tried to sell fake items on here more than once (cohibas, my bars, and wasnt that coin you were trying to sell also spotted as fake?) and gotten caught, only to say, whoops my bad. Either you are a terrible businessman, a scammer, or at paint chips as a kid (I am guessing a mix of all three).

Dude, you went to Tijuana and bought "genuine" cohibas, tried to sell them here for genuine prices and then when someone posted they were fake your answer was "oh, I thought they only sold fake ones on the street carts, not the super shady shops lining revolucion"

You fail at this and you will fail at life because you are old enough to know better but don't. Do yourself a favor and just embrace your terrible business sense; then apply for a wage slave job at McDonald's. your bank account will be better off for it
You got what you paid for and more. What you bought and paid for was Silver. You were WELL aware that these were the first ingots I had ever made (maybe a newbie with a mapp torch isn't as consistent as the US mint?). I gave you more silver than you paid for, and offered even more. I highly doubt you have been buying and selling bullion for years-HIGHLY doubt. And cool about your watch, although its highly relevant, I don't think its worth more than my car.
I have offered fake/replica/counterfeit, whatever you want to call them, goods on here. Every single one I have marketed and put in the subject line "Fake/Replica/Counterfeit/etc.". I discovered the cigars I was selling were fake when a user pointed it out, and I promptly changed the post. Everything I have done on here is 100% honest and I can look myself in the mirror and say that.
One last question for thought: If you have been buying and selling bullion for years, why was it that you bought my first ingots wherein I PROMINENTLY advertised that I was a n00b and expected them to be .99 pure? Even I see-after a matter of months-that purity that high can only be achieved by a mint.
One more thing for thought. Does this look interesting?
We can work this out, I am not going to "bash" you on the forums at this point unless we cant come to an agreement. If you are unwilling to make good I will just make a thread telling my side of it.
Those words were typed by you. Instead, you put some BS in your signature about how I don't do honest business and are the first one to comment on my posts, harassing me and leaving rude comments.
We are done. Mods have agreed to block you from my posts in the future.
1769  Economy / Goods / Re: [VIDEO] Me melting Silver and casting an ingot on: December 29, 2012, 03:09:36 AM
As I listen to you hopefully beat this bar in another tab of my browser...

Do yourself a favor.  Get these videos off of the internet as soon as humanly possible.  If you haven't realized yet, reputation is everything in this community.  This isn't doing you any favors if you haven't already figured it out.

Your best bet at this point is going to be selling to people on Ebay who are clueless.  Keep to calling them 92.5 and get yourself some freaking testing acids.  Just because its stamped or hallmarked doesn't mean its really 925.  STOP relying on that.  Put a DEEP gouge in it.  A drop of acid, that will cost you about $5 for a bottle of it, and then you KNOW.

If you feel the need to video your ingot then keep it simple.  Use your sander to put a dent in all the scrap first, then video each of the drops you put on the stuff.  All the stuff going in the crucible... etc.  Stop the commentary, its not helping.

All of this sanding, hammering, etc.  Seriously dude.  So much time, your not making money.  You could buy and sell and not touch the stuff and make more money!!!

I'm not trying to hurt ya dude - Its great you wanna have a little thing going, but think about this stuff from how it looks from our end.  If you have a tough time with evaluating that, ask a friend or family member!!!

