I believe he will just be used to fill in the roster. Maybe a veteran contract again. I agree that WB should be taken by the OKC Thunder again. Just let him retire where he played most, and maybe he could get 1 championship if ever the Thunder gets a back-to-back championship. I mean, those guys are young, and they are now champions. They might have a veteran who can boost their energy and be hungry to win one more.
That's one main problem with every champion after they win it. They will lose the goal to get one more, which is why back-to-back champions are really amazing.
But with the current situation of the Thunder, they've sign their big 3 with huge contracts already, so I don't think they still have the luxury to sign WB although there is a chance if he is willing to go under a contract with a veteran minimum. But this got me thinking, I mean OKC is very solid already and they can even duplicate and become the team that will have a back to back championship. So they don't want to break that momentum. What I'm saying is that getting WB might be a bad thing for thing and it can have dire effect on the rotation. Having Westbrook come back to OKC would be purely symbolic, but I do believe that this would be effective only under the condition of both parties being reasonable. The Thunder are young and deep and already developing chemistry, and thus the acquisition of WB should be more of a tribute to his legacy than a prodigal of huge minutes. Having him on board in a limited capacity as a veteran minimum deal would be logical, particularly in case he wishes to retire as a Thunder. Anything beyond that could upset their balance that they already possess. There are occasions where the most appropriate manner of ending a career is by getting back home, yet the future of the team must be achieved first.

Westbrook choke most of the time and it can affect the OKC crucial moments when he inserted on their current rotation that working perfectly. OKC already have Caruso and Dort for hustle play against while both of them can do score when needed unlike Westbrook that usually have an on and off game. Maybe he will not given a minute on close game and spend most of his time on bench which I doubt WB will like.

I do agree that he is overrated now, he haven't had any full blown season since his championship run with the Raptors if I'm not mistaken. But then again, the Clippers might still think that Kawhi can be their franchise player, hence they keep on extending him with huge contract while letting go of Paul George.
But with all the drama right now, all eyes are on the Kawhi and what if the investigations find him guilty? What will happen to his career? Maybe there will teams that are going to pick him up, but the damage and then him no longer in his prime might be a big hindrance for him to get another great contract.
That season when Spurs beat Miami and Lebron's Miami out of all of that, with Kawhi being FMVP that season made him very valuable but he got injured and his career at Spurs got cut short, and there were a lot of drama there too, and Spurs got rid of him. Then at Raptors he won another title and FMVP which skewed peoples opinions about him, and that caused him to have a lot of different results, it's clear that we were looking into this as something that would take a while, and because of that we shouldn't really be worried about it. So we need to realize his Raports and Spurs period made him look like he can do so much, but in reality he wasn't that great and he was never a great one because he won only when he played, but he rarely ever played.

Kawhi is a monster versatile player that is good both offense and defense. His Raptors time proven how great he is for carrying the team to championship with not an all-star line-up. His defense is so tough to beat he can do shot both mid range and long range with the capability to drive. The only downside on acquiring him is he play less when he suffers a recent injury but his current year on Clippers is a great season for him.

I really think there's no problem with that situation if Westbrook would just learn to adapt on the role given to him by OKC if it happens that this team would get him. If he ask to much like getting plenty of time and still above of those young potential talents on OKC then maybe those situations would truly can affect their system and those crucial situations they are facing on. Westbrook is undeniably declining that's why he really need to accept the fact that he's not the main or the star of his team. If he agree to what is the new role will be given to him there's good chance that this reunion might gonna happen or there are other team might give him another shot to prove his self that he's still a great player just like what people know before.

It's noteworthy that in his entire NBA career, Kawhi has not played in all 82 games in a single regular season. In fact, statistically, over 13 seasons in the NBA, he has averaged only 56 games per season. So it turns out that Kawhi is even more prone to injury than Anthony Davis.
That statistic is correct. It’s hard to expect Kawhi to really help the team at this point. Feels like it’s all hype now, he’s already accomplished a lot, but I don’t see the same hunger anymore. And that injury problem has always been a big issue, especially when it hits during the playoffs. Now with this new controversy, I’m starting to believe even more that the Clippers won’t be a championship contender this coming season. Considering also that he's not getting any younger and that injury really hurting his career, and with this new controversy, like you said the chance of being a contender this season might be at far, not unless everyone on his team will bring that intensity to cover him and allow him to have the kind of rest that he needs to keep him away from getting or triggering his injury and have a better chance to play more games.

That's also a problem Leonard age and injury, at the same time the inconsistency of the team, they could have been in the west finals couple of times but other players having on and off night is also making things worse aside from Leonard injury, they need to have a plan when the time when those star players are having more injuries than playing time, i mean they need to have a future plans, or else they will be again at the bottom.

Those 1st round pick slot in the future usually the team back up plan whenever their star player are already showing sign of weakness due to age. Each team already secures many first and 2nd round pick which they can use to rebuild the team while they already have young talent on their bench that they are developing on their own. Current Clippers line-up is a glass cannon. It’s strong if they can maintain the team health 100% all of the time but it will collapse badly if key player like Kawhi and Harden will suffer injury.

Kawhi never helped them with anything, and even if he was 82 games healthy + playoffs, the squad isn't good enough around Kawhi to win the title as well. We shouldn't really expect him to do that great, it is not going to happen.

