Awesome, Cryptonight-Alloy support was added! I posted a link to your miner on our discord to spread the word.

Thanks Smiley

Thanks for update, doc.

Important information: I didn't recommend to update AMD driver to version 18.4.1.
After update one of cards on rigs start to drop hashspeed to 0 after several seconds untill restart mining. Problem not only on my rig! Several peoples in neighbor themes wrotes about the same problem with 18.4.1 driver!

Thanks for the info. I really only do testing on the blockchain drivers on Win7/Win10, on the few rigs i have, so this kind of info is welcome!

Its not new to 1.5... but can you explain the kernel setting? I'm getting the periodic hang compiling kernel on GPU 1 (of an 8 card system).

"Some additional parameters you can use in gpu_conf:
"kernel" : 0-4 , IF 0, MINER WILL SELECT MOST SUITABLE KERNEL, OTHERS ARE : 1-FOR GCN CARDS, 2-FOR PRE-GCN CARDS, 3-FOR PRE-GCN EXPERIMENTAL 1, 4-FOR PRE-GCN EXPERIMENTAL 2"

I'm running Vega 64's. I don't know what GCN is referring to. Do I use setting 1?

Thanks

yes for vegas use kernel 1, that is automatically selected if you omit the kernel parameter.

Any chance to get core/mem speed + voltage control in config file?

i implemented this but disabled it at the moment, cause its not really working as it should. I will get to it again, when some of the more important options are done Smiley

Doc, is it possible to restart the Miner if Hashrate drop between a specified Level?

not yet but that's a wish i already added on the list Smiley

V1.5.0
- Added option to reset (disable/enable) AMD gpu devices with devcon before mining (admin rights needed, miner will ask)
- Now you can disable/enable up to 19 GPU's by pressing 0 - 9 (gpu0 - gpu9) and shift+0 - shift+9 (gpu10 - gpu19) on the keyboard
- Cryptonight Alloy new algo added (active from block 44.000)
- Added periodical GPU hashrate in log file
- No more nan displayed in hashrate view  Smiley

To explain a little bit :

GPU resetting is done with devcon.exe, the same that is used for resetting Vega GPU's with some scripts. It finds all AMD GPU's in the system and disable/enables them before mining starts.
I know there will be some issues with this, like if you do it with a remote connection, it may freeze or drop. But this is something that is not miner related.
You need to give administrative privileges to SRBMiner if you don't want the permission dialog box pop up everytime when starting/restarting the miner. Also if a new empty window gets open, you can close it Smiley

Added possibility to disable/enable GPU's while mining. To maximize efficiency, when a device is disabled it won't get disabled right at that moment, it will first finish the round it is working on, and then it will stop working.
This is good for you because if some shares are found, they will be sent to the pool, and only after that the device will get disabled. This can sometimes take even 15-30 sec.
For GPU id's from 0-9 just press the corresponding key, for 10, 11, 12 ..etc use SHIFT+NUMBER, so if you want to disable GPU13, press SHIFT+3 on the keyboard.

Cryptonight Alloy added, use "cryptonight_type" : "alloy". Altough there is no test pool, so i could not try it first, just did everything by the informations the coin dev gave my. So at block 44.000 we will see is it working Smiley

Ok, it was just a matter of time, when will it begin, but it looks like the time has comed.
Threads appearing here on BTCTalk and Reddit, claiming SRBMiner is a virus, that it creates a VBS script etc etc...(by the way he is also advertising another miner in that thread Cheesy)
Also all of a sudden developers of XMR-STAK came telling people not to use SRBMiner.

I don't really know what to tell you people except:

- If you think it's a virus , don't use it
- If you think it violates some GPL license, and that bothers you a lot, don't use it

If you are one of the devs of XMR-STAK, tell me which part of my code bothers you, cause you obviously did some RE.
I'll gladly change it, if it bothers you so much Smiley

Also as i wrote on the first page, download only from link in first post.

Let me remind you of this post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3167363.msg34588673#msg34588673

This miner is a fork of xmr-stak which is GPL. As long as the author is not providing the source code it is a GPL license violation.

PLEASE do not use this miner until doktor83 is providing the source code

Its not a fork of xmr-stak.

I don't say i did not use some of the ideas from other open source projects. I would lie if i said that.
So sorry, no source code for you.
1750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.4.9 on: April 30, 2018, 07:04:06 AM
Could anyone share their config settings for R9 290 and 290x cards? and also clocks and volts?

I am getting HW errors in miner with 290x with almost stock memory clocks. HWInfo doesn't show any memory errors for the card. When I lower the intensity they seem to go away but the hashrate also suffers greatly. At the moment it is running at 47 intensity with 2 threads.

