byteball is good. even if the airdrop is cancelled, and there will come another airdrop, but is not as easy as before to getting free coins.

byteball has its own code from scratch.
has its main net and running.
has a good and responsible coder.
it is the dag mode.
it is wrote by node.js, will be integrated to web easily.
its app is also good to do chat and text coin.
it has contracts.

but, please remember, guys.
there is only one dev in this proj.
this is centralized coin because of witness owned by one person.
the decision and direction of this coin is managed by one person, and there is no sign and trend this person will listen to the community.
all are the price, if you hold large numbers of byteball, you must learn that you are only an ant,  the big elephant is the others especially ... , if the price comes up high and he sells before you, you will be let down.

This is very bad that only Tony is the one and only developer and the man behind this project. From what I know all witnesses are running by Tony. If something happens to him this will be the end of Byteball. Especially if there is not much information about Tony. Just think about this for a second. This is why decentralization is so powerful. When started could not be stopped for any reason and Byteball could be down next month if Tony disappears. This is a real thread for this project and until there is no backup plan I don't see mass adoption. Just my 2 cents.

I would love to see some of the undistributed funds be spent to ramp up the team (particularly bringing on more full time marketing and business development employees) but I would disagree with a few items.

There are 3 full time developers and there are developers who are actively working on projects that will work exclusively on the Byteball platform. The only reason these other developers haven't forked and created their own coin is because Tony is a genius and having Tony and shitty marketing today is better in the LONG TERM than doing marketing their own way today and not having Tony and his team of two others build the (IMO) best conceivable crypto platform.

If Tony dies I guarantee the project will be forked, the witness structure will transition to a masterwitness scheme (like dash masternodes but no miners and different concensus) and the existing GBYTE holders will continue on without their blackbytes.

Mass adoption will come. But it's not going to come before most people want to sell and move onto the next mooning shitcoin.
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Mass adoption requires internationalization. English chatbots frighten non english users. Especially the ones which users can get some bytes for free to play with.

I don't see their names in public forums and don't intend to be the first person to name names... but if you look at Tony's contributions and commits on github and see what has been built in the last year it's self evident he's not working alone.

AFAIK @Punqtured from slack has recently taken on translation efforts. He seems to have accomplished a lot in the little time he has been working on it. I don't know if he's going to tackle the bots (since many are third party submissions) but that's a good point.

Who cares about the airdrop, this tech is DOPE and so young and will be around long after the pretender projects die off.

I had the BTC - Byteball exchange bot "ignore" my deposit because it was "too small".  Admittedly, it wasn't a lot, but it was in the ballpark of 20USD at the time of the deposit.  The message was just "Received your payment of 0.059 GB it is too small to be exchanged, will be ignored.".

This bot has a buyer beware and explicitly says not to deposit the amount you deposited. So I'd have to respectfully say that there's only one place to put the blame if you don't get refunded.

Actually... it doesn't say that at all... what it actually says is:
Quote
We'll exchange as much as you pay, but the maximum amount is 1 GB, minimum is 0.002 BTC worth.
Which in my opinion is a little misleading... having maximum as BYTEs and minimum as BTC Undecided

It is perfectly reasonable to expect someone to read that as Max is 1 GB... min is 0.002... user sends 0.059 GB... starts wondering why their deposit is too small when minimum is 0.002. Yes, the user should probably be more careful and read things properly, but still... this is just setting people up to fail and that's just not good UI/UX.

Also, given that the rates are constantly changing... specifying a fixed minimum in the converted unit is a terrible idea!

Since most of the Byteball holders received their stack for free after so many months. Their hands are probably the most weak. They are probably dumping Bitcoin along with the free GBBYTE they got as we speak. Best to add positions after the carnage is over.

Pre-Announcement

Byteball is in the process of establishing a legal entity in Switzerland/Lichtenstein. This is aimed at bringing marketing and business development to a new level. Consequently, to grow strategically we need a budget enabling us to make short term and medium term plans. We need to hedge against volatility and work in fiat. Byteball is following the best practices in the crypto market.

Mhh this sounds interesting. Was quite disappointed in the last weeks, because of the progress of this project but maybe Byteball will change tack. I really hope so Smiley

In very doubt of this. To become  legal financilal entitity the relevant financial regulations and rules should be amended accordingly, subject to prior review by both  National Council and  Federal Assembly of Switzerland.
