1861  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 oz 2012 Silver Canadian Maple Leaf *Bottom Dollar* Photos Added!! on: December 12, 2012, 08:10:09 AM
I have a lot of 90% US and Canada silver as well.  Along with some copper wheat pennies.

I'm really losing money at 2.55, unless BTC goes up considerably more, which I can't bet on.  If I can have all of the Maples shipped by Friday, I'd take 2.7BTC/per+shipping.  This offer ends soon though!

Thanks.
I can do 2.6 and I'll tell you how you can ship it for less than $2 with delivery confirmation.

1865  Economy / Economics / Re: You Know Whats f**king Sad? on: December 10, 2012, 08:34:18 AM
I'm sorry but I haven't the faintest what you are on about, your post isn't coherent enough to really convey anything. Better luck next time.
Alright, apparently I have to simplify it for you.
Before Eisenhower eliminated the Silver Standard, every $note represented a certain bit of silver. If you had $5 you could go to the bank and get $5 in silver (as in silver certificates).
Now, our (USA) currency is tied to NOTHING. Literally it is a piece of paper. What gives things value? Utility and scarceness. Obviously dollar bills don't have much utility. But they have a certain degree of rarity. However, the Fed Rsrv can print as much money as it wants, causing inflation and making $1 worth less.
Bottomline: only FINITE forms of currensy work (gold, silver, etc). Our money system is INFINITE and therefore gives way to inflation.
make more sense?
I understand your view of fiat. Others have this view as well.  You may be right, you may be wrong (regarding your assertion that "only FINITE forms of currency work"), only time will tell.

What I don't understand is what you meant when you said: "First of all, the need to create Bitcoins. But even more than that-bitcoins are tied to the USD."
I was referring to the need to create a P2P form of currency. And by "tied to the dollar" I meant we assess btc at their USD value that day. Its not like we think of them in units of gold or something.
1866  Economy / Goods / Re: If there are any beer connoisseurs on here... on: December 10, 2012, 01:18:55 AM
This is right up my street, However the street is thousands of miles away  Sad

good luck to it tho, Will the winner post how it was?

which one are you interested in? we could work out a deal. assuming you are 21 or older Fed Ex allows the shipment of alcohol.
1867  Economy / Goods / Re: If there are any beer connoisseurs on here... on: December 10, 2012, 01:18:02 AM
You can buy it online for $11, so why $36 tag?

The company is on batch 5 now. Batch 3 was highly praised, thats why I bought a bunch of bottles. Also, aging these properly adds a lot of value to them. A bottle of Supplication aged 1 year goes for about $50 at beer auctions.
1868  Bitcoin / Project Development / Website Developer/Partner needed ASAP for solid BTC site! on: December 09, 2012, 05:07:40 AM
I am looking for a website builder/developer with some expertise (showing me some sites you have created works as a resume for me). I have a solid domain and an even more solid plan for the sight. I'll handle the business aspects of the site and its operation and you could deal with tech stuff-a 50/50 partnership works for me.
I'm about as serious with this as I have been with anything else in my life. This opportunity is golden, but it has to be taken NOW. Looking for somebody else just as motivated as me.
Please PM!
1869  Economy / Goods / Re: If there are any beer connoisseurs on here... on: December 09, 2012, 04:58:08 AM
Awesome. If you really do want to try it and you end up liking it there's another one the company makes, "Consecration". Its good but I prefer this one ("Supplication"). I don't have any of the Consecrations aged, but the company ages them before they sell them anyway, so you can drink it when you buy it.
Oh, and @ the person who said you can't ship alcohol: You can through FedEx. You have to declare it, show you are 21, and the person its going to has to prove they're 21.

I got one more to offer you guys. Its made by a friend of mine every year, around January/February. Its called "Orange Monster". Its definitely the most unique beer I've ever tasted. Its almost like a liquoer-but it still maintains that hoppy taste. And yes, the label is correct. It is 19.3% alcohol. My favorite way to enjoy this one is with some cookies and cream ice cream-dump it right on there and make a float. It sounds weird at first, but think about it-it sounds awesome. Beer on ice cream. This is from last year's batch. I doubt anyone will be interested, but just in case theres some enthusiast out there who wants to give it a try I'll offer it at 2.6 BTC shipped (its a 22oz). Something to see anyway!