Are these memory errors bad in any way? The shares seem to be accepted but the pool shows much lower hashrate than miner.

did you try kernel 2,3 or 4 ?
you put "kernel" : number in gpu_conf

and yes, hw errors are bad if you have a lot. It means your gpu computed wrong result.
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.4.9 on: April 30, 2018, 06:46:45 AM
target_fan_speed in RPM should be only added to gpu_config section only, per card basis?
Yes

target_temperature should work in general section by design?
If you omit the setting on top of config, it assumes it's not set.
If you set it > 0 , it will use it for every card available.
If you set it to 0, or omit it completely, and put it in gpu_conf section for each card, then it will use those settings.

Why i made it like this ?
By setting target temp on top, every card will adjust it's fanspeed to maintain this temperature.
Target fan speed isn't supported in general section cause it's something that is let's say unique for every card.
Fan speed 3000 may hold one card on 45c , other on 60.
well not in case you have rx 550 rigs.. that have 12 cards each. but that`s ok, % is more reliable for general case, i can agree.

It does, but i don't know how it should work if you set one thing with 3rd party tool, one in miner. You set fans on 75%, but want temperature 55c.
So do you want 55c or 75% fan speed ? Smiley

if only miner can control fans out-of the-box with target temperature, I turn off all third party tools, and enjoy easy deploy and config.
however its not the case (

Thats waht i get with only miner control of fans:
(temps above 70 are devastating for these cards - and they hit it pretty quick)

You can always set fan speed, if temperature_target isn't working for you.
For ex you know the RPM you need, you can set it in gpu_conf.

here is config I tried today w 1.4.9, win10ltsb, 18.3.4 drivers:
Code:
{
"cryptonight_type" : "normalv7",
"log_file" : "log.log", -> this isn't used anymore
"intensity" : 23,
"double_threads" : true,
"target_temperature" : 55,
"shutdown_temperature" : 90,
}

and here are the temps without adldisable and with fan control from third party util set to 75% of RPM

Code:
[2018-04-30 09:05:02] GPU0:    466.0 H/S [T: 59c, RPM: 2782, CC: 1150 MHz, MC: 1900 MHz]

[2018-04-30 09:05:02] Total:   5831.0 H/S

it`s just after couple minutes - and it will go higher...
so does target_temperature do anything? (in general section)

It does, but i don't know how it should work if you set one thing with 3rd party tool, one in miner. You set fans on 75%, but want temperature 55c.
So do you want 55c or 75% fan speed ? Smiley

Will SRB support new algo of ALLOY (xao)? https://github.com/alloyproject/alloy-gui/releases

Sure it will   Wink

Also if you guys know some forks that im not aware of, just write it here i will add it.

Hi Doktor.

Very happy I found SRBminer.  Much better than the other XMR miners i've tried.

Very stable and I'm getting 5660H/s on 6 x RX580 @ ~ 704W which I think this is quite good ?

One question / feature request if you have any spare time ;-)

I'm using --logfile file.txt.  Would it be possible to automatically dump into this file the H/s summary ( i.e same as pressing 'h' ) every 20-30 mins or so ?

I'm scraping this file into a web page so it would be really useful to see the H/s rate for each card and a total.

Thanks very much.

Of course, i will add this info to the log too Smiley

it is actually strange situation
but on my rig stable version which is working as a clock is 1.4.3 ..
the other version with greater number creates strange situation - all share becomes invalid...
do not know what is the problem.. I'm mining monero with a rig of mixed one vega and five rx480...

share your config and pools file so we can help you

old bug on old drivers. On blockchain and newer (18.3.4) its working as its supposed to.
The easiest fix is to update your drivers Smiley

will try today )

i hope it helps, if not i will look into it.

checked 18.3.4 today.

target fan speed basically not set?

From the first page :

V1.4.8
- Added support for new ArtoCash algo
- Added fast pool switching when pressing P
- Added target_temperature setting to gpu_conf too, if this option is used on top of config (value is > 0), gpu_conf setting is IGNORED
- Added target_fan_speed setting to gpu_conf, atm must set it in RPM, not in percent, sorry Smiley
- Minor bug fixes

How i use other pool and config file in 1 dir?

i wont in 1 folder where is SRBminer.exe put 1.bat 2.bat 3.bat and all bat start other pool coin with other pool and other config.
Now i must use 10 folder for 10 coin.
in sgminer i put in bat file this:
sgminer -c sgminer.conf --gpu-reorder
sgminer -c sgmine2.conf --gpu-reorder
sgminer -c sgminer3.conf --gpu-reorder

and 1 bat = 1 pool = 1 coin

in 1 folder = 1 srbminer.exe and 10 start.bat and 10 pool.txt and 10 config.txt

%EXE% -c config-haven.txt --pools pools-haven.txt --logfile log-haven.txt
%EXE% -c config-graft.txt --pools pools-graft.txt --logfile log-graft.txt

etc etc

All in one dir.

Thx Smiley

but you are right, i will make it so you can put pools too in the config file, just have a few more options in my head before that to do Smiley
