https://talksport.com/sport/tennis/956469/emma-raducanu-news-tim-henman-indian-wells-coach/

After reading this article its clear that Raducanu doesnt actually have a full time
coach in place for Indian Wells, does anyone else find that bizzare?

Parting ways with your coach who helps you win the U.S Open bringing you to a
#1 UK ranking and not have someone to take his place.

Yes it seems pretty weird to fire a coach that helped you to win one of the major titles in tennis bascially completely out of nowhere, but you never know what was the reason for that decision. Maybe they just didn't get on well anymore, or one of the two just completely lost grounding and is behaving like a superstar now...no one knows. I also think it is not that big of a deal to be without a coach for a tournament or even longer. As far as i know Nick kyrgios had no trainer for years now and it works pretty will for him and i don't think that he would perform better if he would have a coach on his side. I also think that experienced players like Djokovic or Nadal would not need a trainer at all.

Nick though is a different case, I mean is he coachable to begin with?  Grin

For Raducanu's case, maybe it was not really a coach by decision, it was just someone who accompany here in the US Open and now looking for a full time coach to help here to move in the next direction of career. Hopefully, she can pick up a good and experience coach, as he has the potential, very young, still teachable and can learn a lot through proper coaching and experience playing against the best.

I only follow a handful of female tennis players and of those since Wimbledon and the US Open have come and gone I've had to look in on any and every fixtures I've never previously heard of just in case my following players happen to be appearing at those tournaments.  Does anyone else have that issue??  Admittedly, I've only been placing tennis bets for about six months now.

The womens game is very open, with the decline in Serena Williams' dominance there hasnt
been any one player able to dominate the others to the same extent.

The closest anyone has come in the same era is Sharapova. Wozniacki, Halep,
Muguruza, Barty, Kerber, Svitolina and Pliskova have all had their moments.

There are constantly new comers, recently Naomi Osaka and this year Raducanu.

That is the thing what i dont like about a women tennis is that the best players keep changing every month.Only Barty is holding currently the first place, but in matter of tournaments we keep seeing new winners and newcomers. No body expect that Raducanu to even come to the third round let alone win the US Open and on next tournament we will probobly have a new tennis player win the tournament or someone that isnt at all in the top 10.

Having new winners all the time is also exciting but just makes it very difficult to place a bet on lol. I don't think anybody in the current field for the Women tennis will dominate it the same as S.Williams has done it. I thought that maybe Osaka could step up to the plate as she already won 4 grandslams but she is not mentally stable enough.

Parting ways with your coach who helps you win the U.S Open bringing you to a
#1 UK ranking and not have someone to take his place.
It was a temporary arrangement, specifically to cover the US Open. He didn't want to continue after that point in any case.

''Britain's US Open champion Emma Raducanu has been given a wildcard into the main draw of the WTA 1000 event.''

Will Raducanu with the new coach and under the burden of high expectations after winning the GS title continue with good games and victories?

It will be interesting to see how she copes. As I am from the UK, I hope she continues to win Smiley. Certainly there is a weight of expectation on her now, but I believe she is seeded (despite being a wildcard), which should in theory give her an easy-ish match to start with to settle any nerves.

Well, the draw is out now. Raducanu as a seed has a bye in the first round. Second round she faces an unseeded opponent, either Osorio Serrano or Sasnovich... and then, if she wins... potentially Halep in the third round, which is obviously a difficult proposition.

Even though tennis is one of my favorite sports to bet I got a reminder how unfulfilling it can get today. So I played a ticket with 4 matches. First it started by Zapata forfeiting, then there was rain break and then Andreev forfeited as well. Ok those two came handy since my choices were doing badly. Then Griekspoor also won with forfeit which left my ticket on one live match. At least that one managed to barely scrape onto over so I got little something for my trouble Smiley

I do find it difficult betting on tennis, but also on individual sports in general. Team sports seem to be a little bit more predictable, I suppose because any individual superb or terrible performances or injuries tend to be smoothed out across the team as a whole. If a footballer has a bad game, that's only 10% of your outfield players, the other 90% can compensate. If a tennis player plays badly, they've lost.