1871  Economy / Goods / Re: If there are any beer connoisseurs on here... on: December 08, 2012, 11:14:35 PM
How have you been aging it? Letting it sit at room temperature on your shelf? or actually aging it in a cool, dark place at the right temperature?
In the cabinet right next to the freezer (nothing else in there) on a rack I built, angled down so the cork stays moist.
1872  Other / Beginners & Help / soo n00bzor on: December 08, 2012, 11:05:35 AM
this is so n00b, but what do [WTB] and [WTS] in posts mean?
1873  Economy / Goods / If there are any beer connoisseurs on here... on: December 08, 2012, 10:28:42 AM
If you are what the Subject said, you should already know (from pictures) what it is. In case someone isn't a "connoisseur" but is interested in a finer beer, this is the one. Its called a Sour. This one has a sour-cherry taste.
The beer itself is aged in used wine barrels for over a year, to capture the taste of the wine. This company (Russian River Brewing Co) is based out of a small town in California, and all of their products are hard to find. I have been aging this one myself for about 8 months. Now it is at great drinking time. Notice it is batch 3, bottle 10. I thought that was really cool. I think they MIGHT be making batch five, but batch 4 is gone.
Anyways, treat yourself or someone who likes beer (everyone). This would literally be a great X-Mas gift: its not too expensive, its truly "nice", and it shows a personal touch.
I am asking 2.8 BTC for this bottle. To give you an idea, it was $15 when I bought it, and aged ones go for multiple hundreds of dollars (check).
Hope to hear from some of you soon.

1875  Bitcoin / Project Development / Looking for site builder/partner (domain name, idea of type of site) on: December 08, 2012, 08:15:10 AM
Hi all,
I'm looking for an experienced site builder. I would expect this site builder to be familiar whatever platform it is a professional web site runs on these days.  I have a solid domain and business plan. I don't want to reveal too much on here, but if you fit the bill and are interested please message me. I am not necessarily just looking for someone to create a site for me. We could run it collectively and be partners. All of that we can work out, but if your general interest is captured please PM me.
Thanls

1878  Economy / Goods / Re: [SOLD] 1933 Gold Indian Head Coin: EXACT copy - I thought it was real. 0.5 BTC on: December 07, 2012, 06:27:21 AM
Too bad you didn't put this on Bitmit as an auction. You *may* have got much more for it.
I've seen trade listings for copy coins made in China so this may be where it originated. They are very cheap in bulk if anyone has ideas about sourcing these.
Seriously? Even disclosing that they aren't real?
I guess you're one of these guys who believes the US govt has the right to control everything on the planet. Fuck that.
Are you referring to me? Did you look at my signature at the bottom of each of my posts? I'm about as Libertarian as it gets. I was just asking if the things went for so much because people thought they were real gold or if they knew they weren't real gold but wanted them anyway. I don't know how you gathered an assumption on my beliefs on politics from that post!
My mistake then. I thought you were referring to it being dangerous to sell replicas nowadays, especially more so for faking legal tender. (I'm assuming that in 1933 they didn't actually mint a gold coin since they were confiscating it. But I don't really know about that.) I didn't notice your signature or I would have been more confused. I think someone would have paid more even knowing it's not real gold. Not that much more, not like it was actually worth anything, but it's probably not that easy to get one and that usually makes the price less dependent on any real value. It makes a great ironic conversation piece when you want to talk about gold confiscation.

Cool, thanks for settling things. Yeah I don't know the full story on the Gold Indian Head coins. I know they came in a lot of denominations, but I'm not sure who minted them. They're worth more than spot though, that I know. As far as "replicas" go I have a good connect in China. I actually email the factory owner. You wouldn't believe what kind of stuff they pump out. And its true-its almost like its an element of Chinese culture to have pride in making good fakes.
