Magic is a big surprise this season, they may not be consistent in winning but what's important is they are winning and beating good teams like the 76ers. Thing is, we only think they are a weak team because they are undervalued by the bookies making them heavy underdog in the betting odds.

That is true. Those who are courageous enough to take the risks at betting for them will find themselves a big winners today. I am not, I chose the 76ers over them even though I know Joel Embiid might not play, I should've taken that +10.5 for the Magic instead of the -9.5 for the 76ers.

Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are the only players there that are consistent enough to keep the game close even against opponents like the 76ers. But when someone stepped up his game on their bench like today Mo Wagner, they will have a higher chance to win.
They will always be the underdog except when their opponents are Houston, Spurs, and Pistons. I would probably try next time to bet for the Magic.

Dončić almost played alone and made 53 points. This is the fourth time he scored 50+ this season. He's an incredible player. Mavericks beat the worst team in the NBA and he had to play for 36 minutes though. Normally Mavs should've won this game with an early lead and he should've sit in the bench for last quarter but they had to make extra effort to win the game. Mavs doesn't look too strong to me, they need to do better to get a good spot in West.

They really need to consider looking for a way to help him because he can't really be like this all the time, they are shortening his NBA lifespan because of fatigue and injuries. Star players also need some rest in order to be fresh in their next games and they are still not in the NBA playoffs which is really alarming for them because once he will hurt himself, then that would be the end for them because no one after him in the team to rely on.

After this one, it will 76ers again at the same arena, I doubt they will give it to them again, Embiid will make sure they will win this time.
But after that it may be an easy road, Timberwolves and Hornets. They better steal those games from them and then back at home with more energy against the Knicks.

Yes, but the East is pretty much stack up as well, and they need to make a string of consecutive wins to be able to get a good spot. The problem with them is that they can beat anyone in the league any given night, but then they can't produce winning runs. They are like the Wolves, now their winning streak has been snap and we don't know if they can continue or not. But as far as betting, they are good to put money is because they can pull this kind of upsets. And most likely, Banchero will win the ROY as least with the way he is playing right now with the Magic.

In terms of betting especially if you'll going to take the handicap for them, they mostly covering it and if you have the kind of strong nerve taking the ML the profits is surely  decent,  like you said, they can win games without a doubt but they need to be consistent and they need to continue  chasing it. I mean magic is an under 40% win rate team, I am not saying that they are not going to win any games, it is obvious that they won nearly 40% of their games so it's definitely possible for them to win and I am not arguing against that.

But the fact is that we are talking about a team that is third from bottom in the eastern conference, we are not talking about a good team here and them losing is common too. Sure, you could give it a go and bet on them and you will win roughly around 40% of those bets so if you arrange it accordingly maybe you will get a profit, I know I do that with Lakers, but at the end of the day they are not "secretly good" or something like that, if they were, they wouldn't be at the bottom.

The problem with refs making a mistake like that is the fact that nothing really changes. I have been watching NBA for over 20 years and seen them make a lot of mistakes, either in important situations or even in not so important situations, the time Tim Duncan got ejected for laughing is still in my mind, there was something done about that eventually though.

However, the thing about the current situation is that, if you do not fine the refs and suspend them for a long period of time for making such a game deciding mistake, then what is stopping them from doing it again? Or another one doing it? That is why refs needs to be held accountable a lot more, and we need a lot more refs to replace them if they make a mistake.

I really couldn't agree more with you about this sentiment. These refs should be held accountable for their mistakes so that they will refrain from doing such things and start to get disciplined to only call an action that is needed, and I believe their work got easier because of the Replay Center. Some referees are already old, and I am certainly inclined that there's a long line of queue in their line of work.

The issue with that referee is beyond my comprehension. However, that was a truly poor call. Anyhow, I believe penalties are also handed out to referees, likely by their own NBA referees association. Obviously, bad calls have obvious consequences. Punishments maybe less games are officiated by referees with poor reputations. We have never heard of suspensions or even expulsions from the NBA because they are not reported in the media.

I found what happened to be unusual. In the past, I have become accustomed to reading, hearing, and seeing controversial decisions that are always in favor of the Lakers. When it comes to biased refereeing, they have the most memes out of all NBA teams.

The management will certainly do something about it as it has already affected the reputation of the league, they don't want to make people think that the league is rigged, so in order to retain that confidence, they will certainly make a serious penalty to the referees who miss calling a foul on that clear foul.

There are already plenty of speculation in the past that refs are manipulating the game, if you are familiar with Tim Donaghy, you will understand that NBA is not clean.

