Phillip,

Dont worry about me with the colorful board, im awaiting my memory still to test my D1800, also im not buying any GPU's yet tell i get my insurance stuff settled.... I had to hire a lawyer to go after my own insurance for $68,000 worth of GPU's that the hurricane took out.

omg tell us how this works for you why doesnt insurance want to pay for the gpus?
did you predeclare the  valuecand have invoices recipts and pictures of the damage

I own multiple rental properties, so i have my LLC insured under an umbrella policy up to 1 million, then under that i have general rental insurance on all my rental properties. I own a duplex with double single car garage that was needing to be refreshed after 10+ year renter moving out on one side, so i moved most of my gear into that unit, then shortly after that the renter in the other half decided to move out, so to give me time to workout shopping for a warehouse or appropriate location to run my mining gear, i installed the majority of my mining rigs split between the 2 sides and installed security bars on the windows on the garage and vents on the garage doors so i could leave the windows open for ventilation. Between both sides i had 350amps, so it worked out perfect while i started gutting the property on my spare time to do the reno myself. Things were doing so well with the gear located in the duplex and it was costing me nearly as much as most warehouses i came across, so i had been running it that way for a while.....

I did not disclose what gear i had or what i was doing with it, i just increased my personal property limit to 100k.

Hurricane Irma came through and knocked one of the large oak trees in the back yard onto the roof of the property and over the week of raining and wind from the hurricane and me being out of town because of the evacuation, the roof was peeled open from the tree damage area exposing most of the house to the elements allowing all my gear to get wet. I honestly should have shut it all down and it may have saved it all, but with electronics having so much capacitance charges, im sure it would have still gotten damage in some regard.

Insurance asked me to send them in to see if they could be repaired under warranty (still confused why this was ordered of me)....

After most coming back unrepairable, the insurance company is trying to snake out of paying out by claiming that the property was insured as a residential rental property and conducting a business not classified under the definition of a residential rentor/rentee, that i was apparently running the wrong type of insurance to cover the equipment. They are trying to tell me you cant conduct a business within a residential property and insure any business property being used by it without carrying commercial non-residential business insurance.... Basically saying the house is not zoned for the business and i couldn't get insurance to cover it even if i wanted to due to improper zoning and other reasons they listed.

The thing is i never told them i was running a business, not once did i even tell them about crypto, i filed a claim and just listed all the computer equipment, the insurance company assumed and are approaching this all as if i was running a business. I even asked them what business they are claiming i am doing and answered bitcoin mining.... I never claimed the statement was true, but stated it was just a computer hobby and the insurance lady told me even if its not bitcoin mining, the amount of money im claiming on personal computer equipment falls under the insurance guidelines of some excessive bs section of their rules, basically worded along the lines of the insurance company is not liable outside of 2 personal computers per residence listed on the policy as occupying the property. so if i was the only person claiming to live there, they are saying they are only liable to pay me for 2 of the computers to include only 2 graphics cards, so they offered me a settlement for the replacement only on 2 dell pc's and 2 1080ti's

- GPUs Mining : 128 (Updated 3/7/18) // CPUs Mining : 19 (Updated 2/23/18)

Storx, ask them for a business name and license/ID that they are accusing you of having...

For all they are concerned, it could be a hobby......

Its all a farse though.... They are not keen on actually having to pay out anytime... and since this is a high dollar item... they are going to try twice as hard to weasel out of covering you.

If it was bought on company money, from a business account linked to said business they accuse you of having... then they may be onto something....   But, again... burden of proof.

Its sad that you may have to sue them over it.   But apparently its the new "all-american way" of getting money easily.....  Instead of doing XXX for quick cash, its now suing people instead.

The B250 D8P is the one you are sending me right?  I kind of couldn't make heads or tails since there's been many boards talked about in these last 3-4 pages... lol Wink

The D8P is a pretty sexy beast.

Hi Guys - I have my avalon 741 all setup.  I'm able to get to OpenWRT webUI.  I was able to configure CGMiner, in the CGMiner Configuration tab.

When I click the CGI Miner API Log or CG Miner Status and I get a bad gateway request.

Any help would be appreciated.  I am willing to throw some coin your way for helping.

edit:

Bad Gateway
The process did not produce any response

I'd check for an avalon thread and see if there's any similar issues....  Seems like an odd problem.. almost as if the controller has a bad flash or something... (missing data maybe?)

okay  yeah  the ONDA B250 D8p  is the one I am sending out.

The avalon  is  broken

the list  of what can be wrong is

shit brick the under powers the rasp pi
shit usb micro cable
shit 5 pin cable.

those 3 can be replaced.  amazon has  the parts

next  bad AUC3  a royal P.I.T.A.  try  the thread or ask minerwarez

next bad inside controller    that you plug in the 5 pin cable  no replacements try  minerwarez
next bad  hash board          that is insdie the miner   no replacements try minerwarez.

also bad psu  at least 1200 watter is needed
last bad internet cable least likely  since you can get to the rasp pi

I have the same problem  and in my case one hash board is dead.

