Bleacher Report's TOP 10 Players in NBA History
1 Michael Jordan 2 LeBron James 3 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4 Magic Johnson 5 Bill Russell 6 Shaquille O'Neal 7 Tim Duncan 8 Larry Bird 9 Wilt Chamberlain 10 Stephen Curry
Don't you think it's ridiculous that Kobe Branyt isn't on this list? Kobe Branyt could have been there instead of Stephen Curry or he could have been higher. But I'm certain Kobe Branyt was better than Stephen Curry. It seems unfair to Kobe Branyt for not being on this list. I don't know what you think, but he should have been on the list.
This is from what basis? scoring, impact to the game or just being an individual. I would have to agree that Kobe should be in that list but who he is going to replace for top 10? Well, we can make our own top 10's and that's for Bleacher's Report and there is nothing we can do if that's the top 10 that they have for their list. I think if the basis is about consistency, these are the most consistent players but all of them have their games where they were unfortunate and didn't contributed much so that might be a factor for BR's list.

These kinds of lists are subjective. Everyone has their own personal list but there are certain players who appear on almost everyone's all-time greats list. The rankings may vary but names like Jordan, LeBron, Magic, Kareem, Bird and Wilt are always there.
Yeah, exactly. I wouldn’t argue with Jordan being at the No. 1 spot as he was insanely popular during his era, and having witnessed it myself, I totally get it. But I was surprised to see LeBron at No. 2. Personally, I think Kobe should be right up there. Even Jordan himself said Kobe was the only player who could truly match him, so it makes sense he should be next in line. And looking at the list, Kobe’s not even in the top 10? That’s wild. As for other players, I think Curry will definitely make the list once he retires.

In my personal top 10, neither Kobe nor Curry make the cut. I can name plenty of players I'd rank ahead of them. Which brings me back to what I said at the start. It's impossible to create a definitive all-time ranking.
We can all come up with our own top 10, but there’s only one real GOAT, MJ, the living legend. That part’s not even up for debate. Bleacher Report has their own list, but maybe here on Bitcointalk we can make our own. Let’s just start a thread and have people vote. And honestly, the fact that so many fans are jumping into the convo shows that people here really follow the league. The more discussion, the more you see how popular the NBA is in this community.

Yes, for me, no offense to the fans of Boston, or Larry Bird, I also grow on that era as well, watching the 80's era with him and Magic Johnson and their rivalry. But I wouldn't consider him in my top 10. I will removed him and insert Kobe Bryant in the list. But I do also agree that it's subjective, Jordan vs James have been in the discussion for the GOAT and they played in the different era so hard to compare. One thing that credited Steph Curry to be in the list is that he completely change the game and now the best shooter in the NBA hands down. Tim Duncan, yes I will include the big fundamentals as the best PF as he did established San Antonio's legacy and dynasty.

I get what you're saying. As you mentioned, everyone can have their own list of "GOAT list," and I agree with you on that. In my opinion, Kobe Bryant should have been on the list, but for you, that may or may not be the case. I grew up in the era of Kobe and LeBron, they were the greatest back then.
Also, I’m not exactly sure what criteria Bleacher Report used to create their ranking.

Well, everyone is entitled with their opinion and I think that if you think that Steph didn't have much impact on the GSW's championships, many will be against you. But that's fine, as you have said too, we've got our own lists about that. To be honest, I have one on my list that's not even there. Dirk Nowitzki has got the hardest championship with Wade, James and Bosh on their prime, Dirk with Kidd and the rest of the Mavs roster on that era have overcome that obstacle of having super teams.

Kobe truly deserves to be there, no doubt, but the same thing for others. That makes it really tough. I'm pretty sure the people who made that list also had a hard time deciding. Some say Curry was just a sidekick, but can those players achieve what they did without Curry? Curry is Curry, no matter what they say. His impact on the NBA speaks for itself.

Yup, Kobe is one of those talents who brings the basketball to another level, after MJ left the league Kobe was one of the faces of NBA, though those names from the list are players who also bring big impact to the game, we can't push anyone as all of us do have our own perspectives and own likes, if whoever create the list they've got their own qualification and they've got their own opinions to why they set it to this list.

Do we seriously want to talk about that Steph shouldn't be on this list? ? If anybody doesn't belong in the top 10 it's Shaq, by far. His game was so limited and his biggest attribute was his statue, that's it. Steph changed the game by himself. Kobe should be in the top 10 as well, but Shaq doesn't belong in my opinion.

