1901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 05, 2013, 12:38:04 AM
Failover is set, but it never switched pools.

They could be orphaned.  If you really did find a block, regardless of whether it was orphaned or not, it will show in the transactions tab.

If you get tired of solo-mining, you could always point that hashing power towards my pool.  We could use a little help Smiley
1902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / [ANN][TAG] TAGMining.Com is now the official pool of Tagcoin! on: November 04, 2013, 08:02:51 PM
TAGMining.Com - The official pool of Tagcoin!

Claimed by Tenice- The first person to find 20 blocks total on the pool will be rewarded with 150TAG!

WEEKLY JACKPOT SYSTEM- outlined in the post below!

PPLNS.
Pool site chat room for logged in miners.
2% pool fee to cover costs and weekly jackpots.
VARDIFF with max difficulty set to 512.
Standard 200 confirms to payout.
Minimum 1TAG for auto-payment.  Auto-payouts on confirmed balances happen every minute for fast payouts!
Stratum on port 3333.

I will personally pay out 20 TAG to the first block finder, 5 TAG to the next 4, and then 2 TAG for the next 5.  These rewards will be paid when the 10th block is confirmed, so if you found multiple blocks I can pay you in one transaction.  *EDIT- Finder's rewards have been claimed, the payouts can be viewed on post 26 of this thread.*

If there are any issues, please let me know so I can correct them ASAP.

1903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 04, 2013, 06:35:44 PM
I'll go ahead and post this here before I make a [ANN] post.

TAGMining.Com mining pool is now up and running.

I won't blow smoke... it's a pretty standard pool, nothing new... just giving people options.

1% fee.
Standard 200 confirms to payout.
LP & stratum
Server located in San Francisco, CA, USA.

I will personally pay out 10 TAG to the first block finder, 5 TAG to the next 4, and then 2 TAG for the next 5.  These rewards will be paid when the 10th block is confirmed, so if you found multiple blocks I can pay you in one transaction.  I will be looking at how feasible it is to reward the block finder with a little extra TAG.  mmcFE offers it now in the configs, so I might just implement it in the future.

I started a litecoin pool a while back, but never really gained any following.  I figured I'd test this out again and see where it goes.

I'm open to all community suggestions if the pool is successful.

Let me know how it goes.  If there are any issues, please let me know via PM so I can correct them ASAP.
1904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 04, 2013, 05:35:39 PM
Next question: When I solo with BTC daemon, I have to specify a payout address. For TAG, since it's using the qt gui, will it simply know to use the address I have defined in TAG?

Any blocks found and confirmed will be credited to the tagcoin-qt address.
1905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 04, 2013, 05:33:48 PM
i fire up QT with -server, and the GUI loads. Port 10500 can be telnetted into and it's looking for json/rpc connect stuff. cgminer can't connect to it though.

Although it's not the problem, if you set the .conf file with server=1, you don't need to add the -server switch when starting tagcoin-qt.

Also, set rpcallowip=127.0.0.1.  I'm not sure if it works with outside IPs, but it always works for me with 127.0.0.1.  Of course, if you have a mining farm, you'll be setting multiple IPs.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 04, 2013, 04:56:27 PM
So still no info on solo mining? All i want to do is point a bunch of my mining farm to a single system, and mine the coin lol.

Same as any other coin. Hope you've got some power if you're going solo.

I've tried it the same as other coins.. doesn't seem to like me much. Historically I've used the demon executables, but this coin only provides the qt gui executable. I made a config file and fired it up with the server param, but can't get any systems to connect. I can telnet so the rpcport is open, but the systems can't connect otherwise.

Vesper- make sure your tagcoin.conf file is configured correctly.  If you want, post it here to verify that it is set up correctly.  If it is, you just need to make sure your client is up to date, and you should be able to solo-mine.
1907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 03, 2013, 05:47:28 PM
Added my TAG ID to my signature.

