It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Hi!
Try lowering the TC to less value... Sometimes the cards don´t go to well with some high TC numbers on the GUI Miner...

Try this and then work from there on...

I wish I had time to add more features, however MC2 (which I work on voluntarily, for free) and my graduate program takes up most of my time right now.

The github repo is available in the first post if anyone wants to fork it and play with it.  However, the code is messy and it'll probably be difficult to work with.

As GPU scrypt mining will also be obsolete in about 3-6 months because of ASICs, I also don't have a huge incentive to update the program.

Thanks for the recent tips everyone.  I appreciate them.

Taco Buddy! Smiley

Any new info for us?

People want to reward you if you keep going the GUIMiner Forward...

Best Regards,

LPC

Hi, I have a PC Laptop with Intel HD Graphics 3000 and Windows 7.

Can I mine LTC on this?

I have tried several times, but I can't make it work as it can't connect. I am starting again from scratch...

sure and you might get a few kh/s  and hardly see any accepted hashes.  Or, you could get some GPUs that are actually designed to mine and you might make a few dollars a day.  cpu mining for scrypt is like banging your head against the wall

Hey Taco...

Sometime without any new information...

Did you have given up on this GUI Miner - Scrypt Edition?
I have a mini-farm and i use your software + logmein instead of CGWatcher and Remote...

But the lack of news, features needed and support, are making me thinking in changing to something else...

Can you please say something about this aplication?

Best Regards,

LPC

I don't have time to continue developing this -- sorry!  CGWatcher may be a better interface if you are having problems with cgminer crashing and needing to be rebooted.

cgminer causes this

tacotime; please help me with this. I sent you a PM but you are probably very busy to respond to all individual messages. I like GUI Miner a lot because it gives me a high hashrate, not sure if what the front end of GUI Miner displays is accurate and this is what i want to find out once and for all. I will be using CG Watcher do to this. I want troubleshoot some issues I have when running cgminer on its own and I would really appreciate help from someone that knows more how to use cgminer better than me, which won't be too difficult as I really am not good at command line entries as they have to be precisely exact in order to work and one single digit that is wrong will ensure its failure!

So I need to know which API port GUI Miner assigns to the cgminer instances? Anyone here can tell me this so I can connect to cgminer via CG Watcher and get an accurate reading of settings used by GUI Miner, I want to save the settings GUI Miner is using into a profile and then try a few different things to solve my problems. I am using the same settings I used in GUI Miner in standalone cgminer but I do not get the same results, so either cgminer is not as good without a decent front end, or, GUI Miner is reporting more optimistic hashrate and not showing any HW errors even if they are present. REALLY need HELP with this one, PLEASE!

I lso have no clue how to add fail over pools or temp cut off settings, etc, and yes I am aware this has been covered in this very thread but I simply do not understand how or where to add "flags" when no examples are shown to us within a full working profile for GUI Miner. For those that are more familiar with this sort of thing it is childs play for them and for most developers too, but most people are not that so do need tuts. It is easier to do in cgminer itself which is ironic in a way because GUI Miner with a GUI is supposed to make it all straight forward, surely? So I am not as hopeless as it may seem because I do find cgminer easy to configure on its own, to some extent at least. I want to switch to CG Watcher or just use cgminer alone for now until I manage to fix issues with BFG Miner or learn to use SG Miner. It seems none of these miners are perfect or work 100% as I would like them to but I need help in order to determine why this is. I have tuned all my thread-concurrency and intensity settings as much as I can and do get a decent hashrate but there are still some issues I need to fix. Sometimes I get too many rejects while running cgminer without GUI Miner or a few HW errors, even though I use the same settings and also get a lower hashrate. It could be due to several reasons and I won't know until I can better troubleshoot this by connecting to the API or knowing more about how GUI Miner works with its settings that are somewhat opaque or unknown in some areas. With all this said, I would like to support its continued development.

I have tried various API ports to connect t cgminer once GUI Miner is running but CG Watcher simply will not connct to it and I have been told by Justin it should do just fine once we know the API port GUI Miner uses.

GUIminer isn't using an API port, it pulls from the stdout output to console instead

You may need to manually enable an apiport in extra flags

Hi Taco...
Its very unfortunate that this program will stay like it is... Sad

Some ppl like myself is using it on my miners...
But if development is really finished, guess i must try to get some alternatives then Sad

It really final your decision?

Hi Taco!

What would you need to restart the development of the GUI Miner?

Im in a position of paying to you some good Crypto cash if you are willing to add some features to your frontend software and fix some bugs!

Please say something, and please don´t let this software die! Smiley

With my best Regards,

Did you actually read what they are saying? Because they categorize it as a bitcoin miner not as a virus.
Some people wrote botnet viruses to mine bitcoins for them