No one can really be compared to Jordan, he’s in a league of his own. But if we’re gonna have a debate, it makes more sense to compare Kobe and LeBron and take MJ out of the picture. When it comes to championships, Kobe has 5 rings while LeBron has 4. Now look at this: Kobe made 7 Finals appearances and went 5-2. LeBron has been to the Finals 10 times, but he’s 4-6. So even though LeBron reached the Finals more often, Kobe made the most out of his chances. That alone says a lot. And if you really look at LeBron’s Finals losses, there were a few blowouts where his teams weren’t even close: 2007: 0-4 vs Spurs 2011: 2-4 vs Mavericks (and this was already with the Heat) 2014: 1-4 vs Spurs 2015: 2-4 vs Warriors 2017: 1-4 vs Warriors 2018: 0-4 vs WarriorsSo, more appearances, but a lot of those weren’t even competitive. Kobe, on the other hand, rarely let those moments slip. That's why, for me, he edges out LeBron.

I'm an NBA fan and I've been watching NBA since I was 8 years. And for me, ESPN's Top 10 NBA players list is quite reasonable imo. But if I were to decide or make my on list, I would remove Wilt Chamberlain because he has the fewest championship rings on that list and ill replace him with Kobe Bryant. Here's how I would rank them: 1. Bill Russell 2. Michael Jordan 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. LeBron James 5. Tim Duncan 6. Kobe Bryant 7. Magic Johnson 8. Stephen Curry 9. Larry Bird 10. Shaquille O’Neal

What’s shocking on this list is Shaq is on the 6th spot while Kobe is not on the list even though he is much better than Shaq in terms of impact and carrying the team. I have no data about old players so I can’t remove any of them but only want to justify that Kobe is much better than Shaq in terms of contributions so he should be on higher spot.

there will always a doubt and debate on every top 10-5-3 or the goat,. because we are human, we are people! we have different taste and like. There will be no same top 10 for 100% of people. For me to know who is better on the court is the stats, ttheres no more talk. Numbers dont lie, stats will give you the answwer oif how the man play in the court. They have diifferent opponent or era, but they have the same court and roud ball! SO, questioning other's top 10 iis not good, it will just go to debate. Just like this, do you think that solid GSW or STEPH fans will agree on your answer? some might say yes, but most of them will just tell you the numbers or the 3points. not good. ust accept it and give e your top 10.

There is an awful lot of LeBron James trade talk happening for something to not be in the works. What I’m reading from good sources is that LeBron James is going to Dallas.
Indeed, I feel the same, Kobe should be in the Top 10. But looking at the list, it's hard to remove anyone to make room for him. It's easy to say that they have to put Curry out on the list because he's not as explosive as Kobe and the others who makes so much play. I'm just kind of in awe when people underestimate Curry but that's fine. People recognize who are fans of him that he's also impactful to the games that they play. And while the others are improving their outside shooting, he's already there and have been focused on it, making leads and him as a headache of their opponents.

Stephen Curry would absolutely be in my top 10 to be honest. He is the highest number of 3-PT scorer in history now. His shooting has been at an insane level. He has a very special place in NBA history. I couldn't watch most of the old stars live of course. I can't make a healthy decision among them. But at least I can say that MJ and LeBron would be at top in my list as well. They are really the legends of this sport.

There is an awful lot of LeBron James trade talk happening for something to not be in the works. What I’m reading from good sources is that LeBron James is going to Dallas. They’re planning to keep Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving, which makes me think we may see Klay Thompson and Cooper Flagg included in a deal…
I've heard of the rumors but not with the Dallas Mavericks. Well, Cooper is a good trading asset for the Mavs and I think that Nico wants it that way. He'd protect the other assets that they have if some trades have to happen. Having AD and Kyrie with Lebron, it's not a new roster to build with but they've got connections already and they've been teammates before. And so, if the possibility is there, I'm sure that it's gonna shock the world with that trade. And the other rumor is that Lebron might just get out and retire for this next season although it's unlikely because teams are still on him even for the last dance that he might do this season.

If LeBron James moves to Dallas, what will happen to Bronny? I don’t think the Lakers will keep him, they’ll probably let him go as soon as possible. Also, I’m not sure which team would want to sign Bronny; most teams likely won’t be interested in adding him to their roster. LeBron, Davis, and Irving would form a strong trio that could compete for a championship. However, trading away Cooper Flagg could be a mistake, since all of those players are already aging. With the right additions, Dallas could become a serious contender next season.

I don't think Cooper Flagg will be included in any trade. When was the last time a number 1 draft pick was traded to another team before even playing a single game? Especially someone this hyped? Then again, with the Mavericks, you can never rule anything out. It's understandable that LeBron would want to join a stronger team for one last try for a championship. This could very well be his final season. The Lakers just don't have enough depth. Even if they make the play-offs, it'll probably end in an early exit.
