My thoughts for the 2017 is that bitcoin should perform better than last year and by this I mean that the block size should be greater than it is now.
There are many unconfirmed transaction every day and it get stucked/increased suddenly which I don't like because many things get stucked and should wait for a day or more to get the transaction confirmed.

My thoughts for the 2017 is that bitcoin should perform better than last year and by this I mean that the block size should be greater than it is now.
There are many unconfirmed transaction every day and it get stucked/increased suddenly which I don't like because many things get stucked and should wait for a day or more to get the transaction confirmed.
It sucks to see your transactions taking hours to fully confirm on the Bitcoin network. You would need to pay higher fees for your transaction to confirm quickly, which I believe that it is not the most viable option to go, as you would end up paying more just to speed up the process. But in the bright side, if SegWit gets the approval of the miners, then we can rest assured that Bitcoin would increase in capacity and transactions would confirm in 10 minutes like it used to be. I hope that miners from around the world, could consider this and approve these changes to make Bitcoin a better cryptocurrency for the masses. This year might be the one in which Bitcoin, increases in capacity, as well as to become more valuable than ever. Just my opinion.  |

I dont expect much, same discussion and gaining adoption, i believe we will have 1-2 quiet years before bigger news and events.

For me in 2017 we will stay over 1000$ and I see us at a price of something like 1100$ on December 31st of 2017.
yeah bitcoin will be stay over $1000 in 2017 and i hope bitcoin price will be high more than $1100 i am sure bitcoin price will be reach to $2000 at the end of 2017 year. itcoin price is really going to over $1000 and you are right that bitcoin will be reach to $2000 at the end of 2017 because bitcoin adoption increasing too much faster and its price is also rising everyday. |

Bitcoin has performed really well for 2016 and if you look at the financial sector bitcoin is the only platform that gave a 100% profit and i hope that trend continues this year too but its not that sure,but with the price around $1000 it is a good point to say that it would break some records. |

I believe able to get through the hard times they are, I think it is fair if reached a price of $ 100k, but if all nations begin to support the technology blockchain and also started using
i think people from all over the world are using it and i hope more people are comes towards it in 2017 ...... and i think its price gonna increase more in future so, i think this is the best time for investment..... it will gave a good profit in 2017 to the investors...... you are right that all whole the world people are using bitcoin and i also thoughts that bitcoin will be more rise its price and more increasing its adoption and i think bitcoin bitcoin price will be reach to $2000 at the end of 2017. but to me i think still very little number of people are using bitcoin. may be less than 1% of the total population. i think bitcoin still need more and more introduction and need its proper knowledge so that people can easily and boldly purchase bitcoin and then adopt bitcoin as an essential part of their lives. Don’t make a mistake bitcoin is not close to 1% of the population using it, if it were that would be the equivalent of 70 million users and I don't think we are close to that number also if we were then bitcoin will be used by an amount of people so big that it will have more users than most currencies in the world. |

That's not what I see, the current price will double just like what 2016 has achieve. Our investment is just like earning a compounding interest that will grow substantially overtime. 2017 will be a good year for bitcoin as people are very attracted with the value which is currently at $1,000, this achievement means a lot to us as there will be a media support too, who are keeping an eye for this price to break what has previously achieve as the highest value so far. |

I personally think about bitcoin bitcoin in this year is going to increase significantly. see proges bitcoin in 2016 was fantastic. I hope bitcoin will grow more and more people are using them
I am also thinking of these increase, and i hope it wont go down any lower until these year. Though there are probleems about the chinese and they said that it will affect the price of the bitcoin. hope it will not affect them. yes we ban in 1000 USD level. people are not interested to sell bitcoin even in panic like situation. people like to hold bitcoin for the price increase. i do not think that chines or any other countries can become issue for bitcoin. bitcoin is now adopted in all over the world and still accepting it. therefore it is becoming difficult even for a group of people do manipulate the price of bitcoin or effect bitcoin through any other way. Someone who holds huge enough bitcoins can affect and manipulate the bitcoin price. You said that China can't hve any effect on us because bitcoin users are scattered all around the world? Then how come when some of them sold some of their coins, the price went to back 760$? We affect each other. When I sell my coins, the price would decrease. When I buy some, the price would increase. Regardless of how many people are there, the whole bitcoin thing can be manipulated by any of us. Maybe some wouldn't cause a significant effect, but all the coins surely will. i think he want to say that if people will not sell bitcoin at the same time then it will not impact the price of bitcoin so much. and if the users are scattered then they cannot unit on one point easily. therefore it will also become difficult to manipulate the price of bitcoin so easily. |

Now that there is less hype about china controlling bitcoinI think 2017 will be the year we see an all time high as we have more people than ever getting on board and probably have more countries endorse the use of it as political grounds crash down and will be crawling to bitcoin for redemption.
Till now the Chinese had a major influence in the price of bitcoin and when ever the price is crossing the thousand dollar barrier the Chinese would pull the price down and this was the usual scenario till now and hope the situation changes with time as we are seeing Japan over coming the price the Chinese market in terms of trading volume. |

But before next halving there would be big chances for 10X growth because we can expect mass adoption in between times. Within 2017, we can expect bitcoin prices to get at least doubled. Simply my thoughts for bitcoins in 2017 would be price may reach $2000 levels. I am already getting prepared for that. |

My thoughts are changing. With the recent event where it broke the thousand dollar mark I really got surprised. I really didn't think that it could back as high as that.
I am thankful though because I profited from it. Now I am starting to think to what number could it get better. It is like jumping with its fluctuation and I think it did a good pump to many of us.

I think it is possible to reach and go beyond that thousand dollar mark, as long as there are more user that used bitcoin, and i believed this year there will be more new user to used bitcoin, there are few shops that already accepting bitcoin and the news of bitcoin has been spread wider, so you need to be positive and keep spreading the positive news |

Not sure if you noticed already, but we have gone beyond the thousand mark quite a few times now. Only thing that prevents us from settling there is the lack of support/confidence. It will take time before we can rush further. At this point there are too many entities looking to put their weight on the price in an attempt to push the price back to the $900's. We must overcome that first. and i believed this year there will be more new user to used bitcoin
Bitcoin is gaining recognition as investment and its other features, so it's not that big of a surprise that more users will find their way to Bitcoin. Just look at how the transaction volumes have been increasing in the last 2 years. It's a constant growing level of adoption. there are few shops that already accepting bitcoin
It's always good to have more merchants to start rolling out Bitcoin as payment option, but I don't believe merchant adoption will be that much of a price driver/user attractor. |

Considering the recent halving at bitcoin and the price achieved that were 500 dollars, i do believe this year if we stay at 900-1000 dollars its already a good result for bitcoin, at the halving i do believe people will push it to 1200-1400 dollars, but there still 3 years and some months to this happens.

Agree. The best thing that Bitcoin has is its volatility. Even if it may not reach above $1000, you can still make profit with it, if you know how to exploit the price movements of Bitcoin, and make good amount of profit. I believe that once Bitcoin becomes scalable, with the introduction of SegWit and Lightning Network, its price will rise even more than $2000. Still, this year might be full of surprises for Bitcoin, so it would be best to buy and hold onto your coins for the long term, just in case there is another boom in price. You can also make profit with altcoins, even though there are many which are scamcoins. In the end, I think that Bitcoin will remain the number one cryptocurrency for years to come. Just my thoughts.  |