Who are you? Some Silver God? I'm keeping that video on YouTube for its instructional value-if one person can learn one thing from that video, its worth leaving it up. There are some people I have established a relationship with on here, and they buy my silver. But I have realized that largly this is NOT the market for homemade ingots. I'll continue to offer silver for sale, but not in the form of hand-poured ingots on this board. A combination of trolls (Mr. Jizz in his pants), vengeful customers, and people who know nothing about melting silver is a bad combination. Do you really think I don't have the "acid" you're talking about? And what do you mean "don't stamp it, put a DEEP gouge in it"-uhh thats what stamping is. You want to help me with the next one I make, Hercules?
For one thing, I enjoy the process of melting down silver and making ingots. And you know what's even better? I make money doing it! Who are you and how the hell would you know what kind of money I'm making? No lie, I have sold a 1oz 925 ingot for $40.
Thanks A TON for all of your incredible insight. Oh, and PM me your number so I can call you next time I need to stamp an ingot.
1770  Economy / Goods / Re: [VIDEO] Me melting Silver and casting an ingot on: December 29, 2012, 02:59:30 AM
look how stupid are you ppl. I understand he advertised some5thing as .99 and it didnt turn out to be .99 but he sent an extra 50 cent peice which would cover any discrepency he also offered up another quarter. i mean come on he mad a mistake and he fully went above and beond by providing way more silver then what the customer payed for. the customer is just bitching bc he cant make mad money off the ignos bc there home made its was his choice to buy such a good /wsome deal.

i could see if the seller was trying to cheat the guy and say you got what you got but he didnt he gave more then enought to cover any problems that might of occured.
God, thank you so much.
If you people are arguing on the basis of "its not about the amount of silver, it is about the purity of the silver marked on the bar" then you can go to the hardware store and stamp a 2 over the 9 and add a 5.
Because thats how I did it-with at home equipment. The stamp isn't even deep. If you are so concerned, sand off the extra 9. In addition to everything else I offered, I told the customer that I would be happy to melt all of the ingots and ensure purity of .925 and create a larger, single ingot for him-with the appropriate marks.
If you really think the stamping of the bar means anything you're wrong. This was a "made at home" ingot. Someone could melt just coins and put a .999 on the bar and you would never know.
Long story short: I'm not a mint, so it doesn't matter.

They are .625 silver with a recorded weight of 14.5, though all but one of these coins weighed more.
Doing the math, 14.5 x 4 x .625 / 31.1 = 1.17 Troy Ounces of Pure Silver
I will ship anywhere in the US for free. I will ship internationally for an additional fee. PM me if interested.
Thanks!

Well, you could assay each of your bars (at least the larger ones) at a nearby pawn shop/jewellery shop which provides a simple printout before selling em. That'll  keep problems like this out.

PS: I've deleted your reply at someone else's selling thread advertising your own products. Please do not do so at the future as it's considered OT and a bad form of sales disruption.
I apologize. I think I know which one you mean. Its not a common practice but it seemed relevant so I threw it in. I'll refrain in the future.
1775  Economy / Services / Free Escrow on: December 28, 2012, 06:25:19 AM
[MODS: please block "African Hunter" from this post.]
As I find myself with more free time, I'd like to give back to this site and its users as well as build-up my trustworthiness. I've already done I don't know how many transactions with users, and all went perfectly except for one. The user in that case I believe suffered "buyer's remorse". I'm sure you can find it, read through it and assess my trustworthiness. Also you can find plenty of good feedback (even by said user..hmm) on here.
Its pretty basic-I set up a wallet and the buyer sends coins to that address. I then notify the seller the funds are there and they send the order. The seller can provide me with tracking info at this point. Once the buyer receives their order (according to tracking if it is used), they will have 24 hrs to confirm that everything is as it should be. If the buyer receives the order and does not confirm, funds will be released to seller after the 24 hr grace period. If any buyer/seller with to go through me for escrow, please PM me the following:

SELLER
1. A one-sentence description of what the item is.
2. The price agreed on for the item.
3. The Wallet Address you want funds sent to.
BUYER
1. A one-sentence description of what you understand the item to be.
2. The price agreed on for the item.
3. The last four digits of the address the funds are coming from.

Once I have these, the buyer releases the funds. I will notify the seller. The seller will then ship. They will provide me and the buyer with any tracking info. 24 hours from the point it shows the item arrived, funds will be released to the seller, unless buyer confirms during grace period; therein funds will be released immediately.

