Maybe they still think that Kawhi still has something in him to bring the Clippers to win a ring. But it's obvious that he is no longer in his prime, or even if he plays good, it's not an assurance as he is more fragile every year.

I guess this is wake up call for the Clippers already. But not sure about the Lakers, if that is true then they might fall for the Leonard trick again and hopefully they will make the right decision for that.
Anyone who watched NBA for the last 5 years would think Kawhi could win anyone a ring. Sure he went from winning a title to Clippers, and at that point you may think that was possible. But, it's only acceptable to think it was possible back then, ever since then, he has been injured and not playing many games, and specially in important ones.

Yeah, but with that kind of body, knees giving out, wear and tear, could be difficult to see how that will hold up. His last championship is with the Raptors and that was many years ago. After that he goes to the Clippers and everyone thought that he can duplicate what he has accomplished, but so far if I'm not mistaken, the Clippers did go only in the first round and lost.

So when you have a super star, that can make you go to playoffs barely, and he doesn't even play enough to make that happen? It's clear that Clippers are not going to benefit from him. I am going to make it public and say that Kawhi will not get a max contract ever again after this one is done. He is officially a veteran minimum player, no longer going to make a dime more than that.

I do agree, we've seen also that recently in the case of WB, there are still some who thinks that he is still in his prime and a caliber player. But the former MVP is just a shell of himself and for this season, no team has absorb him.

It seems Jimmy Butler can’t help but check in with the Warriors’ front office. Understandable, since he joined the Warriors chasing his first ring, but the team isn’t really doing anything right now. They’re not adding anyone who could actually help, while other teams are stacking up their rosters for a strong comeback. The Warriors’ trio already expressed they want Kuminga back, but the real question is, will the Warriors give him more playing time and a bigger paycheck? I don't think so.
As far as paycheck, it's obvious that the Warriors are not willing to give Kuminga that. They are firm on their offer to him and Kuminga doesn't like that and was looking to get out but so far no one is really taking the bite out of it. Second, for the playing time, we will see, it's now on the shoulder of Kerr, he will have to make some adjustment if he will be given by the management the go signal to play Kuminga with more minutes so that it is still going to be a win win for them. And they have this history of not making any big moves in the free agency, but just getting players of support rule so everyone should not be surprised by what they are doing right now as if this is the norm for the Warriors. As long as they keep their core, they think that they can be fine.

That's the thing they are not giving the offer that Kuminga wants to have, they are still firm with what they can provide. In terms of playing time, it's on coach Kerr and how the core key players will demand to play him and give him that exposures, still young and with his skills and height he can excel if enough playing time and sets of plays will be execute for him.

Let see if what move GSW management will do as the season is getting nearer to begin, though still have time if ever knowing GSW management, they are capable if they really wanted to offer.

Leonard five years ago and now are two different players, so to speak. Although he also missed a lot of games five years ago, he was in his prime. But in recent seasons, his statistics have declined significantly, and objectively speaking, he is now overrated. I mean that his current contract, worth $50 million per season, is unreasonably high.

Yes, I do agree that he is overrated now, he haven't had any full blown season since his championship run with the Raptors if I'm not mistaken. But then again, the Clippers might still think that Kawhi can be their franchise player, hence they keep on extending him with huge contract while letting go of Paul George.

After the Raptors, Leonard's career have just went straight to being a mediocre player. I guess, everyone will agree that he's now overrated. He have done nothing after winning with the Raptors. Missing a lot of games which is very vital to their team as a preparation for the playoffs, but they fail miserably over and over again.
The Clippers should look for a legitimate franchise player. Leonard is not that person obviously, and he's near retirement.

Not to take anything from the Raptors and Kawhi, but isn't it that Durant got injured and also Klay Thompson during that series that's why it was an easy route for them? But then Kawhi look for a greener pasteur as it was reported that his uncle demanded a portion of the Raptors (at least that's what I read since the exposure of him and his uncle and their dealings).

