Pretty accurate indeed.
Actually more accurate if not only banks could print notes out of thin air, but also tax players to finance herself.

Hahahaha, it's actually A THING too! Square four if I remember correctly, used to mess me up quite badly because you sometimes step on it straight after passing GO square and have to give back the money you made for going full circle lol

Well..there is no such thing as a free lunch tho

There's no free lunch for honest people.  But dishonest or morally bankrupt people can participate in unsustainable scams like Bitcoin and make off with a free lunch and then leave someone else holding the bag when it implodes.  The fact virtually every single PoW coin that's existed has died or is on life support pretty much tells you how this is going to play out.

People like Gavin Andresen know this bullshit is designed to centralize with zero fundamentals making it a scam - as well as any imaginary widget based on artificial scarcity is a Keynesian scam in general - yet people like that try to opt out of any responsibility by saying "don't buy more than you can afford to lose", and think that makes his hands clean of being a scammer while still hyping it.  It doesn't.  Participating in scams makes you a scammer by default.

I wish I were taxed 10% on my income. I would actually pay money to be taxed 10%!
Even if that looks like more to a wealth tax rather than income tax. In case 10% is yuge!

Edit:  damn.  Can't believe I'm being bludgeoned with tax talk while at work.  Angry

I think there's a rule like which one is higher you have to pay. So if you have 3 grand you don't have a choice but to pay 10% of that which is 300, same scam as taxes in real life

Lol, monopoly is more accurate than I thought... They need to make a bitcoin/crypto edition too where bank is non existent in the game, I'm surprised they haven't come up with that yet

Bitcoin won't make banks magically disappear. If Bitcoin succeeds, banks will adopt Bitcoin, and you will use banks.

Why would I if I can be my own bank? If you have your own phone, do you still go to the taxophone to make a call?

Hm. That would be interesting: Set a timer to run and create new money only on a specific basis. If there is no more bank money then tough noogies.

Wonder how that would impact gameplay....

Holy fucking shit!!!!!

What a world of shitcoins, and initially I was kind of lost, and I thought that bitcoin was not even there.

Then I saw that they called bitcoin something else.. fuck they do not know shit!!!!  Surely was not a WO participant who made that shitty game... and   that game is surely lacking in bitcoin maximalism (and thus lacking in a reality-based perspective).

Hm. The $200 for passing Go could be a block drop. That way there is no need for a bank to "pay" you, it's simply blocks being dropped as the game goes on.

Hm.

Well, objectively, the price of both BCH and BSV are higher than BTC's was, just about 5 years ago, or around 2013-ish ... The problem is they might stick around at least another 5 years just because ... reasons.

Presumably when CW fails to sign a message from any address holding large amounts of corn ahead of this final court date on Feb 3rd then BSV, at least, will suffer a massive dump.

It’s his final opportunity to show he’s (lol) Satoshi. You’d think any of his dumb sheep who buy & believe in BSV will start to sell as it plummets.

BSV @ $50 incoming!

Hopefully the court is going to be tough on Craig, but I have my doubts.

Of course, Craig and his legal team is attempting to engage in kinds of delay tactics and even attempt to play some kind of confusing offer of proof, and it might NOT play out too well for Craig if the court realizes the level of his attempting to play the court system.. and they hopefully crack down on him..... but I am suspecting that they are going to be successful to delay.. not sure, but that is my tentative speculation about February 3.

I believe the courts strategy is to keep him in court so that the lawyers can continue to profit from all sides. It's what they do and its a good personal fuck you to Craiggy Boy.

bitcoin's network security, as represented by its hash rate, has increased sharply over the years, helping build confidence in the blockchain and establishing a positive feedback loop of security and network effect. At press time, bitcoin's hash rate is roughly 100,000,000 Terahashes (or 100 exahashes).

Last one from V8, he's so far out into the asteroid belt, the signal is getting iffy:

GitHubGitHub
Add bip-schnorr, bip-taproot, bip-tapscript by sipa · Pull Request #876 · bitcoin/bips
This adds the 3 BIPs that describe the consensus rules and (basic) wallet operation for the Taproot proposal (https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2019-May/016914.html). There ha...

(Transmission ends).

Space needs rockets, no V8’s. Get the man back!

These BIPs are awesome. Can’t imagine there will again be a long debate and miner signaling game getting them implemented? Perhaps the increased privacy it adds will cause some objections from institutions or exchanges? We will see.