1 board left for two guys.

I have  commitment for 5 boards maybe 6

I will pull trigger  for 10 more.

Yeah the Onda seems  to be the real board

I will be doing more testing with it.

My knock off colorful  has loose pcie connectors

so even though I like the design I think the pcie jacks on mine are not so good.

Thanks again Phil =)

And... OMG.... only now... after looking at the onda website pics again... did I notice the extra 4 1x connectors.....  They hid them pretty well.

Damn...   This one board will probably be all I need for the one cabinet I will be setting up at home....

Exciting times we live in!

man this makes me think my small farm in my garage and basement could have the same issue
i have a 100k home onwrs policly but i bought most of my gear under my buisness name.

that zoning thing is bs, where the location. is should have no bearing on insurance as long as it covers your loss wtf

As somebody who had (including the wife's) collectively 27 insurance policies from property liability to death to disability I can tell you most of the terms on home-owner property insurance typically state that anything in excess of 10K in niche field is not covered unless you have a specialized rider policy. I found this out the hard way after losing about $40k in a home burglary and my wife's wedding ring wasn't covered because we didn't have a special policy. I have over 250k of "stuff" that most normal people wouldn't have including Lego collections and tools and of course miners.

Each insurance policy is different, but if you want 100% assurance you have coverage you either need to have an adjuster come out and get a letter in writing or document in video/photos the items you want covered and get a written notice affirming such. Taking somebody's word over the phone is useless.

New pre-builts from china using no riser boards.

9 gpu: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013.1.20141002.7.272b0aafHiBmrq&scm=1007.10009.70205.100200300000001&id=559361209325&pvid=eb418041-bc49-4016-ba54-1c628f1b83a5

another 9 gpu: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.68.404d47be6wmcpQ&id=558894799622&ns=1&abbucket=6#detail

8 gpu: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013.1.20141002.4.4d069983tpRGJ&scm=1007.10009.70205.100200300000001&id=557638331234&pvid=8862e80f-21fa-4f02-9443-24e9f19e1de4

Some things I notice

1) PSU is external. just plug in to the 8 exposed pcie slots and we are all good to go

2) On the mobo, at each pcie slot there's a pcie cable. It's not for the psu to go in, but rather a male to male, out from mobo, into gpu.

I will be hesitant to run 1080tis on this due to power management. But 1060/1070s should be fine. I like how solutions are developing.

So back to Electroneum (ETN) for a moment. The price backed off a bit since the .045 high... now at around .037 but still showing as the most profitable coin to mine (for 470s) currently.  Here's the weird thing though... last night while looking at the CoinMarketCap listings for the umpteenth time, I noticed that ETN mysteriously disappeared from the list.  I just checked again on the app and their website and it's still not there. Yes, it lost about 20% of it's value since being ranked around #25 at ~$250M but even after the drop should still be around $200M or top 40 for sure, but it is nowhere on the list at all.  Has anyone seen this happen before?  Hopefully it's not a bad omen ;-)

Phil did you test this board with 8 GPU's yet? Did you try with both AMD and Nvidia?

I've really been wanting to buy something like this : https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/mining-machine-ETH-machine-4u-8xgpu_60708486305.html?

This is a bare-bones based on this motherboard, and would really speed up scaling/deployment for my new farm.

i can verify this. they record everything. might be a good idea make notes on every call as to what you said. and ask for  a reference number for the calls for your records. i also ask for 1st name and 1st initial of last name. they are used to this.

This is a bare-bones based on this motherboard, and would really speed up scaling/deployment for my new farm.

That is a slick case for the Onda B250.

In my GPU farm, we initially wanted to do a simple frame/case/chassis design like Genesis Mining but eventually adopted the open cage / open air approach to ensure best ventilation and easy maintenance, by just hanging GPUs with an S hook and zip tie to keep them in place -- all vents and blower pointed upwards.

My best observation is that ... if you are looking at 10, even up to 20, 30 rigs -- you might as rack them up, and have a controlled environment and use the casing/chassis and fans to redirect heat to create a hot air zone. From there use some form of a shroud/canvass to easily move air using blower fans (yunn6666 took this effective approach).

For my case, my group's long term plans in excess of 100 rigs (maybe 200 rigs if my 2018 cost analysis is approved by the group) and the open cage strategy was the simplest, fast-to-deploy and cost effective. All we had to do is have a cooling system for the entire warehouse. With Cryotonight and Equihash mining currently, we have successfully maintained the 32-33c overall temps for the farms.

I do have a crazy idea for the 2018 though - to standardize each rig 12 GPU at at time....

Any takers?

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

I don't understand that case design.  Why are the GPUs shown mounted upside down?

FWIW, I'm also working on a frame and a case for the Onda B250 board.
