I just learned about the Nets - Mavericks reported deal. It's probably what Luka needs at the moment but I doubt this is going to work out in the long-run. Someone made a comment on this that they will need two balls so they could play together hehe. Great chance for some young guys like Thomas and even Watanabe to step up.

As a long-time Dallas Mavericks fan, I don't know if I will be happy or not about that recent Irving trade. Not even sure if Irving will really be a big help to the team but with the new environment, I hope Irving will be now more focused on "only basketball".

Mavericks gave up their inconsistent role players but knowing Kyrie's way of play, it's obvious that he shared the same role with how Luka is playing. I don't know what kind of adjustment will be done to somehow balanced the play once they shared the court.

But as per the Dallas Mavericks itself, they consult Luka Doncic before agreeing on this trade. So maybe, there's already a talk between him and Irving on how things should go out. Luka will not agree on something that easily if he knows it won't be good for the team. Let's see then in the long-run.

It is not that surprising since Mavs are one of the few teams named going after Kyrie when he announces he wanted a trade. But now that he is in Dallas, he should perform really well since there is no assurance of new contract yet coming from Mavs. It is still a one year rental for Kyrie at this point. Maybe the Mavericks are still assessing if they can handle the drama that comes with acquiring Kyrie into their roster. Hopefully, Kyrie x Luka will be a hit and they finishes strong this season.

Yes they were winning some regular season games but how about the big ones? He also played with the Celtics and were winning games too but how did that end up? I agree that the coach will have to sort this out because one of them has to give way or give up something for this duo to work well come playoff time. Is the ticket price only applies to 1 game (against OKC) or 2 games (against Bucks as well)?

I asked that because the ticket is non-refundable so what if Lebron didn't make it against OKC but instead make it against the Bucks? Or another scenario, made the record-breaking against their next games instead; vs Warriors on 2/11; vs. Trail Blazers on @2/13?

Yes , that is correct. Price for Lakers games are sky rocketing right now and most of them are not even available anymore and I'm curious in what game it will happen or if will happen at all during this season. 

Meanwhile , Cavs beat Pacers and solidified their play offs spots and Kings are looking that they are heading towards another defeat even if they have play offs locked in so pressure is not so big upon them.

That will not happen unfortunately.
From vaccine issues, to don't want to play to now trade issues. Kyrie has been making dramas for a long time already. We knew that it's all over this season when we didn't heard anything about him, but now he did it "again". Will be more focused on basketball isn't applicable for him, and I believe that the Mavericks' front office will have a headache from him as well.

As for if Irving will be a big help to the team, yes and no.

Yes because Luka already got an all-star that most of us are waiting for. He tried to make a tandem with KP, but obviously it didn't work out. Now he got the best player he ever had in Dallas. Yes they both are ball-dominant players, but Luka is an excellent passer as well so maybe we may see Luka more of a pass-first guy and Kyrie as a shooter.

I also said no because of this question. What if decided to be a free agent this summer? The Mavericks lose DFS, Dinwiddie and picks for nothing. If this trade fails, the Mavericks are in trouble. They lost everything + Kyrie. Kyrie wants a 4-year max contract and I don't know if the Mavericks will give it to him knowing how hard-headed he is.

Like you said, if Luka agreed onto it then there's nothing wrong with it. I just hope that the chemistry will be build in a short amount of time because TBH, they are a championship contender team with Kyrie being with the team. Just look at the offense Kyrie can give and he's also efficient as well. Let's see how this goes, but looking on paper, the Mavericks won the trade. In the long run though, unless Kyrie will re-sign with the Mavs then they lose big time.

Well, my thoughts regarding this is that, the fans who'll buy the tickets against the OKC will have a very huge gamble to make, as LeBron needs exactly 36 pts to break the record. We all know the OKC could prevent this from happening if they want to, but let's not all try to forget that NBA is also a business, I a business may not want to disappoint their customers/fans.
However, if LeBron won't break it against OKC, well I guess tickets against the Bucks may become even more expensive lol.

The Kyrie situation seemed like it was nearly a done deal between the Nets and Lakers but as usual Kyrie has figured out a way to make everything harder for everyone. Reports are that the Lakers and Nets nearly had a deal done but Kyrie is demanding a 4-year contract and the Lakers were only willing to offer him a 2-year deal. I think with how toxic Kyrie has been on his last 3 teams, he should take the shorter deal and prove himself…

Well, that's him. The Lakers should've expected this to happen. It's like he wants to be traded but no his not. The damn brain works like a puzzle. Lebron might be really furious now after hearing that.

Just a brutal ending to that knicks game.  They were down 17 came all the way back to be up 3 with seconds to go.  Of course Clippers hit a 3 at the buzzer and won in overtime.

I think they are avoiding a 4 point play but there are always way to make the foul and see to it that the official will force that it was done on the floor and not on the air. A big mistake by the Knicks. Anyway, they played well today against the Philadelphia 76ers, James Harden cannot find his distance shots and when he plays like that they lose. Low score but ended right for the Knicks.

Of all, I am curious about how Spencer Dinwiddie will provide for the Brooklyn Nets. He was just sent back from where he belonged and I can see that he might become better out there, again. There's a need for the hole left by Kyrie to be filled and who knows if he will suddenly explode while KD is still resting from his injury. This is not a new place for him, he will easily fit in their roster. They are in the 4th place, it would be better not to waste it.

Good thing about what trade done with the dallas is they will not only rely Luka's performance they have Kyrie now who can score more points. This duo can produce good numbers already but the problem there will be there defense since if you look at there current line up maybe they might get trouble on defensive end. But for sure they can work this out to make this rooster successful.

He has good stats this season, but not sure if the impact is still the same compared to when he was still with the Warriors. This guy is really good, he is a hall of Famer but the injury problem is a big hindrance to his success.
