Criminality and Bitcoin

These days I just have a discussion with some of my buddies and they still feel that bitcoin is only employed for criminality and illegal pursuits like drugs. Its genuinely tough to argue with them given that they do not genuinely know about the particulars on bitcoin. But I have argued that  its not bitcoin fault that it is being exploited by criminals and there are a good deal of constructive things that bitcoin can be used. Like undertaking buying and selling or earning some in a signature campaign or lengthy phrase investments.

they just dont know how the bitcoin works though you cant blame them since they know or they learn bitcoin maybe on the news on some scams, frauds, and criminal activities.

But if used for something as beneficial as funding humanity, I think bitcoin will have a good name.

Bitcoin is just being used because of its features like being anonymous and so on and that is why bitcoin is getting a bad image because of the criminals who are keep doing bad things with bitcoin like selling drugs and illegal things and getting paid in bitcoin so bitcoin is a real victim here and the authorities should do anything to make bitcoin great again.

Criminal activites linked with Bitcoin is one thing, criminality itself is an another. I doubt that the existence of Bitcoin plays a role in increasing criminality or it increases criminality, but even if it is, with our without Bitcoin, criminals will always find a way to do...crime.

Yeah it can be used in criminal activities. Hackers are active these days they try to penetrate in your systems and digital wallets, lock them up and ask for bitcoins as ransom and some even try to sniff all of your bitcoins quietly.

I think bitcoins having many positive aspects have some negatives too like advance criminal activities.

Criminality is older then bitcoin. Maybe it just make transaction anonymous and easier for them. But they will not quit criminality if bitcoin banned or controlled.

Crimes had been increasing even without Bitcoin. Payments for illegal transactions is easier if done through bitcons as names will not be attached to the actual transactions. However, the actual exchange of products are still done physically. The goverments are trying to force us to switch to online banking because they would be able to control all the payments. We can't ban illegal usage of bitcoin because it is not possible. Even if we managed to do it, they would switch to another cryptocurrency which could be more anonymous than bitcoin.

We cannot tell if someone is doing illegal things with bitcoin because it is an online currency and the criminals are smart enough to not become obvious in doing illegal transactions because you can see that they are mostly doing it underground or in the black market so even the police will be reported of criminality with bitcoin then they can't still find the criminal because of the anonymity of bitcoin.

Every currency have been used for criminality,  the law enforcement officer were panicking when bitcoin first emerged. They think that bitcoin is dangerous and made it harder for them to do their job. But now, FBI said that investigators can follow the money.  So, when law enforcement can handle bitcoin / understand how bitcoin works, then the crime rate can be reduced.

That's why my government still forbid bitcoin usage but luckily I can still use my bitcoin without being fear getting jail since there is no regulation yet on my country.

Well, that is really the beauty of bitcoin and how it was made in the first place - to be like a revolution and there is freedom from government regulations. Hence, even if any government ban bitcoin, its residence can actually still use it because the transaction is done online and there is just freedom to how the holder will going to use it.

Don't be to surprise, everything in our world was made with advantages and disadvantages, so does Bitcoin. This just shows how many opportunist are out there that we should be careful of. And I don't believe that bitcoin increases numbers of criminality, because many criminals exist without bitcoin being existed. So they remain criminals before and after, the only problem is that bitcoin was used by them as a tool to support their illegal doings. Which is one disadvantage of bitcoin.

It is really good to have the thinking like you, you are right now the positive and the negative things often happen. The bitcoin is growing as the time passing. Bitcoin is famous among the good and the bad at the same time so it is not impossible to say that to use bitcoin as the criminality but we cannot blame the bitcoin for this because bitcoin is also being use for the noble deeds also as some NGO are taking the funds and the charity as  the bitcoin.
