He is lucky on landing with GSW on prime that’s why he manage to get MVP and championship since GSW needed a good forward player that time to complete their championship run.

But before Durant, GSW is already a good contender for championship. Now that he is old I doubt he can carry a young and building team as Rockets.

Even if he wasn’t in his prime, I think the Warriors could still win a championship with him since they were already a dominant team before he joined. Durant even played against them in the WCF if I remember right, and they lost to the Warriors, that’s why he decided to join them.

That’s how he succeeded, but to me he isn’t really a “champion man” like Curry. Curry made the Warriors a championship team and carried them, with the help of his Splash Brother of course.

I definitely agree on this since Curry and Thompson that are already improved drastically after they lose against the Cavs. They already good first 5 and bench that time so even current KD or simply Wiggins can win them a championship.

Thompson is still having a monster game on that era while his average PPG is almost same with Curry or even higher.

KD think that he is the one carrying GSW while the reality the opposite.

Yeah, maybe it’s because Durant won multiple Finals MVPs during his time. But it also showed how good of a leader Curry was as he wasn’t intimidated by Durant and valued teamwork. Curry could’ve easily chased Finals MVPs if he wanted to be the main guy, but instead his presence made it easier for Durant because defenses were focused on Curry, the greatest shooter.

But what’s done is done. Curry vs Durant... well, after Durant left, Curry won another championship.
So before and after Durant, Curry was still the real beast.

This is not an issue, it was decided before that the real hero for the GSW that time was Andre Iguodala, right?  Grin Grin
It was Curry who hit triples and do play making but Durant is one key player also which you cant leave alone and kill you with daggers.
But theres no doubt that GSW gets Durant because CAVS beat the GSW.

Maybe because he became an MVP there that's why he think that he carries GSW before, but the rest of the gang proves that they don't need KD on their team to win a championship and it happens. Everything is a group effort and KD cannot claim those things if there's a statement that he carried Warriors way back before.

But now KD is struggling to win a championship then became a journeyman. But let see if he can carry the young Rockets team since somehow he could be a good leader especially that he is the veteran star on their team. Every

They are now very much interesting especially that lots of fans thinks about that they are automatically a title contender especially that Durant is in Rockets now.

Rockets lost some players too when they got Durant. The risk here is if Durant gets injured, their season might be over. It’s a new-look Rockets team, and I get that they needed to make changes since with the current roster they might not advance. Last season they lost to the Warriors with Jimmy, so they couldn’t afford to keep the same lineup and risk another early playoff exit- that’s not good.

But with Durant, it’s a huge gamble. They traded Jalen Green, who is still young and could still develop, and Dillon Brooks, who brought a lot of energy to the floor.
Honestly, I have a feeling they’ll end up with a worse season compared to the last.

Perhaps Rockets is already tired on Jalen Green since he is mot developing for good due to his inconsistency that is noticeable last season. He is so cold and doesn’t perform as expected to him which is the reason why Rockets early exit against GSW.

Rockets is putting all their chips to other young talent that is consistent such as Sengun and Thompson.

Durant as addition will give a boost despite he is not prime anymore. His skills and experience is still worthy to be acquired.

Warriors Rejected Eight-Year NBA Veteran in Jonathan Kuminga Trade Offer
https://www.si.com/nba/warriors/news/warriors-rejected-eight-year-nba-veteran-in-jonathan-kuminga-trade-offer
Quote
The Suns reportedly offered "Royce O'Neal and second-round compensation" for Kuminga, which the Warriors were not flattered by.

The Golden State Warriors are still trying to claim Kuminga back. Here is another report.

Warriors reportedly increased offer to Jonathan Kuminga, but staring contest continues as deadline approaches
Yahoo Sports

Quote
The Warriors, in turn, have wanted to bring Kuminga back on a shorter, less lucrative pact: a reported two-year, $45 million standing offer with a team option on the second year that would require Kuminga to waive the de facto no-trade clause he’d receive as a player signing for one guaranteed season with a team that holds his Bird rights.

Why not offer a first five role? I think that is what he is asking if it ain't about the money. The Suns also offered $80m for 4 years, so the Warriors' offer is higher, plus the team option.
I also believe that he wants to be an ace. He doesn't want to be a defensive player for the team only. He wants to score and showcase his offensive skills, and that won't happen with Curry around.

But this drama will end very soon.

It seems Giannis still can't stomach the loss and continues to attack the Turks. Osmani and Şengün, who humiliated him on the court, will probably haunt his nightmares for many months to come. Meanwhile, Şengün, who was one of the NBA's top 10 players last season, has now proven with this tournament that he is better than Giannis and has reached Jokic's level. We will see a very different Şengün this season. Their chances of winning the championship with Durant are very high.