In the past I have blasted most of the altcoins in this forum.  In fact I haven't been on here in a long time because of them.  I'm glad I came back and found TAG in this subforum.  I really do believe that this is a great idea, with a solid dev team, and a well respected industry leader backing it.  I'm behind TAG 100%.  Kudos, mate!

@ny2cafuse - thanks for pointing that out... must have been something we did just before breaking up the holiday on friday...will fix that in a few hours...

It would be easier to pay out rewards if your TAG ID was in your profile..Wink...but let me know your TAG ID so I can TAG you..Smiley

I like the way you said it.. Use tag as a verb for rewarding someone, you should make everyone use that term..

This is exactly why I'm behind this.  TAG is building a culture, not a crapcoin.
1908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The World's First Rewards Coin - Released on: November 03, 2013, 04:15:54 PM
Tagbond,

Not sure if you've been informed of it yet, but there is a "bug" of sorts on the tagbond profile page.  Under the login information panel, if you set the mobile number field to anything other than 0, you get the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'CExceptionEvent' not found in /var/www/production/tagbond/framework/base/CApplication.php on line 714

You can also set it to a negative number, which doesn't seem right.  Either way, I figured I'd let you know if no one else has mentioned it before.

Just trying to understand the fees.

Your saying 0.001 BTC/GHS/HOUR?

so for 24 hours of mining at 1 GHS the fee will be about 0.024BTC?

Let me know if I am do the math correctly.

No, you read it wrong.  It's $0.001, as in a tenth of a penny.
1910  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***CEX.IO Cloud mining official page*** on: October 28, 2013, 01:51:50 AM
CEX,

You could probably make a killing if you guys offered scrypt based cloud-mining.  If CryptoIndustries gets machines out the door, they would make a killing on your site.  A dozen or so Horus units and shares for 100-200khs/share.  I'd definitely buy in if you guys ever went that route.  Here's a link to the Horus.

Im shocked to see the market holding steady @ 0.09ish, even with the difficulty hike. Not sure what to make of it & unsure of my own personal reentry point into this market. Only time will tell....

I'm with you on that one... I've been eyes glued to the screen all day today looking for when to get back in.

All in all, I've been loving the site.  If you can stay on top of your entry and exit points, it's a nice way to earn some extra coin while trading.  Keep up the good work CEX!
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Fee Shares on: October 25, 2013, 10:59:45 PM
I like the idea, but I'm not all in on the cost per share.  I'll wait to see if this comes down.  A little food for thought for the short term guys...

I'll use numbers I'm currently working with...

4BTC investment in Cryptsy shares would be 80 shares.  At 0.00082695 per share, that's 0.066156BTC per month.

4BTC investment at CEX.IO would yield about 42-46GH/s shares, which at tomorrow's difficulty would pay ~0.0544BTC(with 42GH/s) per day.

I know the mining game is a rough one right now, but if you're looking for a faster return, CEX.IO is pretty decent right now.  But like I said short term.  Hell, at a 0.05BTC a day payout, take that and buy shares of the Cryptsy IPO.
1914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 20, 2013, 01:55:44 PM
The fact that people voted yes on this poll shows that the issue is something to be looked at.  Mind you, nuking threads from orbit may be a bit extreme.  At the time of posting there were already a ton of threads begging for the crapcoins to stop.  I was fed up and that's why I posted this topic.  In my own defense, I did include an option in the poll for "I would like to discuss other alternatives".  I openly said I would like to hear other solutions.  Then there was then a lull of crapcoin threads, and everyone said, "oh here's the end".  But it wasn't the end.  At the time of this post, there are 4 seperate threads on the front page about Pheonixcoins by JohnCar, all that could be consolidated, or deleted for all I care.  Sexcoin is still on the front page and has been for a few days, but let's be honest... how legitimate will sexcoin, or pheonixcoin, or even feathercoin be in the eyes of anyone when someone finally says, "we should adopt this system for worldwide commerce".  I know the US government isn't going to recognize them, that's for damn sure.

