Ah yes, Musetti got the job done in 3 sets, fairly straight forward for him. Hopefully he
can go far this year. He plays Shevchenko next and ahould win that also.

Tsitsipas was playing today against Veselý and got the job done in 4 sets, but just about
won the tie break in the fourth set 7-9. He plays Carballés Baena next and should win that
but yea with Tsitsipas anything can happen.

On this day ATP men's singles will have several matches and there is one match that interests me which is David Goffin vs Hubert Hurkacz.
It was an easy match for Hubert Hurkacz to win as his opponent would not be up to par with him.
We already know how Hurkacz plays in every match and the several titles he already has so it seems David Goffin will find it very difficult to be able to keep up with Hurkacz in the match later.

I often ignore the matches of the seeded players in the early rounds, especially when the odds in the matches given by the bookmakers look so much different because the match will very likely run unequal with many factors because not only because Alcaraz is the first seed in this tournament but also because he really likes this surface so we will see the chances for his opponents to beat him are very small, indeed he lost to the unseeded in the Italian Open but that's normal when dealing with players whose match records are not even available on the internet so don't really expect it to be maybe lost, but usually, the early rounds of the tournament aren't that exciting to see the seeds play.

The match that I think today will be very even is Nishioka vs JJ Wolf, the bookmakers give odds that are not much different for the two players, I think it will be a tight match with the possibility of five sets or at least there will be a tie break in one of the sets.

Ruud lost in Geneva. I do not think anyone expected that. Now the semi-final is between Zverev and Jarry. Zverev was leading 4:1 in the quarter-finals against Wu Yibing when Wu Yibing could not continue the match. Zverev now has a big chance to reach the final.

I was away for a few days and have just seen that Zverev has lost to Jarry. Surprisingly, Jarry also won the final against Dimitrov.
The tournament in Gef should be the last preparation for Paris for Zverev. But apparently Zverev will not get far there either. A quarter-final would be a big success for him.

Harris did himself proud, pushed all the way but ran out of steam I guess in 3rd set, never saw him climbing out of that hole once Zverev broke him for 3-1. Fognini has had these issues for years now and these kinds of players don't do themselves any favor. There are a couple of examples when top players slowed their career down because of frequently freaking out. Kyrgios is the best example for that. Federer, Djokovic and Nadal all three said that it is so hard to stop Kyrgios unless they felt that he is about to lose his nerves. What a weakness that is and he did it so often. You also never get the crowd behind you, which could be another disadvantage. Now that his last mental breakdown was in Rome when he played against Rome, some of the eyes will be on him. He even asked whether referee in Rome whether he is stupid. But I don't understand why they don't install the hawk-eye even on sand there. When it comes to millimeter decisions, I think it would be better to have the technology.

he is just non-first-class material, won some tournaments, had a luck to be no.1, but far from something special

now lower part of the draw is really interesting, and Sinner got a real boost, hopefully he will not crash under expectations from him to reach far this season

Well nobody expected that Medvedev would lose in the first round of a huge grand slam even tho its on clay. Seyboth Wild played an amazing match and even tho Medvedev won a tournament on clay he still is terrible on that surfice and still needs to work on his gameplay on clay.