Now Kawhi really looks bad as it open the book of him and his uncle and most likely after his ordeal him and the Clippers are going to have a bitter divorce. And obviously the loser are the Clippers and Ballmer as Kawhi was not even close to deliver anything for them during his stay.

I do agree, we've seen also that recently in the case of WB, there are still some who thinks that he is still in his prime and a caliber player. But the former MVP is just a shell of himself and for this season, no team has absorb him.

Sad not seeing him in the NBA anymore, but I don’t think his career ends here. Other leagues will definitely take him if he wants to keep playing. Just look at guys like Lance Stephenson, Jeremy Lin (retired), Dwight Howard, even Cam Reddish, they’re no longer in the NBA but still doing well in other leagues.

It feels like the NBA gave up on him too soon. he already cemented his legacy as the triple-double guy, and that will stick forever no matter where he plays next.

I hope OKC gets Wb even a veteran contract, he is the one who carry the team when Durant leave okc, also best to retire in okc, i just think the guy can still play, and can contribute to a team not like before but he can mentor players, but if not for sure we can still see him play on other league outside of the US, he has lots on his tank, its just the competition is tight those injuries really change his game, i wish the explosiveness returns but no his a bit old now.

This is possible considering OKC is a balanced team which means they might be interested for a veteran player that will lead their young roster.

But I doubt this will happened immediately as they are already locking in their core young players for more years before they will be hit by luxury tax since the rate of their core players is already skyrocketing.

They have a very good bench players which I doubt they are willing to sacrifice just to acquire WB.

The Warriors management already tried the bigger paycheck. It's the playtime that they cannot promise.

He is ambitious. That's a fact. His agent, Aaron Turner, cannot force him to sign a contract if the player is not in agreement with him. The Warriors already increased the amount in the contract twice if I am not mistaken, but the young player Kuminga won't budge.
He wants play time and to be a star, but the problem is the Warriors now have their trio, and he will have to wait for his turn. The only other option is to find another team that will accept him as a star, but it seems it won't happen soon.

This kuminga issue is now taking in media and its not going right, this might me a distraction on the team the offer now is quite good and there is no other offer bigger, my question is why did the warriors give this earlier, they have brought the issue back and forth and now giving him a good deal why not earlier, kuminga now has to decided and has to prove it this coming season, if he has limited minutes his value is going down, and if he will now show up.

I don't think that it's the contract that's the reason why he still doesn't have a team right now. It's the fact that nobody wants him to be in a team for some reasons. Maybe his inconsistencies to cope up with how the league is right now which is more focused on 3-pt shooting which BTW is where he's lacking. Maybe he's a liability on defense? For whatever reason it is, I'm pretty sure right now that it isn't the contract that's the reason why he's still out.

I really do hope that there's somebody out there that will give him even just a minimum contract, but I wonder which team will it be. It's just a bit unfortunate that after how he played back when he's in OKC, many forgotten that already and what the people remembered is his fails back when he's a Laker. They remember it more than the achievements that he got in his early years. Well, can't blame the fans though if that's what they think about him. I still believe that he can still play outside the NBA just in case he doesn't get a contract, or maybe play in the league where Stephenson and Beasley is playing right now?

Anyone who watched NBA for the last 5 years would think Kawhi could win anyone a ring. Sure he went from winning a title to Clippers, and at that point you may think that was possible. But, it's only acceptable to think it was possible back then, ever since then, he has been injured and not playing many games, and specially in important ones.

They are wasting resources for those matter and to bad they cannot heavily rely on Kawhi since if his not injured they are afraid that Kawhi would be in that situation.

That's why it will be so hard for Clippers to win a championship with Kawhi especially that they are struggling to maintain his health. Now that they are facing serious issue and Kawhi is in big trouble for sure Clippers will get heavily affected on those controversy.

Maybe its time for them to rebuild and look for young talents that have great potential, they should look at what OKC did and they became successful with those efforts they made for so many years.
To be fair, Kawhi is ALWAYS injured and that is why it's not going to help their case, they are not going to make any returns on his investment. This isn't easy but it is not impossible neither, we should not be looking into this like it's something that would be a lot better.