After all, making money is well and good... but that's not what it's all about.  I believe in BTC and what it was created for.  I also believe in LTC for smaller transactions, and as a secondary form of currency directly tied to BTC... like paper bills and change.  I also like YAC in that it brought a pretty fresh idea to the table with a changing equation factor... I thought that was a great idea, so I mine it with my CPUs.  But the crapcoins now are all about greed.  Greed is what made this subforum what it is now.  People trying to premine crapcoins and pump out as many as possible to try to make a quick buck off of everyone killed it for me.  I agree that forums should be a place to spread ideas, discuss possible innovations and philosophize about what the future should be.  So spread NEW ideas.  Reinventing the wheel and coming up with another wheel is just plain stupid.

ncr1pt0r, I know what censorship is... I don't need your moronic post to a dictionary to tell me.  Honestly, man... bring something worthwhile to this discussion or GTFO.  Again, I already said that I would be happy with an ignore thread option.  I will gladly moderate my own list of what shows up on my end... just give me the ability to do so.
1915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 20, 2013, 03:43:14 AM
censorship , really? this had to be a joke, lol

Did you read any of this thread, or did you just chime in for your 14th post?

This isn't about censorship.  It's about cleaning up the spam.  I don't even care at this point if the forum mods don't want to work towards cleaning up the crap.  However, now that I know it's possible for a member to ignore entire threads, I don't see why this shouldn't be an option for those of us who want to get past the endless pages of spammy crapcoin BS.
1916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 20, 2013, 03:24:35 AM
Just found this....

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1193

Simple machines plugin that allows users to ignore entire boards or threads.  Couldn't get easier than that.  Of course that's a site wide change that the owners of this forum would have to implement.
1917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 19, 2013, 09:56:14 PM
If someone took 5 minutes to program a chrome extension with the ability to "ignore" threads, would that be good enough?

I enjoy posts about new coins and I like the way this forum is laid out. It says "Alternate cryptocurrencies" and that's exactly what you get. I'm not sure if the solution of "people who happen to be online in a short period of time get to vote on whether or not a coin is valid" is a good one, considering the value may not be realized until much later or simply by different people.

He already said it would. I think he would appreciate you doing it for him. Thanks!

I think a lot of people would appreciate it.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 19, 2013, 09:55:40 PM
Read what? there is about 1% worthwhile information on any forum here.  Tough like if you don't like sorting.  Quit whining.

Exactly, there used to be at least 5%.  And we don't get the ability to sort.  Give me the ability to sort my own list of threads and I'll stfu and keep to myself.

100% behind getting the ability to ignore entire threads.
1919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 19, 2013, 09:50:30 PM
waaaa waaa you have 100 posts.  Your can't block people from announcing their coins.  Then what? you'll whine that it was pre-mined?

If this is what keeps you up at night, its time to get a life.

I have a life outside the forums, which is why when I come here to catch up, I don't want to have to sort through the crap to find something of value.  The fact that I have 100 posts means nothing but the fact that I like to read more than talk.  Some people in these forums should learn to do such...

BTW... look up my posts and let me know if you find any complaints of pre-mines.  That's because I don't waste my time with crapcoins that are, which is 90% of what's been coming out.
1920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 19, 2013, 09:45:10 PM
You're absolutely right, except when it comes to cases of spam (which are noise, and that's what the OP is proposing the alt-coin announcements are, completely spammy noise). Do you look through your whole spam folder one by one because "reading email is not a popularity contest"?

In fact it *is* a popularity contest, a contest for your attention. That is the whole point of spam (which is what OP is proposing the alt-coin announcements basically are). I don't know if I agree with him that they are spam in essence, but I doubt we'd miss anything if there weren't new coins created every week.

+1 to you, sir.  Spot on.

I can ignore spam email all I want, it doesn't mean my gmail is going to be any less full of it at any given time.  I'm just tired of the same damn posts over and over about crapcoins that offer nothing new.  Half of them still have references to the coins they copied.  Yet everyone and their mom comments on the posts and keeps them on the front page.  Give me the power to do something for myself, and I'll do it, ffs.