Thanks
1776  Economy / Goods / 83.81 Gram 925 Silver Garlic Clove for Sale! on: December 28, 2012, 05:35:38 AM
[MODS: "African Hunter" banned]
Hi everybody,
Up for sale I have probably the most unique silver item ever offered for sale on here. It is literally a solid 925 Silver Garlic Clove. It was made some years back as part of a collection-I believe they made other silver fruits/vegetables instead. The year was 1994 if you want to check. There the piece is for you in the pictures. I made sure to take one of the 925 Hallmark. It is somewhat tough to see, but definitely viewable. In person its not hard at all to see-my camera just isn't very high res. This thing is 83.81 grams. That makes it 2.7 ounces of 925 Silver. I will send it [shipped] to anyone in the US for 6.1 BTC. If you are international the base price is 6 BTC, then we have to calculate shipping.
Forget bullion thats round or in a bar-grab this unique piece.

1777  Economy / Economics / Re: [CHART] Bitcoin Inflation vs. Time on: December 28, 2012, 02:13:20 AM
Eventually that little line on your graph will level out. Once all BTC are mined and in the hands of bearers, inflation will be impossible because the amount of BTC is FINITE!
1778  Economy / Economics / Re: You Know Whats f**king Sad? on: December 28, 2012, 02:11:38 AM
I'm definitely not an economist, but everything you say is how I would have said it. It all comes back to the basic principles of economics: unlimited demand w/limited resources. We value the dollar because of its scarcity. We value $50 more than $1 because accumulating $50 is harder to do than acquiring $1 is. We value the dollar because it is our country's (USA) system of currency, as imposed by the government.
The thing is, though, that with currency mandated by a non-federal agency and backed by absolutely nothing, there is an inevitable crash that will take place in the future, as inflation has made it as such that a $100 bill will literally be worth only its utility; maybe one asswipe or something. No one can argue that our system of money, the dollar, has been in a constant state of inflation. Unless something is done, this inflation will continue until dollar bills are worth only their utility; not much seeing as they are a small piece of paper.
Like I said, I'm not an economist. PLEASE point out any flaws in my argument. This is something that perplexes me, and its so simple. I can't believe people aren't running around rioting!
On the other hand, what is a BTC? A series of digits. BUT, once all of the BTC out there are mined, they are mined. There will be no more bitcoins created. Thus, inflation is impossible in a BTC market.
Like I said, please point out any flaws in what I have said, but it seems so simple to me that a fiat type of currency is the only one that will work over an indefinite period of time.
1779  Economy / Economics / Re: A really tough question on: December 28, 2012, 01:56:29 AM
I think this was the original source of the information I opened the thread with (ironically on this forum): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=128502.0;topicseen

I feel like kind of an idiot for not realizing that video was a couple years old, and they certainly aren't increasing the amount of $1 coins they make. But, they are still producing $1 coins.
This just seems interesting in the face of any talk that the penny/nickel/dime will disappear.
So, does that just mean that any talk of the aforementioned is just that; talk? Have there been any official comments regarding the end of the penny/nickel/dime?
1780  Economy / Goods / Re: [VIDEO] Me melting Silver and casting an ingot on: December 28, 2012, 01:28:28 AM
I'd like to see the two skeptics there produce anything silver. And the only way to get the alloy out of 925 silver definitively is w/the use of acids. There's copper, zinc and a couple others in there. Maybe one day if I continue to pursue this I'll make .99 rounds. But now, with the equipment I have (purchased from Home Depot for $50 and about $10 worth of stuff from the Grocery store-thats right everyone, I'm not the US Mint), I'm going to stick to 925 bars. Its pretty easy-just buy the scrap and some shot, throw em in the crucible and find a suitable mold-which is also not easy. I don't have the money to buy big professional graphite or cast iron molds. I think that what I produce considering the resources I have is pretty good. And so do people who have bought from me on here and elsewhere (with one exception I don't care to mention).