If you really want to make money on this, I mean if clippers do, then the best way would be just hope that his contract is void, that way they will not have to pay him. Waiving him is the best way to move forward, there isn't anything else to do. Kawhi never helped them with anything, and even if he was 82 games healthy + playoffs, the squad isn't good enough around Kawhi to win the title as well. We shouldn't really expect him to do that great, it is not going to happen.

The problem is consistency at the same time health khawi injury sometimes comes when it matters, that is why they unable to make it, aside from that harden playoffs woes never ends sometimes off sometimes on, how will you make to the finals if you are so unreliable, i mean, those two need to go, they need to rebuild again, stop wasting resources, and make a brand new start.

It's noteworthy that in his entire NBA career, Kawhi has not played in all 82 games in a single regular season. In fact, statistically, over 13 seasons in the NBA, he has averaged only 56 games per season. So it turns out that Kawhi is even more prone to injury than Anthony Davis.

That statistic is correct. It’s hard to expect Kawhi to really help the team at this point. Feels like it’s all hype now, he’s already accomplished a lot, but I don’t see the same hunger anymore. And that injury problem has always been a big issue, especially when it hits during the playoffs.

Now with this new controversy, I’m starting to believe even more that the Clippers won’t be a championship contender this coming season.

Yes, I do agree, in his prime, WB broke the Big O record, which we think is untouchable, next to Wilt's 100. But then WB really played the best of his career and broke it anyway. It will be fitting if OKC will get him back and then retire his number. That is very fitting on the career of WB.

And the season is about to start, we haven't heard any time that is interested on him. So maybe outside the league, if there is no hesitation and pride on himself, maybe he will accept it if there will be outside offers for him.

He's lock in hall of famer for nothing. We could see lots of major accomplishment done by Westbrook while playing on NBA.

WB got MVP award way back 2017, x9 all star, 9x NBA selection and all time leader on triple doubles.

But its sad to see the trajectory of his career now since its seems that his career will have a sad ending. If OKC would able to get him then maybe they can help him to have a more memorable retirement and for sure lots of people would love to see this. But unfortunately it seems that OKC and WB reunion might not going to happen anymore.

I believe he will just be used to fill in the roster. Maybe a veteran contract again. I agree that WB should be taken by the OKC Thunder again. Just let him retire where he played most, and maybe he could get 1 championship if ever the Thunder gets a back-to-back championship. I mean, those guys are young, and they are now champions. They might have a veteran who can boost their energy and be hungry to win one more.

That's one main problem with every champion after they win it. They will lose the goal to get one more, which is why back-to-back champions are really amazing.

It’s not about they lose interest on getting a new championship rather the team roster was immediately changed after the championship and trading bench players that to the championship while other champion team struggle to make their roster healthy until the finals.

OKC is a different story since they have young line-up while they didn’t shuffle their roster and still play this year with same role players.

They are always dominant even before so with their championship experience they are now very tough to beat on the playoffs and finals.

Brody might be landing in the hawks since they don't have a second unit point guard, he might be also be in the starting five when it comes to crunch time because of his experience, lets see if the hawks will sign him, and how will he fit with Trae, i want this team to reach the finals, they have been always in the playoffs but never been to the finals, one reason is LeBron, hopefully someday they will attract a talent that can carry them to the ring.

And the season is about to start, we haven't heard any time that is interested on him. So maybe outside the league, if there is no hesitation and pride on himself, maybe he will accept it if there will be outside offers for him.

But with the current situation of the Thunder, they've sign their big 3 with huge contracts already, so I don't think they still have the luxury to sign WB although there is a chance if he is willing to go under a contract with a veteran minimum.

But this got me thinking, I mean OKC is very solid already and they can even duplicate and become the team that will have a back to back championship. So they don't want to break that momentum. What I'm saying is that getting WB might be a bad thing for thing and it can have dire effect on the rotation.
