You would need tens of thousands or more transaction validators to avoid that

Rome was built in 1 day. I get that.

It's 100% impossible to create a decentralized digital currency.  For consensus you are always relying on a focal point.  That focal point is going to be something like stake, hash power, or some other completely arbitrary, quantifiable metric.  This metric branches off into only two real possibilities, either a winner take all race condition, or something involving compound interest...which is the same thing in practice.

It is like evolution in the natural world.  Whoever is fit mines the coins, while everyone else dies, until some tiny number of organisms, or just one, have a complete monopoly on the land.  People all already knew this shit in the old days because you would see Gavin make dumb posts trying to claim shitcoins are not a zero sum game.  All forms of money are zero sum games.

If the money has a functional Schelling point and I have lots of it and you have none, you are now my slave.  Luckily, the most abusive, designed to centralized forms of money like fiat and digital shitcoins do NOT have functional Schelling points, so it doesn't matter at all if someone has more of it than you.  People simply refuse to use it or abandon it.  On the other hand, if you own none of the money that actually does have a functional Schelling point, you are in deep shit.

OT: All this talk in the MSM of the U.S. stock market "correcting", "plunging", or "crashing". 'Cause muh Tariffs and the Fed raising rates, blah blah blah.  Roll Eyes

Yeah right. People just don't get it. So easy for them to shake the tree in a market that has a valuation that has been easily manipulated and fabricated for over a decade now. That's all it is, the tree being shaken and Wall Street taking up new positions to get ready for a whole new bull run. Nothing more.

Agree. So much fud-spreading in legacy.

Do you have any sense of when they might let that next bull run collapse. Or how?

Anyway, while we wait for btc to moon, the best way to make more btc seems to be trading cfd's for all their crazy AMDs and TSLAs. Which, long may it last.

Common don’t overclass all the rest of the HAT’s

Does anyone have a copy of Elwar's original avatar then?

Still have the twitter page:

And yes, Blue Frontiers is not going forward with the main sale unfortunately. French Polynesia is dragging their feet on giving us a location.

In the mean time I've moved onto another project with a smaller team building something here in Thailand. It's almost done and we plan on having something in the water in January.

No need for investors as we are all early adopters.

We will be selling these things once we've proven that they are safe.

Not publicizing anything due to lessons learned in Tahiti. The only people we care to give information to are those that actually want to have their own seastead.

With any luck, my memory didn't fail me (but I wont hold my breath).  Try this one on!

So iv'e been trying to sell my flat in the UK for 6 weeks now after accepting an offer.  The solicitors are taking thier sweet time, so after the estate agent CCed me into an email to the solicitors asking for an update/progress report I couldn't help myself from emailing back.

Quote

Hi L

I just sent the solicitors an email, apparently I failed an ID check so they need to do an international ID check. Basically the solicitors are squeezing as much cash out of me as they can, as I knew they would. Im sure they will find another reason to squeeze a bit more before completion of the sale and delay things further.

Conveyancing definition:
Professional form fillers that have built a career out of filling out soon to be redundant forms, making excuses for mainly imaginary reasons while hoping they aren't rumbled.  They are also known for pretending that they have a personality or any personal worth at all, and again hoping not to get rumbled. They often suffer relationship issues as partners inevitably discover the extent of their dull personalities and in some cases the lack of a soul itself.

Conveyancers despite the lack of any credible personality traits will however frequently become masters of the dark arts of money extortion, as how else will they gain enough funds to be able buy the latest top of the line IKEA furniture in order to fake a personality or at least attempt to blend in with the rest of humanity.

Conveyancing is a dying trade however, and is due to be fully replaced by AI and blockchain technology within an estimated 10 year time frame.   Courts of law across the world will have no choice but to accept blockchain evidence, and replace the antiquated property system. It has been suggested that people that are currently trained as conveyancers learn the new skill of holding a cap upright, and try to beg for cash instead of extort. Most would not find the transition too difficult as the action of holding a cap is not too dissimilar to pushing a pen.

The international charity "Adopt a Conveyancer" has been going for 3 years now. Their aim is to integrate redundant form fillers back into society and help them come to terms with the fact that they have been replaced by peer to peer system that allows larger transactions to be completed within around 30 mins as apposed to an average lethargic 2 months or more.

Kind Regards
J