Same here bud, I went on a traditional based casino's, lost my capital very quick, damn what a I day. So just looking at the Indian Wells, and thinking, what the heck, bad day? let me try my luck on my favorite sports to at least get back some,

At least recoup some of my early losses on that casinos. Probably stay home and just bet online.  Grin

Well done, its always satisfying to start winning again and clawing back lost Satoshi's.

I have started my Indian Wells betting on the womens side with Anisimova to beat Scott
and Rogers to beat Kalinina.

I'll make a start with the mens side on tomorrows matches when the qualifiers are over.

Ballsy to say the least for those guys,  Grin. Anyhow, that's gambling for us, including tennis more risk bigger rewards.

I'm just looking at the Indian Wells, there's already some name names, as far as the match.

Delbonis vs Nishioka and Fokina vs Johnson.

But there are still qualifying matches, maybe I could also pick up some wins and few satoshis.

Ash Barty has had a varied game play this year pulling out of one tournament to then go on to win at Wimbledon and has again pulled out just in the last week.

I saw an interview with Barty after Wimbledon on an Australian network and she spoke of coming home in October or November as she would have at that time been on the playing circuit for seven or wight months.  Perhaps she's just tired of traveling in the Covid Era?

In the indiana wells women tournament i am interested in how raducanu performance is gonna be after that perfect run in us open with no set droped, because a lot of times when young talents apear and perform well they soon disapear from the scene, the question is will we see another osaka and barty or the pressure will be too much for raducanu.

We will see, hopefully she will not be a one hit wonder in tennis, we need more consistency in the ladies side. Like the previous era's wherein the women are more likely the men, top seeds in grand slams. Osaka has drop off the top 10 now, after winning the US Open in 2018.

Hopefully this will not be case for Raducanu or even Fernandez, those two are the future of women's tennis, not even 20 years old but playing like a veteran and very tough mentally.

That could be the case actually. Barty hasn't played recently and players like Raducanu popped off. We even heard the news that the 2nd ranked player Sabalenka won't be playing the next tournament. Don't know what the case is, because a few years back it was only Serena and Maria Sharapova everywhere. It's also a good sign that new players are stepping up, but also a matter of fact that some players (not many though) get lost over time.

Raducanu only popped off in this tournament. Maybe she got lucky or played the best she will ever do. We will see in the next tournaments that she plays if she can win the next tournament or reach even the final. Well its a good sign that new players are popping up but this is currently all over the place.

Both Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez are extremely talented players and they have proved themselves in the last tournament. Raducanu even beat some of the top ranked women in tennis rankings. I hope that Raducanu can cope with the pressure and the expectations from the fans and people. Hope that she won't collapse under pressure and will be the next big thing in women's tennis.

I agree, we really need to wait for Raducanu if she really has what it takes to be the new face of women's tennis. As Osaka lost the hype already, and many ladies getting injured, Raducanu and Fernandez suddenly pops up.

We would like to see them going against those top seeded to really gauge their performance and could overtake and goes up in the rankings. Indian Wells will be a good test although there are a lot who has pull out as well.

And this is what Coco Gauff advise to her fellow teenager:

Quote
"The best thing I could [say], and I'm sure she's probably heard it, is to set time aside from the phone," said Gauff ahead the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.

https://www.eurosport.com/tennis/wta-indian-wells-ca/2021/indian-wells-2021-coco-gauff-warns-fellow-teenage-tennis-star-emma-raducanu-to-stay-off-overwhelming_sto8573505/story.shtml

For sure as we are in the social media era, and as teenagers, Raducanu might find more time checking in his twitter or facebook account. So it could a distraction. They really need to be really smart specially in the case of Raducanu because all attention are on her now after winning the US Open. So there is pressure around here going forward.

Indian Wells in women's sections has started, I put bets on S. Stephens and I thought it would be an easy match for her but Watson gave a tight fight especially in the first and second sets it's good that the last set she can finish easily, after winning the US Open 2017 she looks easy to lose.
In women' sections, many young players have won Grand Slams and it was only once after that they became very easy to lose in the early stages of the tournament.