We can say that they are pretty much stack up before, but not sure what really happens to Clippers, it's like the team is curse. When they gotten Paul George, we thought that they can be a contender. But him and Kahwi didn't click or shall we say that they didn't play that much because of the injuries. They've supposed to be the duo that will make the Clippers a great team again. However, it was not meant to be, now it seems that they should be thinking of rebuilding again after the Kawhi case and perhaps trade him already after the investigation is released to the public and who is guilty or not.

Isn't it ironic though, or maybe we can say that he is overrated then if we look at the numbers behind his NBA career. Maybe his win with San Antonio is because the team is already has the culture and if I'm not mistaken, Tim Duncan was still there when they won so it's most likely Tim and other veterans are the one that really bring them the ring? Same with the Raptors, KD and Klay Thompson got injured in that series. Pascal Siakam is also adding and providing them good numbers as well same with Fred and their veteran guard that I forgot the name.

I think Leonard have medical dispute made before even if Spurs has declared that he's already fine. I think he seek for second opinion and since I think he didn't feel that he's fine at that time. Also Leonard think that he's been mishandled by Spurs at that time that's why there's tension growing. Then he's been traded and rest is history then he became a champion in Raptors. But maybe if he didn't became an injury prone player maybe he could do more better for his career and aligned with those HOF guy, but unfortunately those issues stop him to be like those guys on top.

I still remember the reason why he became an injury-prone player. It all started with that dirty play by the Warriors’ Zaza Pachulia that got him injured in the playoffs. After that, the team could no longer win without him. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much players take care of themselves, with a dirty opponent, something like this can happen.

Yes he is an elite defender and a scorer, he's spurs career is also better, although we don't exactly know what has been the problem, but in the last few remaining season in the spurs are starting to get bitter, and in the end he has been traded, it could have been better if he will be the next face of the spurs, but did not end well, in the clippers he is always hurt, could they make it this year we don't know west is getting better and younger.

To be fair, Kawhi Leonard played 68 games, second most of his life I think but not sure, in 23-24 season at Clippers. They finished 51-31 that season, even with 14 games missed by Kawhi. And that season they ended up being 4th in the western conference which proves that he is a good player when he plays. You know what was the end result? They were out at first round and that was the best. I think it is clear that even a healthy Kawhi isn't enough for them to do anything and we have already seen the proof of that. Clippers needs to realize, they are the "other" Los Angeles team and will never be good. I think the best would seriously be just move to some other city, start rebuilding, and get Kawhi out, and try to gather many picks. Owner wanted them to move to Seattle, and bring Supersonics back, that could be a huge idea.

Do we have some Laker fans here? What can you say about Robert Horry's suggestion? https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/lakers-news-why-robert-horry-thinks-la-should-trade-austin-reavesWhy Robert Horry thinks the Lakers should trade Austin Reaves“If the Lakers were smart, they would do a sign-and-trade,” Horry wrote. “And the reason I say that is because when you have a team with two players who are pretty much the same, meaning Luka and AR, and I'm not saying they have the same skill set. They play the same position, they pretty much do the same thing. It's a wash. And don't get me wrong, I love AR and I think he could play, but you don't need two of the same players. You think about the NBA is all about a fit. You look at all the great teams, they all have something different. There's no two no Jokers. There's no two Giannises, no two Shai Gilgeouses.” Is it really a problem to have two guards in the same position? Sure, they could use the trade to gain more shooters, but I think AR being there could help secure some of their problems if ever Luka were injured. Is it a waste of salary cap? AR could also shoot, and he is a good player. Adjustments could be made, and they can make him focus on shooting if both play at the same time.

Agreed on this. Lakers is too popular to be overshadowed by other team located on same city. The owner target the LA market which has a lot of potential customers on their venue regardless of being a 2nd team since LA has a lot of basketball fan. I don’t know about reviving back supersonics since I believe can start a new team instead of keep sharing the spotlight to other known team.

Might be the next step that they need if the management still wanted to chase for that ring, though we really can't tell what they aiming possible also that they just wanted to continue business and even Kahwi not that playing much, as long as he still in their uniform the fans will still buying merchants and tickets, everything will be reveal itself once the investigation comes up, the concluding part of Kawhi's contract might be announce either they'll keep him or they will trade him up.

“If the Lakers were smart, they would do a sign-and-trade,” Horry wrote. AR could also shoot, and he is a good player. Adjustments could be made, and they can make him focus on shooting if both play at the same time. His suggestion is valid since AR is a starter player too same with Luka so there’s a conflict on position. This will work if the other player will change his role or dedicate himself as second unit point guard as substitute for Luka. AR already have a decent value which Lakers can use to trade for a better role player that can compliment Luka play style since they will focus more on Luka now when building their roster. AR is a good PG but Luka is much better.

Honestly speaking, I thought he must have played at least once before he got injured at Spurs. I mean it's clear that we have seen Kawhi play greatly there from his rookie season to his leaving, but on his last years, because of injury, he did not play, and Spurs literally got doctors check him out and his results and said that he isn't injured enough to be sidelined and should be playing, and Kawhi made a big scene out of it. When the most well oiled machine type of management and the team that is known for doing the best for every player, ends up telling someone they can play, and they reject and create chaos, you have to understand it's the player that is the problem. As a Spurs fan, I knew it, and I am happy that everyone else can see it now.
