I agree with you.
Djokovic is physically and mentally still at the highest level and I think he can play tennis at that top level for at least 2 more seasons.
Alcatraz is currently the biggest challenge for Djokovic, but he is still a young player and I believe that he will have oscillations in his game and results.
Alcatraz could be the heir to the "big three" of world tennis, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic if he continue to play at this level, but I am sure that Djokovic has not said his last word in tennis and that he has the capacity to win a few more GS tournaments.
When Nadal returns from injury next year, I'm sure we're in for a very exciting tennis year  Grin

As long as Novak Djokovic is playing he will have two face Alcaraz as his biggest opponent in my opinion. I think Novak Djokovic is a good player who has the world of experience and he will find a way to overcome this difficult challenge. I also know that Djokovic knows that as well.

Alcatraz is obviously going to be someone who will stick around for a very long time. So he is obviously going to be able to see the next generation of players. I don’t think he is too much worried at this point. He has his whole career ahead of him.

I personally have my doubts about it and it's also the reason why I bet alcaraz during the first set at Wimbledon final in which he was losing...
Djokovic is a player "of a certain age". He is now at the end of his sporting career cycle.
How many time will be able to fight at this level? I don't think more than a couple of years.... Roll Eyes
Like Nadal. He is a strong player, but due injury and so on he is clearly out of games since a while...

these are games that I added to my multibet

Pavel Kotov - Andrey Rublev

Pavel Kotov, is 24 years old and was born in Russia, he currently occupies the number 89 position, an interesting fact is that he has never reached a final of any major tournament and on the other side we have Andrey Rublev who currently occupies the number position 7 and two years ago he already reached position number 5, my bet goes to Andrey Rublev's victory, I believe he has all the favoritism in this game

Casper Ruud - Alexander Shevchenko

Casper Ruud currently occupies the number 4 position, but last year he managed to reach the number 2 position and will play against Alexander Shevchenko who currently occupies the number 96 position of the ATP ranking, and a very short time ago, to be more precise the two months he managed to stay in position number 84 in the ATP ranking, he is a very young tennis player, he is 22 years old and still hasn't managed to conquer anything relevant, so my bet goes to Casper Ruud, I believe he will win this game

Alexander Zverev - Thiago Monteiro

Alexander Zverev currently occupies the position number 19 of the 19 in the ATP ranking, he who already reached the position number 2 of the ATP ranking, and will play against Thiago Monteiro who currently occupies the position number 122 of the ATP ranking, being that last year he managed to reach the number 61 position, born in brazil, he is 29 years old, I'm betting on Alexander Zverev's victory that despite having some difficulties in his debut, he has the capacity to win this game

Yeah, I believe 38 is maximum age you can be competitive at this level. Diet, yoga and similar stuff can't save your body from aging. Neither can doctors. Roger's dad owns a sports clinic in Switzerland and he wasn't able to deal with Roger's knee issues. Same story with Andy Murray and later Nadal. Tennis is a very demanding sport, you body simply wears out.

Djokovic lost the last title but i think he might comeback even stronger for US Open and win that title. Once Djokovic retires i think we see a clear domination from Alcaraz in the tennis world. Currently no one is even close to stopping Alcaraz except Djokovic. Hopefully someone new shows up soon.

Stopping Djokovic on grass in Wimbledon this year means a lot. This wasn't just a win by a better Alcaraz in a Grand Slam final. This was a win that the world was watching because if Djokovic took this one as well, who would have still seen his career come to an end anytime soon? It's different now. It is similar to Serena Williams when she won all those Grand Slams and out of a sudden she was stuck and couldn't win anymore. She had problems on any surface and this is why this win on grass for Alcaraz was huge. He has beaten a Djokovic who played his best possible, not some average tennis at an unimportant event.

We might all be looking forward to Alcaraz breaking some records. There is no three players like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic who have essentially won all the Grand Slam titles for decades. It is only Alcaraz. What if he remains more or less uncontested for the next 15 years?

I would never say it is possible, but I woud always say it is what these top level players can do, cause him some pain I think that all of these guys are inferior but are able to take a set from him.

Well, Nole is arguably even more dangerous on hard. So he will be one of potential winners in New York.

I don't think Alcaraz will be dominating ATP alone. I believe some serious contenders will appear sooner rather than later (just like Rafa showed up when Roger was dominating for several years already).

After becoming the 2020 US Open champion, Dominic Thiem struggled with injury for quite a long time so when he returned to the field he had to start from scratch, for big tournaments he has found it difficult to compete so far because the early rounds will immediately meet seeded players, but saw him lose in the second round of the ATP Gstaad to an unseeded player which even resulted from qualifying in the tournament it was quite a struggle for Thiem to get back to his best position, he lost in 3 sets, the first set belonged to his opponent but in the second set Thiem managed to take it easily but unfortunately the third set after his game was taken by his opponent he was unable to take it back so he had to leave the tournament early.

It's just  very unfortunate for Thiem to really struggle to make a comeback after his injury. And it become a career threatening for him, while his contemporaries like Tsitsipas and Medvedev continue to enjoy success and stay in the top 5, Dominic has been relegated below the standings and it seems that he can't get over or not the same anymore after his injury.