Ben Simmons breaks his silence on his rumored retirement by saying one word.  "No."

His agent famously dropped him last month for not being willing to accept a league minimum contract and there hasn't been any interest in him anywhere else.  I assume he's going to wait until the last minute and then sign with a contender for a decent check in hopes he can provide that little lift to get them through the playoffs.  It's clear he's only in it for the money at this point though.  Nobody should offer him a deal.  His situation reminds me of the end of Andrew Bynum's career.

I think it all started during the Olympics that both Steph and Lebron have said that they like to play with each other before they retire. And if that is what Lakers is going to materialize with and they're going to trade Lebron for that, he's sure that he'd accepted it already. He's about to retire and only 1 season left to play and he's happy already that his son is on the league. It's wise for the Lakers to get rid of Lebron for a younger player that they can have with Luka.

Competition wise it's best for them to trade him for much younger and capable star/s, but business wise, LeBron is LeBron his name value their merchants and keeping him with the team means that business will continue, not sure if Lakers management will treat him that way, if they are willing to send him to another team particularly with GSW, but concluding is not for us since anything can happen especially if the money is right for the offers.

I have an opposite take.  I think business wise they should get rid of him and get all they can now rather than lose him for nothing, but competition wise...  LeBron and Luka together with Ayton have a real shot at winning a championship this season.  The problem is that if they do, LeBron leaves at the end of the year to either retire, or join Golden State and go one last year with Steph.  I don't think LeBron wants to play with Luka and I think he'd rather play with Steph, but he'll hurt the team if they have to give up pieces for him.  It's a strange situation.  Almost like LeBron is putting rumors out there in hopes of being released.  LOL.  I don't believe there will be a trade, but the rumor mill is certainly suggesting it is going to happen.

No doubt that LeBron has his name attached to his but he's about to retire and if the Lakers are still willing to invest on that, they only have one year left for them to make this team very strong. I agree with Og that if it's business wise, they could capitalize on a longer roster because once he leaves, the team will have to fill a bigger gap again on their roster. While it can be more players just to catch up his value but it's better to have a player that can be trained and play along with Luka since they already have that star. I don't think they've taken Luka just for them to trade him and Lebron is more tradable and they can do that as early as now before the season starts.

At this point, it’s either he accepts a minimum salary or he retires. What team would pay him more than the minimum if he’s just like that? Dude hasn’t achieved anything since getting drafted aside from a big paycheck while sitting. Lol. He lacks the passion for winning. He’s a facilitator, and so is Haliburton, but we can see their huge difference. Haliburton can score and shows his determination, but Simmons? Nah. He just averaged 2.9 points last season and still thinks he’ll get a decent offer, more than minimum. Lol.

Lebron sellable and they won't trade him because like it or not LeBron at his age can still fill the gap of the team he can score, rebound block, what else do you need, trading him will just powering down the rooster, but the problem is if James ask to be trade they can do nothing but to trade him, or op-out and go to a team, still LeBron has the say, and the lakers don't want that to happen, although old is already attach his value never goes down.

Not every young player can perform as well as LeBron at his current age. In other words, it won't be easy for the Lakers to find an equal replacement for him if he leaves.

I agree that Sengun seems to be the superstar they are going to build around for the future, dude is only 23 years old, so they have at least 5 more years of him getting better, and reaching prime, and then who knows how long his prime will be, as long as he doesn't get a terrible injury, he will be their future. They already got FVV for their veteran, now they got Durant as well who we all know is a superstar.

So only thing left for them is pieces around these three players, Amen is great, Jabari isn't bad, Tari is decent too. They are really going for the whole "win now" mentality while they have such squad, and worst case, if they do not, they can give Durant and FVV and get some picks or young talent instead and keep building around their young core.

Perhaps they have a lot of options even if they give up Jalen Green. They still have Amen and Jabari to cover for that. And now that Sengun has another experience under his belt in the recent FIBA EURO wherein they won the Silver, it might translate that in this coming season as he is more robust and smarter now.

So it's a complete set for the Rockets now, I think KD can still give them big performance like last season when he was still in Phoenix. It's not that him and Booker really didn't click and the team lack the second unit or role players that's why they always feel short in the dying minutes.

Not every young player can perform as well as LeBron at his current age. In other words, it won't be easy for the Lakers to find an equal replacement for him if he leaves.
On the other hand, if Curry and LeBron want to play together and win another ring, the Warriors management should improve the roster a lot.

That last statement is something that GSW management's needs to address, if they can go that far in acquiring LeBron they need lots of supporting role players to address the needs to win another title, not easy in terms of winning  another ring though business wise, having both in same uniform will bring them potential huge profits. Knowing how fans especially the Dub nation and those who loves LeBron whatever uniform he's using.
