I turned off the witness I had running because it did not have enough funds to continue stamping transactions.  Cry

@tonych was this supposed to work this way, when running a witness, if other people dont choose it in their walets, it will eventually run out of funds to continue posting?

Yes, if your witness is not supported, it is bleeding capital.

I'll do the 2nd round distribution on testnet later today.
If you participated in the 1st round, get your testnet wallets ready and synced.
The pairing code of testnet transition bot is A89N05sSYB+ZakW6HH16mAHuFsf+HDi+Us3DeP/MyoAQ@byteball.org/bb-test#0000

Hello,

Does anyone else use the Android wallet? Do you also notice the bug where the back-button of android phone is not going back more than 1 view, but instead is going back-forward-back-forward?

Have you noticed any other bugs in the Android version?

Any more information would be great, to make this the best wallet. The best.

Yes, back button works strange way. And there is no way to stop the app besides going to settings -> apps -> force stop. This is inconvenient. Other apps quit on double back-button.

superrestiant, as an Nxt-Initial-Investor and IOTA-ICO-Investor, aren't you now a Bitcoin-Whale as well?

It depends what you call a whale. As I started as a total ignorant noob, I lost many times most of what I had.
I had to go through the hard process of learning while some others were already very knowledgeable in IT, economy, finance, fintech and trading.
I hope to become a true whale in the years to come now that I've got the knowledge.

@kola-schaar : Interesting post mate.

EDIT : I just did an infographic about the interest of Byteball over time

Where is your country guys ?

Where are you finding this country data?  Are you just looking at an online domain analyzer or something?

I turned off the witness I had running because it did not have enough funds to continue stamping transactions.  Cry

I did not know this, how much bytes are used/day if no one chooses you as a witness.  and how will these witnesses going forward ever be decided?

It used up about 32 000bytes or so before I noticed was what happening.   Shocked

Just random-guessing since I didnt keep track after how long it stopped working, only gave it these numbers and noticed it it later.

Guess it means if someone is serious about being a witness they should invest both in bytes and socially to convince people to be selected. The cost isnt too high right now, on 1MB you should be able to keep it running for 1 month or so.

But I got no time for this.

It is just multiple layers of google trend charts. I chose countries from kola-schaar's comment earlier and I looked if I could find other countries data.
Unfortunately there was no other data I could find. It means we have to keep spreading awareness outside of those 5 countries.

is it possible to run a bb hub on a raspberry pi?

Probably (didn't try that myself), I'll advise you to go to Slack and ask in the channel #tech.

the instructions here https://github.com/byteball/byteball-hub are not enough for me.

how to for:
- Install node.js

Install the node.js package. For instance, on Ubuntu, the package is named nodejs, to install it:

Code:
apt-get install nodejs

I would assume the same goes for raspberrypi.

- clone the repository

Code:
git clone https://github.com/byteball/byteball-hub.git

Or click on clone or download and then download zip.

thank you. i would like to try it now. but i am not at home an i forgot to open port 22. so i have to wait a few days.

Once you've chosen lite, I don't think you can switch it to full. I had this same situation a few days ago. I reinstalled from scratch.

Sorry for maybe a dumb question:

I wanted to link the BB address to get BlackBytes for the next giveaway. The bot says:

Quote
You also receive 0.21111 blackbytes for each 1 byte of your balance on the linked Byteball address, which currently is:
<byteball-address>: <amount-of-GB>.
Move your bytes to the linked address in order to maximize the amount of blackbytes you receive.

However, the ammount of GB it shows, is less than I have in my wallet in the actual address.
Am I missing anything? Are there some kind of "change addresses" where BB goes to when I make transactions? I would appreciate your help. TY!

Exactly, like in bitcoin, some bytes are transferred to change addresses when you do an outgoing tx. So best practice is to send your complete balance to yourself, using the address you've linked in the transition chat.

OK, thx for the hint. I only see one BB address in my wallet. So other addresses are invisible or shall we not think in addresses, but maybe think in subspace distortions where bytes are in kinda stasis?  Grin

in this situation i have to send all bytes from address_1 to address_2 and then back to address_1 where:
address_1 – is linked to my btc and has problems (bot shows lower balance than it is actually);
address_2 – additional address within the same wallet.

am i gettin' this right?

i used only this one address_1 to all transactions and the difference between real balance and shown by bot info is near 2 %.

upd. solution:

i've had the same issue with my btc address (difference between blockchain.info and current btc address balance) and as i said above – byteball bot shows lower balance than it's actually is.

cure:

1. move all ur btc to the new btc address within ur btc wallet
2. move all ur bb to the new bb address within ur bb wallet
3. chat with the transition bot and link new btc address and new bb address (for examle via signing message in the btc core wallet).

worked for me fine.

the bot's info is correct now. ☺
