1841  Economy / Goods / Re: More hand-poured ingots coming... on: December 14, 2012, 08:18:13 PM
Look it up. I couldn't find it in a web search, but jut do an image search for "Silver Garlic". They were made in the 90s by Crate and Barrel or something. There's more for sale all over the Internet going for spot. I thought the same thing at first though too. Sorry if I sounded rude there. If anybody wants a silver piece of garlic, let me know and I won't melt it. Otherwise it's silver garlic>ingots.
1842  Economy / Goods / Re: More hand-poured ingots coming... on: December 14, 2012, 07:41:24 AM
You do realise that could be worth far more in that form than in ingot form right? You should probably take it to an appraiser and see what they think of it first.
no offense, but you know I'm not an idiot?
1843  Economy / Lending / Seeking loan of 7.5 BTC: 9 BTC in less than 30 days (after Christmas) on: December 14, 2012, 07:29:12 AM

1844  Economy / Goods / More hand-poured ingots coming... on: December 14, 2012, 04:01:59 AM
I just won this solid silver piece of Garlic for a good price LOL

Wish I knew the story behind this thing. Anyway, going to be making more ingots soon, I got about 5 ounces of .99 to work with so if you want a custom size or purity or anything let me know. Also have professional mold now, can't wait.

Thanks everybody, the number was 66. I'll be doing the same thing next week so look out for my post!
Also, the winner has not responded yet. If he doesn't by AM I will pick the next closest number.

You got it exactly. It was hard for me not to say anything earlier! Thanks everybody, I'll do one next week too.
1848  Economy / Lending / Re: Just throwing this out there: get your investment back in SILVER on: December 13, 2012, 08:15:40 PM
11.68X$32.38=$378.19

And its selling for 223.89 CAD

That's a good up-mark of ~+$150

Exactly. Although its not quite $150. Spot price for silver is always expressed in troy ounces, considering a .99 purity. I doubt this person measured in troy ounces (1 ounce=about 22 grams, 1 troy once=about 31 grams). And what they have is not .99-its a mixture of .925 and .90. I noticed too in one of the pictures a nickel. Now, from 1943-1945 the US govt needed nickel for the war effort, so they minted nickels in silver but only 40%. I notified the seller about this and am expecting them to lower the price. Then we can really figure dollars and cents.
1849  Economy / Lending / Just throwing this out there: get your investment back in SILVER on: December 13, 2012, 07:02:20 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm not even sure I want to ask for a lone because I don't know if I can commit to it. If you check my profile, post history, etc. you'll see that I refine silver. I usually work with scrap jewelry (925) cause its easier to refine than coins (90), but I can do coins. There is a post on bitmit for scrap that I could refine A LOT of silver with. I can do bars/rounds in any weight, any purity-including .99. I just got the custom mold set and crucible I've been waiting for, so I'm equipped. I don't have the 17 BTC that the auction is going for. What I can promise someone if they want to lend is that their investment would be well worth it-I could refine that scrap into professional .99 bars in ANY size. Here is the auction: https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/11264-silver-scrap-lot-331grams-11-68oz-sterling-and-90
What's in it for me? For one thing I enjoy melting. And I would probably take an ounce or so for myself. Because for one thing, refining this would require a lot of silver shot, which I have to supply myself.
If anyone is interested please PM me. Time is limited because its an auction.
Thanks
1850  Economy / Goods / Re: The Cutest Little Silver Bar You Ever Did See 1.26 BTC OBO on: December 13, 2012, 06:27:13 PM
I have done business with him as well and he was quick with payment and communication was smooth.  Will do business in the future with him.

Dalkore
Love how this site community works. Dalkore is the man-don't hesitate one second buying/selling to him. Got one of my favorite rounds in my collection from him.
1851  Economy / Goods / Re: The Cutest Little Silver Bar You Ever Did See 1.26 BTC OBO on: December 13, 2012, 06:07:09 PM
That's a very nice silver bar you have, but how is it considered 'cute'?
Lol well its only 1.5 inches long. Its like a mini bullion bar. Currently being used as a paper-weight.
1852  Economy / Goods / Re: The Cutest Little Silver Bar You Ever Did See 1.26 BTC OBO on: December 13, 2012, 06:04:40 PM
Fast/Reliable seller here. Have bought from him and would do business with him again
Thanks a lot. Great buyer here, too.
1853  Economy / Goods / The Cutest Little Silver Bar You Ever Did See 1.24 BTC OBO on: December 13, 2012, 05:18:27 AM
Up for sale is the cutest little Silver bar you ever did see. I have my new crucible and some scrap-I was waiting on some .99 shot from ApMex to do the melting. But, I'm not the most patient person in the world, wanted to see how the new crucible worked and just use my blow torch lol.
So, what you have here is 18.32 grams of 92.5% (NOTE: this is not .99, its .925 aka Sterling Silver). Silver closed @ $33.707/troy ounce (31.1 grams). This bar is 18.32 grams. Multiply that by .925=16.946 grams of Pure Silver. At today's spot price that means it is worth $18.02 (let me know if I messed up on my math).
I think this is a cool thing to have. For one thing, it is Silver lol. I'm going to make more of these same size bars to give to friends/coworkers for Christmas. It definitely makes a good paper weight (very dense)! I think they're the perfect gift-cool, thoughtful, useful and valuable!

Considering MtGox, the BTC is @ $13.6. That would make this little guy 1.32 BTC.

HOWEVER, shipping with me is always free (so long as you're in the US-if you're not I'll charge $2 USD to ship)
VERY IMPORTANTLY: This price is not set in stone. It was just something I did for fun. We can make a deal w/price (highest bidder), or I'm into almost any barter/exchange option. So, if you have an offer, please PM me!

1854  Economy / Goods / Re: SOLD! [REDUCED 5%].99 Silver Below Spot (Seriously) INVEST ! on: December 13, 2012, 12:10:29 AM
I'm a hobby silversmith and this is correct. Another impurity is carbon from the torch, but the borax acts as flux. it makes sense to me.

Even if his technique is bad and he does carry impurities in, it seems that his process still guarantees you the right amount of silver. He is taking 1 oz of 92.5% and adding in .075oz of 99% shot. This guarantees .99oz of silver. If the weight is over, then the extra weight is from impurities but it doesn't matter as you have the same amount of silver.

Thanks. The weight is over primarily because I overcompensated on the shot, to ensure purity best I could. I got an inquiry about these ingots-they are SOLD, sorry. I check the marketplace everyday for someone offering scrap silver, I have some new molds and want to get back to melting!

That's right! I've built a site that will profile a different Bitcoin business each week, and allow users to buy one of the business's products at a special price. I've paid for the premium Google AdSense package, so this baby (and your business profiled on it) should show up in any search even roughly relevant! I am still developing it-I want to add more features to make it more interactive.
But this is the deal-I'll be posting here and throughout bitcointalk.org. The Bitcoin Business that comes closest to the number between 1 and 100 that I'm thinking of will be the first profiled on the site! So, if you have something you want to sell and really get out to people, post a number 1-100! I'll announce the winner tomorrow (Thursday) night!
