Night !!

Underclock memory clock reduce power need? I have  a 1300 gold power supply for 4 msi r9 390 and my claymore bat crash in the night because the increase of ny hashrate.

Any solution?

Hello,

How i set a max hashrate / mining  speed.

For example :

I want max 183 total speed for 6 r9 390x

How i do that?

Thanks

Solo mining Eth at a pool - simply follow the readme file.

Dualmining, depends whether you want to maximise ETH or you want more SC or Decred.

More Eth with AMD cards - set all cards to slow mode -etha 1,1,1,1,1,1,1

Set around -dcri 22 for SC or Decred- run for 24 hours and divide shares by 1440 minutes to find out your baseline average.

Then, experiment for yourself with SC and Decred settings!

More SC - Decred

Just try higher -dcri settings out to find what you happy with in terms of extra SC or Decred coin accumulation.

Overclocking - just google the web for the professional reviews on you specific model/manufacturers' GPUs overclock benchmark and use them as a guidelines.

Hello,

Thanks, i hace 6 of r9 390x, but in the night  the vat crash because the speed mining, more of 220 hash, this is cool for i  have 4x of r9 390x in a gold power supply of 1300 watts and i think that make crash my claymore bat. So, i need to keep my hash rate on 180 , i try -li command but it decrease so much my speed ( to 150 ) other way to keep my hash in 180 ( no more of 180 ) or orher way of reduce the power need?

Thanks

Well,

It is max watts (without overclock) is 275watts per card 1650watts for 6 cards.

Solo mining ETH at pool is around 1020 watts.

Dualmining ETH with Decred or SC is around 1266watts.

Depending on overclocking, it can be higher.

Motherboard 30 watts, CPU 65watts and other bits may be another another 40 watts.

Solo mining ETH is around 1155 watts.

And Dual mining is around 1401 watts.

I'm not sure how old you PSU is, but factor in 10% to 5% capacitor loss rate per year:

PSU after 1 year 10%=1190watts
PSU after 2 years 15%=1105watts
PSU after 3 years 20%=1040watts

Finally, did you check the PSU manual to check the max amps on the 12volt rails and if you have more than one 12volt rail.

It is a lot more complicated doing the connectors, when you have multiple 12volt rails.

Thanks for all the help getting my miners working.

2 XFX 480 8 GB cards.

100% stock, no overclock or nothing.

25 MH/s Eth and 370 MH/s DCR each.

When I run ETH only I see no increase in mining rate over running dual miner.

can i mine decred and sia only ... no eth .. if so can someone copy me the bat command for that
No, you can dual mine, or Eth only.  It is intended as a dual miner.  If you REALLY REALLY wanted to, you could set -ethi really low, and -dcri really high. Any reason for not wanting to dual mine?

i have nvidia cards isn't that good in eth really

the 1070 is very good instead, 1080 and 1060 i can agree they are trash

@ people who asked if Win10 support 6 and 7 GPUs.  The answer is yes and there's no 6 card hack or anything you need to do for Win10.

My 6 GPU rigs =
ASROCK H81 BTC Pro
ASROCK H97 Anniversary

My 7 GPU rig
MSI Gaming 5 ( You will need to go into the BIOS and change the PCI-E slots to Gen 1 and 8/4/4 for the 16x slots)

USB Power Riser 1x should work in all slots.  You don't need ribbons or 16 to 16x risers for the 16x slot to work.  IT work well with RX480s.  Some reason for R9 390, the 16x slot can be problematic.

What is the best setting for 1070 for dual mining.  I bought an Asus to test.  Any brand to avoid for mining??  What hash rate for Dual mining and power usage if anyone have it.

Just "Mining" my own business.

I have a 1060 3GB core + 200 / mem +248 or 496 depends on your OC tool 21.8Mh/s ETH only ETH 21 MH/s + 210 MH/s SC  dcri 30.  A dcri setting of 80 gives me 440 MH/s    but lowers my ETH to 18 MH/s.  My GTX 950 in the same rig scale much better they go from 70-80 MH/s with a dcri setting of 30 to 240-280 MH/s with a dcri setting of 120 and lose 400-600 KH/s from ETH not sure why though maybe software needs some work.

You can lower powertune limit on the cards, underclock them, undervolt (if card allows), lower -dcri if dual mining, also try -ethi (see OP for details on the options)

So you got 6 x16-x1 risers? Have you tried x16-x16 riser if you got one? i got a gigabyte mb which recognized all 6 cards if two of them are installed directly to mb or using x16-x16 riser. A bug or feature, don't know.

Yep, using 6 x x16-x1 powered risers, the H81 BTC Pro MB only has on x16 on board and if i place a card directly in the slot then it covers one of the X1 slots. I don't have a x16 to x16 riser to test, but guess I'll order a couple to try. Just pissed, have 6 480's sitting around doing nothing and diff is shooting up daily!

That said, looked on Amazon for a x16 to x16 and they all have shit reviews, not a single one looks good, people saying it has shit contacts and a few fired the MB.

Any recommendations on a quality x16 to x16 riser?

My Asrock MB was unable to see card in x16 slot with x1 riser, but with x16 riser it works with no problem.
i'm using like this one: https://www.amazon.com/AGPtek%C2%AE-Express-Extender-Flexible-Extension/dp/B00E11MI9U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1472361728&sr=8-4&keywords=x16+riser

@Claymoer trying to down loads the drivers for 10-serires from the op tells me the folder doesn't exist can you pls fix the link?

