Use putty?
Yes. Login as root. Execute "screen -r". Then you are in cgminer.

Turn off power switch?
SSH to your miner. Terminate cgminer with "q". Shutdown linux with "halt". Turn off power. Is the q really required? I just halt it. Not mandatory. But "q" terminates the program in the way the developer intended. If you just halt the system the cgminer process is killed.

Will Neptune have hosting or only sold as shipped units?
I've asked a number of times and so far they have not given any details or if they plan on offering hosted services. I hope so, got 4 neptunes and didn't want to run new circuits in my house but i will if i have to. Pardon my french, but what the shit?! You're got 4 N's on order and you're worried about running new circuits? I need to be having your problems. ^_^

I think there's no turbo mode that need to be enabled. It's simply a misunderstanding IMHO. The turbo mode is enabled by default and give you 100GH/s more hash power respect to what achieved with an October Jup, and It's due to the new PCB design. Ah I forgot you can't disable it :-P

All November units arrived in a reasonable time and function as (or above) advertised. Just like batch one.
Five stars KnC, really good stuff.
this is sarcasm, right?? He's talking about HIS experience. Like the majority of the thousands of KNC customers not the handful of people who had issues.

Catching up on the last few pages.. lots of folks talking about why they didn't release something a smidge smaller than the Neptune so folks could still 'get into the game' or simply not spend as much for a Neptune. I understand that angle, and I'm one of the folks perturbed by it.
Keep in mind, however, what I mentioned many pages back. KNC at the outset wanted to 'eventually' get into the industrial market. This is their first major step toward that. The industrial market is, afterall, where BTC mining is going to go, as it will be required based on the difficulty.
Few home-based owners will be able to mine in a worthwhile fashion beyond, say, 2014, as a guess. TH is already the new GH, and after 2014, PH will likely be the new TH. Simple math and understanding of 20nm technology/current-requirements will show that the home-based user will simply not be able to do anything, unless they spend $$$$$ to install multi-phase and many panels. IE, Industrial.
That's likely why they're shifting their flagship systems this way. It would be nice for them to offer something less, but there are other companies who are doing just that. Black Arrow is one.

Requesting hosting as well. I suggest you guys inquire with http://anotherhost.se/I understand they are already hosting quite a few Jupiters. They're close enough that they drive to KnC and pick up the miners rather than having them shipped.

I understand that the first batch of Jupiters had to make over 70 coins to break even in BTC and that was going to be tough... but how can you look at a Neptune and say that it will produce less than 10 coins. My two jupiters today still create 1 coin a day (combined). The risk is very different than it was with purchasing Jupiters when BTC was at $100.
unless you've got 2 November Jupiters pushing 700GH/s each I find it had to believe you can mine 1 BTC a day. please explain how you're doing this if it's true. or is it a mistake and you're calculations are incorrect.

I have less than 200gh pointed to slush right now, and I'm making .25btc/day. I have no doubt he's making 1btc/day.

Why is it so hard to get a simple answer regarding the shipping situation? On November 25th we were told We aim to have all the November boxes shipped before the end of the month. That obviously didn't come close to happening. It is now December 4th and all we get is silence. No explanation. No update. Do you not realize how frustrating this is for customers? FFS
