Atom, Good luck where every you decide to mine, trade, etc... But this ANN thread really is about keeping us informed on the progress that ETC is making.  And of course some chit chat between those of us who are supporting it.  Best of luck where ever you go.

Now the bright side to the down price pressure is we are shaking out the weak hands and hopefully will flush out any ETC that is still in "hostile" hands that are using it as a weapon against ETC.  The sooner that happens the more stability we will have.  It is clear that the ETH insiders have a mountain of ETC and are not afraid to use it to attack.  So these weaker prices might flush some of that out of the woodwork.

The sooner ETC finds support and a price bottom while everyone is screaming the sky is falling the better.  I am seeing a lot of trash talk on Polo Trollbox feeding nonsense about no devs and no future.  It is time to make sure that everyone knows that there are devs, there is a future, and there is a plan.  So announcements along those lines will help a great deal as we can repeat them in places where there is some impact.

Positive note is that with so many running from ETC the diff is falling and profitability is returning to mining.  Always a good thing Smiley

OK then ....who are the devs? what is the plan? and what is etc future plans? ...

As i said earlier, the ETH devs can severe ties from etc in many ways.
With so much hatred towards VB & others....why would etc want them anyway?
etc current philosophy of copy n paste, with anon leaders wont work imo
but pumpy etc is just a couple of days old. see what it has acomplished so far. one should give it some time
plus one should see the options this situation has. eth will do pos etc probably not.

so let see what gos best ?

I have redesigned the getting started pages as some miners often had the same questions:

Ok, so what is the trick to send ETC from your wallet?  I attempted to send ETC from my Mist wallet, it asks for my password, then it sits there like it is waiting for confirmations.  It sits there for a few minutes and then finally acts like it timed out or something and the transaction never completes.  What is the trick to send ETC?

Price is down almost 30% for the day. What's going on?

Vitalik tweeted this several hours ago, in response to the question "Would you support ETC if it had the longer blockchain".  The market is responding.

The return to 0.0040+ after several hours of dips shows that the popular sentiment behind ETC is stronger than just one guy.

this tweet is very old nothing new...

If he does not support etc, price should go way up  Grin

Does anyone really care if VB supports ETC honestly?  He pushed for the mutation(fork) and thinks he knows best for everyone... His forked forked fork will end up being such a mess people will reflect back on this time and realize the slippery slope that ETH is on.

Anyone thoughts on how to send funds from the Mist Wallet? I cannot seem to send funds from my wallet for some reason.  The wallet just seems to time out.  Is there some trick that I am unaware of?  Is this normal behavior?

No, you should be able to send without issues. Is you wallet fully synced and on the correct chain? Also check the block explorer, maybe the TX has been sent but not reflected in the wallet yet.

As of this time I show block 2009581.  So I think I am on the correct block chain.

I clicked on the transaction ID and etherscan is unable to find the transaction entry.

Ok, if anyone else runs into this issue.  I found an answer that seems to have worked.  This Mist Wallet is on a Mac.  I found a forum post that stated they had the same issue.  They closed the wallet, reopened the wallet and then tried to send again and it worked.

I just tried this and it appears to be working now.  So if you run into an issue where you cannot send, try closing everything and relaunching it.  Then try to send again.

I watched the video.  it was what i expected.  Gold vs Fiat = Ethereum Classic vs Ethereum

We are to Bitcoin as Silver is to gold!  and they know it and are nervous, YES!

@MalReynolds Good work you were perfect, i like the academic approch, ("empirical" we should be saying that along side "immutable")

@Chandler-Guo Welcome, Welcome, Welcome and thank you so, so much for your input.

I need to eat, then spend some time getting my head round it all but, this is good news.

We all need to get connected.  Soon!

Warm wishes

Paula

Ξpool

We are getting physical. We have successfully migrated all US based stratums to physical hardware. Every stratum has its very own Parity instance with tri node failover. The results are astounding. Every ℅ below 100℅ variance is +% miner profit compaired to the average.
