I can't believe I missed out on the initial Maxcoin rush. I was using reddit for info on the launch... everyone there was posting how terrible Maxcoin is and how you should mine something else, but according to these forums it was a gold-rush at the beginning   Cry

Apart from that Spoetnik guy it seems like a great community  Grin Thanks cbuchner1 for cudaminer, as soon as I can I'll be sending a donation  Smiley

I can't quite put my finger on this, but it feels like cudaminer isn't quite playing nice with most stratums just yet.
Now I should note, this could just the pools being under attack or a change on their side, but from the looks of it the pool seems to be crunching along just fine.

I'm using 1GH and (using yesterday's build, not getting yay's on latest GIT) after restarting I seem to get a few yays and then it somewhat grinds to a halt.
It might still get some accepted shares, but at quite large intervals, unlike the start of the runtime.
The GPU load does seem to stay high, so it is doing something, but it would just continue reporting some fluctuating hashrates and no yay nor boo.

On a possible related note, seem to be getting between 10-20% reject rate.

edit: tried a different pool. Guess it might just be 1GH misbehaving. seems to work fine with rocketpool, even latest code from git.
edit2: or not. seems to get sprees of rejects and after a while slow down significantly.

Is it anything to do with stratum code some pools are using now? https://github.com/Crypto-Expert/stratum-mining/tree/maxcoin

Yes, it's what we are using and probably a whole bunch of pools soon. It seems to be working.

If everything stays the way it is, 1 day worth of Maxcoin is still worth 5 on Middlecoin.

I'll still miss the 1 minute of maxcoin being worth months of middlecoin though Smiley
Now to just stop beating myself up for getting greedy cancelling a sell order on 0.04.
And curse those 2 orphans!

could not figure out how maxcoin wallets works or how to install it on my pc so I guess I missed out on the mad rush lol, anyway been trying to find a pool and stubbled across this which works for me. I crossing my fingers that the offical windows gui wallet come out soon if its not already?
I downloaded a gui maxcoin wallet from links posted on this forum thread and although it looks legit I do have doubts on it as when its loaded up and sync'ed with the network my cpu usage is constantly at 100% just opening this wallet.

I am now mining Maxcoin on this site https://max.hashfaster.com , whilst hoping for the official windows gui wallet

I am using this launch for GTX 780ti Sc ranging from 102400 khash/s - 20000 khash/s on the site bleow as soon as cudaminer launches I get a lot of yays but soon after this I get a lot of boo is there any reason for this decline?  using 2014-02-07 release

cudaminer.exe --algo=keccak -d 0 -i 0 -C 0 -m 0 -H 2 -L 512 -l K1000x32 -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.max.hashfaster.com:4004

While hashfaster is now started to find blocks, their difficulty is so low I'm getting hundreds of valid shares in a couple of minutes which is far from optimal.

Christian did you decide to go to a pool now? Ive got my hash rate at over 500Mhash/s now and can probably get to over 1Gh/s if I can be botherd. Still solo mining right now

It's normal to get a string of booos right before the discovery of a new block right? It seems that it's always pushing me upwards to 20% rejects.

Difficulty has skyrocketed to over 30,000 from 500-1000 back when we were discovering blocks solo mining. I really think it's not viable anymore unless you're really the gambling type.

I was mining doge for a full month for 0.15btc
If I can find one block in a month I can get 0.44btc if the price stays the same.

Worth a gamble?

I'm getting a lot of boos on my 780s and 780 ti. My 290x with cudaminer is bang on 95%+ accurate while my 780's are in the 60% to 80% range. It's really strange. I thought it was the servers going bad but going on max.netcodepool.org which is a small pool, it still looks pretty bad.

It's not like a couple of coins a day from pool mining is worth that much and considering how much the pools are off at this point, I don't think solomining with any hashrate is that bold. Besides, you don't have to monitor solomining or set up failovers, just let it ride, while pools are all over the place.

IMO, no because the price is dropping. I'm selling as soon as I get a few coins and have been riding the price from .016 all the way down to .004 right now. Getting a full 96 coins and selling for 0.001 in a few days does you no good.
