Indian Wells in women's sections has started, I put bets on S. Stephens and I thought it would be an easy match for her but Watson gave a tight fight especially in the first and second sets it's good that the last set she can finish easily, after winning the US Open 2017 she looks easy to lose.
In women' sections, many young players have won Grand Slams and it was only once after that they became very easy to lose in the early stages of the tournament.

I watched the Tie break in the first set and watched the second set, it was close
and I thought Watson would win. Stephens to me always looks uninterested so I
didnt have a bet on this match.

From my post earlier on I had overlooked Coco Gauff, I think she is still developing
and could definitely be a name for the future in the womens tournaments.

For today I have 2 bets in, I have Vondrousova to beat Golubic and on the mens
side Tommy Paul to beat F.Lopez.

Looking forward to the big names entering the tournament.

@aoluain this point has been discussed here a while ago that there’s no fixed champion in women tennis, and hence wagering on it become very difficult, I can’t find the post as it’s buried but those who discussed on this point post regularly in this thread, so I’m sure that they’ll share their opinions once again.

Also in this match she misunderstood her opponent’s strength, and that’s classic example of success getting to ones head, and if she wants to become a big champion then she needs to play regularly with a champions mentality.

I haven't seen and bet yet on Indian Wells, the good thing is that Sloan won the match, not sure if she covers the handicap though.  Here game though dip a bit in the last couple of years, and we have Coco Gauff as well to carry the flag for the US.

And if you are going to look at it, most of the winners are like one hit wonders, after winning a Grand Slams, they become inconsistent and only few women remain on top after winning a majors.

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but Andy Murray has lost his wedding ring. He normally loops it into the laces of his shoes when he's playing... but now he has had the shoes stolen, with wedding ring still attached. I hope he gets it back. Presumably he'll offer some sort of reward to encourage the thief whoever "finds" it to return it.

Perhaps this might influence his chances of winning his first match at the tournament? Surely there will be some psychological effect.

I think the effect will be minimal. Murray is professional enough to give this a place when playing. His first match is against Mannarino and Murray should be able to win this in 2 sets.

I was one of the guys who mentioned this. I think that nobody of the current Women tennis players is strong enough to really dominate the field and win a lot of grandslams similar to what S. Williams has done.

There is no standout player yet. There are a lot of potentially great up and coming players, Raducanu and Fernandez being the latest, but there are plenty of others who emerged in previous years, Swiatek and Coco Gauff are just two examples. There are a lot of potential world-class players there, but no-one has yet shown the consistency to win tournament after tournament and be a nailed-on favourite. Perhaps in the next couple of years one of the players we already know about will cement themselves at the top of the game. But for the moment, the variety keeps it exciting.

Its getting a bit like that also on the mens side. I dont necessarily want to see the

I'm just watching Begu/Vorac v Fernandez/Gauff, its currently 1-4 first set. Nice to
see this pairing Fernandez and Gauff, it could be a formidable team. Also nice to
see Fernandez on court again.

Here's an example of how diverse and interesting women's tournaments have become since the "Serena-Era" shows that when such heroes leave the stage, the games become more varied and interesting. 
It seems to me that this victory of Medvedev over the invincible Djokovic also has a landmark event in men's tennis.  Maybe now men's tennis will be more interesting and varied.  And there will be a so-called "change of generations" and "change of heroes"...

Honestly, I don't really like it when there are young players who are full of potential to play doubles, I always think they will not focus on singles career and that can be seen from A. Sabalenka before she was ranked 2 she played doubles quite often with E. Mertens, her performances in major tournaments were not as good as when she started to focus playing singles, so I think is better these young players only playing singles, even though my colleague said might be the reasons why they play doubles to get more prizes to pay their expenses when they travelled to different countries to compete, and it's quite reasonable.
BTW they won very easy.

Today I only bet on in-play, 2 matches with 3 bets and won all the bet, I considered this as lucky because it usually always gets bad results in-play bets.

^^ Nice win mate, yeah, usually a 3 match parlay could be disastrous, specially if just one match could really derail the results.

I haven't watch or bet on the ladies match, but yes, I've reach that Fernandez and Gauff are partner in doubles. We will see what happen, those two young kids maybe are just having a good time and not yet focusing on singles match. But for sure, they will, specially they have tasted big tournaments already and they wanted to at least won some.

Same here, I don't always get that also but you could be right about the prize money. Just found following prize tabel for the US Open; the prize pot for doubles is a lot lower than in the singles tournament but it seems easier to get further or to qualify for it as the competition is less fierce.

Fernandez played yesterday in doubles ahead of her singles match today! so in theory
she should be more ahead than having her first match today after a long-ish break.

Will be 12 hours from now, we will see how Raducanu as wild card in this tournament will do. She will be facing Sasnovic, so I guess she will win her first match here and for sure all tennis fans are glued to their tv or watch it live since there's a lot of hype around her after winning a grand slam.

Haven't check the bracket and who's who is she going to face in the QF, but for sure she might face a lot of top 10 players again. It will be tough and hopefully she will not succumb to the pressures now.

Well, we are kind of on the verge of the end of the Big 3 (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer) era although Djokovic is still in great shape and form, but the other two guys may have left their best days way behind. So when these kinds of phases come to an end, eventually there will be some variety of players winning the tournaments. SO far I have like how Medvedev and Zverev play. Medvedev is ranked 2nd, just behind Djokovic, and Zverev is ranked 4 in singles tennis. Tsitsipas also interests me. Maybe in the next 2 or 3 years, we'll get a variety of champions of the tournaments held.

I liked your point, As there was quite a gap between the US Open and this Indian Wells tournament, playing a doubles match will be a good way to start the competitive games again.  Fernandez's next singles match is against Alizé Cornet and I think that she should be able to win this match. In the very recent US Open she was outstanding throughout the tournament but ended up losing the finals to Emma Raducanu and I hope she will go a long way in the tournament.

I haven't seen the brackets and I haven't heard of any Sasnovic before. I did some research and saw that she is ranked 100 in the women's tennis ranking compared to Raducanu being the 22nd. Though these rankings don't say much, but I'm a huge Raducanu fan and we saw her dream run in the US Open. Though she was a wild card entry in the tournament and I hope she will go a long way in this tournament.

Ive had a lot of bets on Tennis over the last couple of days and had 0.01mbtc free
to play with, I put that on Raducanu to win. I wasnt fully convinced she would
be capable, so it was a token amount, Luckily I didnt have more to play with as
she lost 6-2, 6-4 with a very lack lustre performance.

Next up is Fernandez in a couple of minutes, I have a bigger wager on her to win.