Yes, Tim was also involved in a controversy before because the FBI found out that he also bet in some NBA games, including those games he officiated, so that’s clearly making the league rigged. However, with this another controversy on hand, which I believed has started to ruin the reputation of NBA as news have spread fast online, then the NBA Management should do some actions that will resolved this scandal and will put this controversy at peace. And might as well penalized the referee that has caused this mess.

Tim's situation is somehow different from Eric Lewis because Tim has found guilty beyond unreasonable doubt for betting and getting the games rigged in which he officiated but the latter's situation is somehow different too because Lewis is just an avid fanatic of the Boston Celtics including his family (which by now I guess you guys already saw the circulating memes about their family wearing the same jersey), and that's not it, people managed to get through the lines and found out that the Celtics somehow got some helped whenever Lewis was officiating. I think as of now they are already investigating about this matter to found out if Eric is also abetting towards the games he officiated.

Things may not be going well at the Clippers. One of the teams that played the games with the lowest average score in the league in the first quarters. They are on the verge of losing the game in the first quarter. They are ranked 28th in this category out of 30 teams. But the interesting thing is that they are also in the 4th place in the ranking of the teams with the lowest first quarter totals. Team of contrasts. That's why I always bet less points from the first quarters in Clippers games. Chicago game is one of them.

Cleveland is doing very well defensively. But lately, the hardness in defense gave way to softness and they turned into a team that scored many points on offense and conceded many points on defense. I'm thinking of placing a bet on the Miami match. Of course the highest number. It is necessary to place such a bet on the match of these two teams, 7 of the last 10 matches are highest number over. Both teams' starting five looks solid and I don't think they will have a hard time finding a score for either team.

I may need that luck.  The line is not yet out so there's still time to think. Philly might want revenge in their next game so that's another factor to consider before game time.

It's taking longer because of the ankle injury and now he is questionable to play again. Or they are arranging the record to happen in their home game. Who knows, that's three more games if he score's 40 per game. 4 games if not forced, play now and make it happen in LA.

I do not think that he needs to rush, I mean after all he could do it at any point and it would be still a great thing. I would agree that a home crowd would be a lot better, if he could just be 2-5-10 points shy or whatever before the home game, whenever that is, then it would be pretty awesome to see him pass it at home. That way plenty of people will know that he will pass it and be there beforehand, tons of celebs will be in that game. This dude is going for 40k points for sure, and he has 10k assists and 10k rebounds as well. I know the game is getting a lot more offensive so maybe one day we will see this again. But I am %99.99 sure that we may never see a person do 40k-10k-10k ever again in our life time, if it ever happens I am sure it will still be awesome but remember this guy started out when Pistons were known to keep the other team under 80 points, it was a low scoring era into now a hugely offensive era, been 20 years, and he is still doing it. Definitely the greatest consistent superstar of all time, no superstar in history of NBA has been as good as him for as long as him.

I went with the Bucks.  I think it makes a lot of sense for LeBron to pass Kareem at home and on TV.  That game will be at Staples Center and it will also be televised on TNT so you can believe it will be a spectacle on TV.  It also gives LeBron enough padding to where he can make it so he easily is able to score enough points so that it can be well planned for all the festivities.  I think the earlier games would mean LeBron has to keep performing at a crazy level, which judging from him taking last night off, I don't think he wants to do for this record.  So keep February 9th free to watch TNT, because that's when I say he breaks it.

I guess it will depend on how many points he will score against the Knicks which is live already.

He didn't play on their last game against the Nets because of an injury so maybe there's a chance that we might not see him playing in the next games. Well, if he will play and will not sit down, my best choice is against Thunder or against the Bucks. Lebron averaged more than 30 PPG on his last 5 games so just basing on that, you will have a guess on when he will surpass Kareem's scoring record.

In contrast, I want Lebron to surpass Kareem's record at the Chase Center against the Warriors. I don't have any reason, but I just want to see Lebron surpassing Kareem's record in front of my favorite team's fans.

I vote for the Bucks in LA and we are winning the poll.  As long as Lebron could keep that kind of performance like today or maybe more then we will reach it at that game. Other predictions will win if unforeseen injuries will happen but they would not like that as it will be against the Warriors in San Francisco.
I mean, it's better to be done at their home although I know Warriors fans will also appreciate him and it will be as loud as it will be in LA.
Man, I am excited to see this happen. A breaking record that had not been done for so long. We had so many offensive players that passed, MJ, Iverson, Kobe, Dirk and yet they didn't reach that amount. I am sure there will be many stars present on that day with the possibility to break it, just like when Steph did it in New York.

Crazy ending to that Lakers game. LeBron got another chance to get a game winner but this time he passed the ball to Anthony Davis who then committed an offensive foul which ended up with the game going to overtime. They still won and LeBron moved a little closer to the record. Westbrook seemed to get a lot of crunch time minutes as well.
