1. since when are people under the impression bitsyncom = avalon-asic? they are two different sites with completely different purposes.

2. the support url is http://support.avalon-asic.com not the forum.bitsyn.com which I've retired about a month ago already...

As for new information, we are still dealing with the custom issues I've previously mentioned, but Jeff should receive his units within this week, and everything will be clear then.

All team member is running around deal with other issues like securing parts for next batch of orders and such, to put things in perspective we have cleaned the market of some certain parts like resistors and capacitors. We have to order directly from factories now, mountain of work to do.

to keep things interesting, here's a picture.

I wish that picture had something else next to it so I could get an idea as to how big it actually is. . .  and how about some videos?

Power connectors tend to be the same size wherever you are, so you can extrapolate from there.

You don't know how big a standard computer ATX power supply is?

the case is BIG - I would say  16cm height - 40 width - 50 length
taking 120mm each fan plus the PSU back(10x14cm)

thats it, now you all can start making the cabinets Cheesy

and looks like thats an antec 650w PSU

I do. He asked. Which is why I told him to extrapolate from the C14 connector.

As for new information, we are still dealing with the custom issues I've previously mentioned, but Jeff should receive his units within this week, and everything will be clear then.

You seriously believe that shipping one unit to one customer will make you earn 750k$ in preorders? During the weekend, maybe?

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:

Dude,
It is up to us. He has nothing to believe in. We are the ones to decide if he will get 750K or zero. From what i see here the answer is yes he will sell 500 batch in 20 mins max if the site does not hang:) Let me refresh your memory first batch 300 units was sold for less than 20 minutes or so even though Avalon was about three mounts behind from shipping compared to BTCFPGA and BFL promises

This includes also, that the other customers will know when they get their units?

ATX power supplies are of a known and standard size:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_supply_unit_(computer)#Appearance

You can determine the size of the box from that.

Currently you would have sent about 108 units!

Ah actually, this is probably something I should update, the original plan is to assemble one and send one, of course this isn't working out, we currently have sent a batch of 53 to a different route, as it currently stands, this 53 has the biggest chance to make it out of the country, then we can attempt again if the news make it back to us before Feb 2. which is the deadline for getting things out of the country before CNY.

Honestly, this is probably something we underestimated and I'd like to personally apologize for having similarity with BFL, it is so pathetic. Then again though, since we did originally promise to ship everything out before Feb ends I don't really see a problem with this.

Couldn't have said it better myself, I'm writing up the batch #2 pre-sale thread right now.

I want inside pics, not just som fans in a box!!

It's beautifull..  Industrial an Si-FI-esque like some gear from the alien movies. If the fans have LED's it's miles ahead of the competition!

Whatever you do.. you may want to hold off on the pre-sale thread until a customer(s) actually says he has some type of working product...
But that is just me. Otherwise there must be some type of demo video and pictures galore? Feb is like 4 days away and no one has gotten a
tracking number to report when they can expect anything to arrive.

Why does everything have to be so darn odd? Does avalon like the attention and drama?

@ Bitsyncom

I don't want to waste your time. I certainly do not want you to become like Inaba trolling the forums. But a few things you could answer to alleviate the silence are:

!)Could you clarify what your role is with the Avalon Team?

!) What is the difference between Bitsyncom and Avalon? I thought Bitsyncom was hosting the official Avalon forums? (Which no one ever used)

!) What are the customs issues about? Are they severe issues? Be as specific as you can be so we have a realistic idea of what the wait time may be.

!) You mentioned you are shipping but we don't know what the shipping issues are and what they may mean for arrival times. Please inform us so we don't have to keep pestering you about it.

Could you give Gmaxwell (privately) a phone number you can be contacted at? I just realize we have no real way to contact you besides emails. If there is a panic, he can contact you for us. (Instead of having dozens and dozens of people all clogging your lines)

We really need something that none of the ASIC companies ever seem to provide. A regular daily update that takes a few minutes to tap out each day. Just this keeps the panic at bay. I am not asking you to engage trolls if you seriously don't have the time. But...At least type a line or two each day to give us an idea as to how the situation is evolving.

Complete opposite, We did some time tables and realized our greatest time waster was us smashing trolls and "convincing" potential buyers in a market where demand far exceed supply. Frankly speaking at this point we are not even going to deal with slander and other false comments.