OP updated with new info:

NVIDIA DRIVERS:
9xx cards in Windows 7 x64: just use latest/recent drivers from Nvidia website (for example, 368.81). Note that latest 372.54 is slower than 368.81.
9xx cards in Windows 10 x64: you have to use old drivers (for example, 352.xx) and miner built for cuda6.5.
10xx cards in Windows 7 x64: just use latest 372.54 drivers from Nvidia website.
10xx cards in Windows 10 x64: just use latest 372.54 drivers from Nvidia website, note that you must have Win10 Anniversary update.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

Perhaps, here is some research on it:

https://www.phmsociety.org/sites/phmsociety.org/files/phm_submission/2010/phmc_10_030.pdf

You can then, publish comprehensive research disproving this alleged Myth about:

ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR DEGRADATION

Nobody, recommends skimping out on PSUs or running them at full load - efficiency tends to best around 50% on many high quality PSUs:

http://www.pcgameware.co.uk/articles/power-supply-testing-pcgs-thoughts/

Some bigger miners, buy and run dual PSUs to have 50% loads when mining!

@claymore

this is something i havent quite figured out.

have an ubuntu 15.10 x64 rig, 15.12 driver (15.302 it says) 8 gig ram cdm 6.3. has 390 8 gig and 380 2 gig. 390 was primary display, 380 2nd with no monitor. all was well, no environmental settings needed. ran for months stable as a rock.

so my seasonic x750 burned a pcie cable and i will rma it, have a evga gs850 on its way. till it gets here i have pulled the 390, so now the 380 is the only card and primary display. and it will not run, cant create the dag. cdm logs show 1.8 gigs vram.

here is what ive tried: set all those GPU_etc environmental variable. nope. stopped xorg (now cdm logs show 2 gig vram). nope same error, cant create dag. throw in an old HD6770 as primary card running the display so the 380 is now 2nd card with no monitor hooked to it. no go, same error. also tried cdm 5.3 (?, the last 5.x one). negative.

guess the question is, does the dag get created on 1st supported card and then transferred to the others? does the card creating the dag need more vram than other cards? this 380 ran fine alongside the 390, but wont run by itself, even without xorg sucking down 256 mb or whatever the gui uses.

Miner creates DAG on every card. No transfers. If you get error it means that OpenCL cannot allocate enough buffer. Why? I don't know. Perhaps OS allocated some memory for itself. Or OpenCL drivers don't like your configuration for some reason and therefore don't allow to allocate max memory. Unfortunately I don't know drivers logic about max memory limits calculation, I only know that is not simple and that's the reason of many problems.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

thats kinda what i thought too, which is why i shut down xorg. cdm reported vram went from 1.8 gb to 2 gb so just running the gui takes 256 mb vram. ill pick away at it, if i figure it out ill let you know.

ah well the evga will be here soon. just figured i would give the 380 alone a run till then.

There is no such thing as 10% 15% 20% loss after 1-2-3years that is a myth. Have 4year and 2.5year psu's running 24/7 since I bought them, no difference in efficiency.

Perhaps, here is some research on it:

https://www.phmsociety.org/sites/phmsociety.org/files/phm_submission/2010/phmc_10_030.pdf

You can then, publish comprehensive research disproving this alleged Myth about:

ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR DEGRADATION

Nobody, recommends skimping out on PSUs or running them at full load - efficiency tends to best around 50% on many high quality PSUs:

http://www.pcgameware.co.uk/articles/power-supply-testing-pcgs-thoughts/

Some bigger miners, buy and run dual PSUs to have 50% loads when mining!

Just get an evga with a 7 or 10 year warranty and if you see high degradation then its all good.

v6.4:

- added "-etha 2" option value for gpu-pro Linux drivers.
- fixed issue with a bit lower mining speed of previous version (AMD cards).
- Improved speed by about 3% for NVIDIA 10xx cards in Windows 10 (CUDA 8.0 build).
- NVIDIA: added build with CUDA 8.0, it is default now, there are also CUDA 6.5 and 7.5 builds in separate folders.
- NVIDIA: added temperatures/fans monitoring. Note that fans management is not available, only monitoring is possible.
- EthMan now shows "off" or "stopped" status for disabled/stopped cards in detailed hashrate stats.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

Thanks for all the help getting my miners working.

2 XFX 480 8 GB cards.

100% stock, no overclock or nothing.

25 MH/s Eth and 370 MH/s DCR each.

When I run ETH only I see no increase in mining rate over running dual miner.

I'm getting 22ETH and 460SIA with -dcri 40

What is your parameter?

I am having a problem with one of my rigs it is crashing all the time (sometimes I have to disconnect the power to all GPUs, uninstall the onboard graphics, and then connect the power to all cards again before rebooting the PC to get the PC to boot, and sometimes I even get THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER error message when trying to boot the PC), and I did find out that if I turn off GPU 5 it seems to work better and not crashing.
I am running in Windows 10 x64 with Sappire Radeon RX 480, and I did try different drivers without any luck. And I got the same clock settings on all cards (I am running 4 more RX480 on another machine and that one did not crash one single time in over 3 weeks) This is how the logfile looks right before the crash if I run with GPU 5 on...

What can be wrong, any advice?

Try not to push your GPU5 too hard... you must be running at 2250mhz

solutions for you:

1. Find out which one is GPU5
2. back to stock setting and slowly work your way up (2100 or 2125 mem is a good start.. )
2. Try ramp up the Fan speed (I saw your temp very high 85C)
3. Continue monitoring

ok, I will try to reset that card, any advice what voltage settings I should have?
If this not solve it I will change raiser and see if it works better with another.

I am running at 2200mhz memory @ 940mV, and 1100 core clock @ 950mV. I am running the same setting for all cards. I have fan speed max set to 3200 (I dont really understand WattMan's fan settings??), can I make the fan always go on 70% speed? Because the noice is not a problem.
