Just thought a little perspective might be good:

We are comming up on BH 7000 and there are a little under 8000 tokens per block so roughly 56 million tokens will be mined in the near future.

4 billion tokens were sold during the ICO.

This means when the ICO tokens are released roughly 1.4% of tokens available will be from mining... does that really sound like a number that is going to have a drastic affect on the market price or does everyone think they were going to be the very first person on the exchange selling and getting top dollar for their coins, because reality check, not everyone can be first. Who knows, the delay might even help due to there being some volume in the market instead of dumpers dropping straight into an empty orderbook.

Could the launch have gone smoother, absolutely. Is it the worst launch ever, not even close. When level heads preail will these hickups have a meaningful impact on the product, no.

The reality is the value of this product wont be seen until all the quick cash grabbers have liquidated, the and the market has had time to settle and crypto enthusiasts begin to mine on their phones and bring new people into the space as they share this with their friends. You can make money overnight but big money is made in the long game.

thats not the reason why investors are angry. electroneum has broken 2 promises. 1. launch on 1 nov. 2. no trasnfer fees.

investors have bought a product (etn token) so now etn team must deliver and open the wallet. and come on simple passwd change isnt a big problem to stop the launch of the wallet..its easy to send emails to all customers to change their passwd and after the wallet canstart/open..thats not a problem with 40m$ in the back :-)

I am very tired as well with a few others of this thread because of all the uncertainty. If you bought because of the middle or long term than none of this should bother you can it was kind of expected to me (being a programmer) their is always going to be some problems with a huge launch because you cant properly test for this magnitude.

also it is good they did not launch because it would have been worse if coins got stolen.

mining is not a prob because the we only got big coin for first 8 hours and then the difficulty adjusted big time.

I think this will be a great project in the future so the ICO holders need to HOLD.

This forum should be more about helping others with the CLI and what pool is the best not spreading uncertainty.

I am  sure you are right. It still isnt right to release it to the exchange and not allow the people who put 40 million dollars into their pockets to reap some rewards.  I'd sell enough to get my 15K investment back like most good investors would do. Then sit on the rest.   Any of these users who cant understand that logic just like to argue and give people sh*t.

The premise of this token was Mobile mining. That is what attracted people to Electroneum. But as it stands, people with gpu mining rigs & farms have taken over the mining aspect (most important) and the promise of mining with mobile phones seems to be a broken one. How will the mobile mining work when not even my i7 cpu can't mine 2-3 coins within 48 hours? How will people mine with simple mobile phone when the difficulty, currently is 3602517794? Thats 3billion by the way. Considering many more will jump in to mining, that difficulty will quad triple within a day or two.
Also why the fuck will you create a wallet without a user interface? So much unprofessional behaviour with what was perceived as a competent idea.
Unless a new algorithm is created for the mobile mining side of it, with equal rewards, then there really isn't any point in mining this coin.

I think the majority of investors won't dump all their coins. But i think it was not a fair start to release the mining for CPU and GPU before the release of the ICO funds and the release of the Mobile mining.
It is not fair for the people who are not in the technical field for mining.
But it is great to see that the price of this coin is actually very good. And we all hope that it will increase.

What is the plan for mobile mining? Will there be a new algorithm for it? As it stands, mobile mining is now obsolete, which was your main selling point at the ICO stage.

You cant yet. Only miners are able to.  Investors will be able to in the next 24 hours it sounds like.  Unusual way they chose to release it to exchanges.  Very unorthodox.   Possible they even did this  on purpose to give it a higher price initially.   Makes it look better.  Who knows. Frustrating that is for sure.

Sources of Pool GIT should be updated as well as sources of wallet.

Still can't compile Wallet on Linux (Ubuntu 16), but did some fooling around and managed to get wallet to work.

Can compile Pool, but isn't working as it should.
What are RCP port and wallet port?
