Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ?

Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.

Fiat, also, was not made to be used on porn sites, gambling, and drug dealing and yet fiat is also used in such manners. In relation to bitcoin, fiat and bitcoin were made to be used as a mode of payment. We cannot control how people will use their fiat/bitcoin. I would not say that it is a misuse of currency since bitcoin was used to pay porn site in order to view porn, used to bet in gambling, and payed bitcoin in exchange for drugs. They used bitcoin perfectly as a mode of payment. I say, it is unethical/immoral usage of bitcoin/fiat/currency since they used it illegally, immorally, and unethically.

You have a point not only bitcoin is being used in that activity but also fiat. Its up to them on how they will use the bitcoin wether it is good or not. And I think the creator of bitcoin is not made the bitcoin for that purpose.

We cannot ignore the fact that Drugs and Dark Web have a major contribution on where Bitcoin is now. The site Silk Road uses Bitcoin as a main currency for their transaction involving drugs. Also some sites related to torture and killing also accepts Bitcoin. Its not created to become a currency for doing bad things but it is fitted to do just that. The security you are getting makes you safe from getting behind bars.

yes you are right that some people prefer bitcoin over fiat like me it is because bitcoin give opportunity to many people for earning money and it is very easy to use and also for those who don't have job they can easily earn bitcoin only with smart phones or laptop etc and also look at the price of bitcoin it is increasing day by day, and if we have bitcoin and keep it for some time then we can make good profit from it.

in fact in previous time most of the online shops were using paypal for payment, but now most of the shops also have the the bitcoin option for payment. for me i myself using bitcoin for shopping, actually paypal service is not available in my country but after bitcoin acceptance it is not a problem for me to do online shopping. i can do any type of shopping online.

I think my opinion is quite different from others here. Most of the People prefer Bitcoin over Fiat because of the conversion rates of Bitcoin to USD and then to everyone's local currency. Users can earn BTC or altcoins from the internet and in conversion they will get a nice amount of Fiat.

I cannot realły get the whole subject of the discussion, and what is question about, even when i have read the thread name few times.
I thought it is kind of obvious that people prefer fiat currencies over cryptocurrencies, and same with the reasons, they are pretty clear for me and I cannot understand how can someone not think about the exact same thing.

You dont use BTC to pay your bills, you rather dont use it to make everyday shopping such as groceries or even when you go to mall to buy clothes.
Fiat is much easier to use plus it is accepted everywhere.

Those people who are actually preferring bitcoin over fiat are totally correct because both bitcoin and fiat have no connection. Bitcoin is more like a online currency like PayPal and also more like a online investment platform or online gold. So what connection a 90% online currency has to do with something that is offline.

yes this is the main reason that most of the people prefer bitcoin over fiat because the conversion of bitcoin into local currency is very good and people can get good benefits from the conversion and also the transaction of bitcoin to any other place is very easy and cheap as compare to fiat and bitcoin is also tax free.

That is true. I even have a friend that all he talks is bitcoin. I mean, whenever he wants to buy something both through online or brick and mortar store, his base of conversion is bitcoin. His primary money is bitcoin and the rest is just secondary and need to be converted before using it. Bitcoin indeed plays an important role in my friend's life.
