I have 2 rigs now on ethOS. Today I decide to make another 4 rigs on ethOS all with Claymore miner exactly. I have combinet electricity, solar panels about 6-7kW (maybe I add next 2-3kW this year) and pay electricity for about 0,15 EUR/kW. But I do not find on stores some good RX480 8GB (XFX, Sapphire,...) and I need 24pcs for 4 rigs. Do you have some tips where to find them or they are sold out ? If yes, what to buy ? RX570, RX580 or RX470 ? RX5xx series have 1x 6 pin and 1x 8 pin power supply, which PSU is best for 6 card in one rig ? thnx for help can you tell me more about your solar panels? How is it all configured? Do yo have batteries? What happens when there is not enough sun? I have this: https://apsystems.com/30pcs panels each 270Wp, 15x mikroinverters, without batteries, when no sun or not enought sun power, electricity go automatically from electric network whats the total kwhr rating on your system, solar omly works for small installations not even a mid sized farm

Hey all, I'm new to Eth mining. Just wondering what I should expect from two Sapphire 7950's @ stock speeds? I'm presently getting 11 Mh/s from each card... I'm using Claymore on a Windows 7 x64 Machine with the latest Catalyst Driver. From reading previous posts I see people getting 20 Mh/s but is that from many DAG Epoch's ago? Just curious what folks are getting these days with 7950's Let me know, thanks!

@Claymore I have a problem with one of my RX480 cards. In the log I see before every crash the same message: WATCHDOG: GPU 1 hangs in OpenCL call Now I want to find out which of my GPUs this is! When I start claymore with the parameter " DI -1", can I be sure that it is directly pointing to GPU 1 or does the ordering changes? If you did not use "-di" when it showed this message, then "-di 1" will select the card you want to find. Another way is to start miner as usual and press "1" key to disable GPU1 and check its temperature after a minute, it will be cooler than others. [/quote] @claymore: When I experience the same problem (for example: GPU 5 hangs...) I disable GPU 1, it is OK, miner shows in the "hashrate row" that GPU 5 is off. But in the "temperature row" I see that another GPU (for example GPU 4) is getting cooler and the fan rotating slower. So the GPU numbers/indexes are not the same in hashrate row and temperature row. Can you help me how could it happen, what did I wrong?

Hi all, I have a weird issue with one of my rigs and I hope some may sound familiar and can be fixed; I have one rig with 6x rx 580's (with bios mod) happily dual mining in windows 10. With bios mod they to 27 mhs, with parameters set in the config file they do 29.5 mhs. It appears that overtime, it can be 5 minuts or 12 hours, something kicks in and resets the values I have given the miner in commands and they go back to 27 mhs. These are the parameters; -cvddc 980 -mclock 2150 -fanmin 80 Although I doubt fanmin works at all because Claymore miner never report a fan speed @ 80%, always less. Usually 70-75% and one card at 50% fanspeed

Anyone else having their effective hashrate drop this low? It was like clockwork for months. Yes, mining is like gambling Sometimes you are lucky and find a lot of shares and your effective hash rate goes way up, but sometimes you have unlucky streak and your effective hash rate will go very low. In the end it should average to your actual hash rate or very close to it over time. Here is my current chart.

Although I doubt fanmin works at all because Claymore miner never report a fan speed @ 80%, always less. Usually 70-75% and one card at 50% fanspeed On my Sapphire 480 and my former MSI 470 -fanmin have been definitively working, but speed was always a little lower than set. I also used -tt to target temperature, and it works. however I never seen anything change, good or bad, speed, stability, power, heat, by changing mclock or any over/under clocking, under/over volting (-cclock -mclock -powlim -cvvdc -mvddc) . I use latest amdgpu pro v17 drivers (Claymore advise v15 but it does not work on my Ubuntu 16.04), and maybe it does not work. I've heard of atitweak to tune GPU in Linux, but it seems no more maintained. If you are on Windows, maybe does a tool like Wattman or trixx, afterburner, who update your GPU config behind the scene?

I have mostly RX480 cards but I still have 2x 7950 and 1x 7970 from mining back in 2013 and those cards only do well on ZEC. So I leave them on that all the time.

With trixx I noticed the same behaviour. (I could actually see the Mclock value changing back to 2000 instead of the 2150 I set trough the commands). I will try it with MSI AB maybe that helps.. Thanks!

I doubt it's an unlucky streak, since I know several people that are experiencing the same thing since a couple of days. The number of shares just dropped by about 20% a couple of days ago on ethermine.org pool. What could be the reason?

You will get more hash rate for the same or less power consumption but without Claymore's fee. I have an ethos rig with 3 x 290, 2 x 290x and 1 x 390. They are all clocked at core 1100 mem 1125 and sgminer-gm gives me 188mh/s while claymore gives me 180-183mh/s

Crypto currency enthusiast and miner since 2015. Mined approx 200 ETH during 2016 and 2017 and sold it at approximately $US40 each. Then I watched it reach $1000+ each. If anyone bothers to read this stuff pay attention to this: HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL
I started mining with 1 AMD 7950 and 1 R9-280X. Then I gradually built my AMD operation into 12 R9-290s. Awesome ETH hash but ridiculous power consumption and heat. Over the last year I defected to the Nvidia team. I now use GTX 1070s. They were expensive to buy (probably a bargain now) but awesome hash rate vs. power consumption. blah blah blah blah

Sapphire RX480 8GB Nitro OC+ (11260-01-20G)
with Dual Mining
ETH 30+ mhs DCR 840+ mhs
GPU-Z power Draw around 100W %30 Fan Speed for 70 degree Temperature
Can you give any idea of these values are OK?

The higher your hash rate the more noticeable the drop. My effective hash rate went from just under 1GH/s to 942MH/s. If you look at the stats for the top 10 miners on ethermine, you'll see that almost all of their charts show similar drops.

When I use ETh solo mining I get a very stable 69 to 75° for my cards. When I use dual-mining ETH+DCR, though, temperatures raise above 80° and beyond super quickly.
Now, I already use undervolting for all cards, but even when I tried to reduce the + GPU Frequency from about 5 - 7% to 1.5 - 2.5% it still raises in temperature very quickly. Is this normal? Do I need to decrease mining intensity?

Yes its normal, it uses more power so it will generate more heat. Try increasing fan speed manually if you are concerned.
