I would be happy to, but I do not feel I have the technical skill set to judge other people's work in this area. Maybe we should post this on Coinzen as well.

That's ok, it's about aesthetics as much as technical ability in this particular case. Unless there are no specific objections, you're the second judge. Come on everyone, don't be shy, I was expecting more participation than this. We need 2 more judges for the website revamp competition, easy job, no pressure, serejandmyself and myself (and myself) will do all the coordination, you just have to turn up. If it even slightly takes your fancy put your hand up! You get to crush people's dreams!!
I'll help judge. Great, thanks ranlo. So we have our three judges: serejandmyself, papacrusher and ranlo. Since serejandmyself was the instigator and first judge, he'll be the coordinator. Are you ok with that serej? What you need to do next is come up with a list of criteria for what you want the site to be, and they don't have to just be technical criteria. Aesthetic criteria are important too - how should it look, other sites comparable, etc. You can be specific, or airey fairy, its up to you, although the more specific you are, the better for designers. You can discuss that here or in pms (you can do a 3-way chat pretty easily on the forum), and once you have a list you're satisfied with, which you think reasonable for a designer, post it here and we'll give it a bounty and deadline for mockups. What does everyone think about share awards for designs? I'm thinking it might encourage more actual submissions, so if there's a general consensus, I'll propose 1 winning design award of 6 shares, and 2 consolation awards of 3 shares each, for designs the judges like but don't pick. Those consolation awards don't have to be given out, they're only there to reward a good design that didn't win. The full site bounty will then be assessed and proposed based on the estimated time to complete it, and only awarded upon completion. The unique thing about this bounty, is that the designer will have exclusive rights to work on the bounty as proposed, for a period of time we set once we estimate how long it'll take, and then it'll be open to all (to implement the winning design). If no designs are submitted before the design deadline, we will double the design awards and set another one. How does that sound? Any changes? Ok no probs, i'd say i contact the 2 people involved first and discuss with them their thoughts. And we come up with a list of critirea in a number of days |

Not sure whether you consider it good news or not, but big changes happening to the share list distribution in the coming rounds. All in the proposal. |

Many virus scanners throw a fit because it used libcurl and bitcoin itself has issues passing virus scans. Its safe if you can ignore it.

Further to this, here's one of the articles he wrote on devtome (username samkary, has link in article), about devcoins in africa: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=how_i_spent_my_devcoins_in_africa. As you all know we're not a charity, and he's earned his shares the same as everyone else, but it pleases me greatly that we can have this sort of impact on people's lives. It's a really inspirational story, and I encourage everyone to read it to see what your support of devcoins is actually doing in the far flung reaches of the world. As far as I can see he's still consistently contributing to devtome with a current 80 median rating..apparently I rated him 85 a few months ago too, so I think he's a good writer and an asset to devtome and the devcoin community. When I was talking about devcoins being better as a transaction coin, this is pretty much a prime example of what I meant. It doesn't matter where in the world people come from; having a passion for writing, creating, and programming for the good of all, doesn't necessarily mean they will have local options to make the best use of their raw talents, enough to draw an income from. We're providing a platform for people with these talents but without opportunity, and those who would support them to meet, and I am humbled to be a part of something that could improve the lives of potentially so many people. I know I've only recently been given lead administrator role, but I want to sincerely thank all of you long term devcoin investors out there for having the vision and altruism to put humanity first in the way you have done here. |

Ok so here is the list considering all judges opinion : Criteria list for the new DVC website : The website must,1) Be modern and progressive 2) Have cutting edge graphics and functions 3) Should be interactive and user friendly as much as possible 4) Be easy to read and be understandable to anyone (layout included) 5) Load quickly enough 6) State DVC mission, include FAQ about the basics of DVC, explain its purpose and history 7) Consider DVC’s logo and colors in its design 8 ) Make it easy to understand links to various aspects of DVC (i.e. bounties, Devtome, forums etc.) 9) Not be heavy on the eye and be designed with lay in mind due to the fact that some participants (investors and such) might not be overly technical. |

Great, so based on the criteria in the post by serejandmyself below, there is a bounty of 6 shares (plus up to two 3-share consolation bounties) for designs/mockups submitted by 22nd October 2014 1200 UTC. If no designs have been submitted by this date, or no designs satisfy all the judges, we'll increase the shares awarded and set a new deadline until this task is completed. The length of time judges need should be about a week to come to a decision after this date. This bounty is for a design or mockup only, and the winner will have exclusive rights to work on the actual website using their design for one month, before it opens up to everyone using the same winning design. The 6 shares award is for the rights for the devcoin community to use that design in an updated devcoin.org. The site itself merits a bounty of 24 shares, split between designers/developers as they see fit. The designer doesn't have to be able to code the site up themselves, just make it look good, and fit the criteria below. If the designer opts not to create the website itself, they can waive their right to exclusivity and we'll open it up to anyone using that design. I'm sure there are developers willing to aid in the task of wiring it all together lurking around, either way. Submissions are welcome either as links to images or mockup sites with trash data. I would say at least two pages should be included for the design. Any objections or something that should be changed or clarified?