Congrats to those who back up Alcaraz against Djokovic. Up to know it has been a topic of discussion for me and my brother about how great Alcaraz is and that fight. And it could be just him Djokovic and to some extend Medvedev going to dominant in the next 2 or more years.

I think that Sinner and Rune could be the two players that will be able to face and fight against Alcaraz. It's just matter of time, but both players are really strong and they continue to growth their experience on field.
Even Alcaraz has admitted the ability of Sinner to play at high level against him (and some match have been won by Italian...) I will not too much surprised if in some year we will see Sinner performing better than Alcaraz. Even Nike (sponsorship) has noted this providing a BIG deal to Italian player... Roll Eyes

It's just  very unfortunate for Thiem to really struggle to make a comeback after his injury. Djokovic is still going to play and looking for another Grand Slam to set the records for him and to separate him as the GOAT. I do agree that it will be Medvedev to make the top 3 and the rest could be Tsitsipas, who I was a fan of years ago, and then Rune, Ruud and Rublev and Sinner.

Hopefully this lost to Djokovic doesn't mean that he is slowing down a bit. But Alcaraz has already proven himself against Djokovic and others. So it's going to be very tough for Djokovic to get that 1 Grand Slam as long as Alcaraz is enter on that tournament.

I watched Sinner destroy Alcaraz live in Umag last year - but in the long run I don't really feel he'll be able to constantly challenge him.
Rune is an interesting prospect, he's a hard hitter and can cause some problems on his day but is still inconsistent.

The biggest differentiator is the consistency. Alcaraz has shown in 5 sets with Đoković that he can maintain an extremely high level under pressure, he's shown that on Roland Garros as well until his injury. The other players mentioned simply can't do that (Medvedev is a perfect example) and can have their moments, but can't challenge him in the long run.

He played really strongly in the final. So I don’t think he is going to slow down. But obviously, he might have a psychological war to win which is against himself. He is obviously a player who has good mental strength. So I think he will be able to overcome that.

But the next time he's going to play against Alcaraz people are obviously going to point fingers at him. There will be a lot of questions if he will actually be able to beat Alcaraz or not. But I am sure that whenever they face each other again in the finals, it is going to be another really great match. I genuinely believe that Novak Djokovic will be able to beat Alcaraz if these two meet in the finals again.

I really didn't have the best of luck with betting on Wimbledon open, but it's been quite a decent run for me with Gastad, Bastad and Newport tour for the past few days, I hope I can keep the streak going.

Holger Rune still showing his high level of inconsistency, smh. I don't think these guys can stand the test of time if they can't stay consistent for just few month without falling off badly Shocked

I'm not having any good luck betting at Gstaad in Switzerland. I had Thiem to win
yesterday against Medjedovic. Thiem is having mixed game results recently and indeed
is struggling to get back to consistency.

Another bet today at Gstaad was Wawrinka to beat Munar, really thought Stan would
progress further today but after missing a set point in the first set and ending up losing
in 2 sets its dissapointing to see him too struggling to get back to consistency.

Congrats to those who back up Alcaraz against Djokovic. Up to know it has been a topic of discussion for me and my brother about how great Alcaraz is and that fight. And it could be just him Djokovic and to some extend Medvedev going to dominant in the next 2 or more years.

It could be 2 years or it could be more. But I think these two are going to be the center of attraction for that time.

Medvedev is bad on grand slams lately but he still wins weaker tournaments and that gives him a higher ranking. I think on Us open he can make a surprise because his best surface is the hard court. It would be a different match between him and Alcaraz because Medvedev is much better on hard court. While Djokovic is the favorite again on all tournaments

I personally believe that the main competitors in the next 2 / 3 years are going to be Djokovic, Alcaraz, and Medvedev. But I still do not think that Medvedev is on the same level as the other two. Alcaraz is obviously the wonder child. Djokovic is the experienced one. These two are going to play against each other as long as Djokovic does not start performing badly because of his age. It could be 2 years or it could be more. But I think these two are going to be the center of attraction for that time.

Alcaraz is indeed the wonder child of this generation but will he be able to win 20 or more grandslams like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic? Alcaraz (and Djokovic for the next 2 years) will be the men to beat in the future but nowadays you got so many good and young players that stand a chance (Sinner, Ruud, Medvedev). You also still got the likes Tsitsipas, Kyrgios, Thiem, that can maybe also win a grandslam in a good day.

BIG WINNER!

Well, Nole is arguably even more dangerous on hard. So he will be one of potential winners in New York.

I don't think Alcaraz will be dominating ATP alone. I believe some serious contenders will appear sooner rather than later (just like Rafa showed up when Roger was dominating for several years already).

You might be right and it is not that I am too pessimistic about the future competition in tennis, but it's just that for the moment the idea is quite real if nobody shows up in the next three years or so that Alcaraz might be dominating the sport for a long time. The US Open will be the next major milestone for Alcaraz because beating Nole on grass was big, but beating him on the hard court as well could also make Nole suffer a lot mentally because he was aiming for a few more Grand Slam titles, but Alcaraz could turn into the opponent that Nole for every other player for so long, the bogey opponent.
