Halong does not need help with advertising. I personally appreciate your commitment to this community and to your history of making reviews for the public, however, Halong does not need the positive PR. Like I said, if I had it my way, I would send every 4.5-5 user on this entire forum a unit to test for free. But, it’s not my call to make.
I had a friend (Tommy) he owned a nice deli in New York. It had a great location with no competition he did very well with it. His kid brother Vinny got married and the family decided he should run the deli to raise a new family with his new wife. Vinny was a nice kid but a stupid shit for brains businessman. He was nasty to customers his attitude was my location is so fucking good that the customers must come to me or walk a ½ mile to the nearest deli. In under 18 months he crushed the business. Because customers simply said fuck you and walked the ½ mile to the next Deli. His brother Tommy took the business back and it was flourishing in under 6 months. It is obvious we are dealing with a Vinny not a Tommy on this thread. As I said I have zero need for the product. When you launch it for real maybe I will do a small group buy maybe not. Good luck when bitmain puts the screws to you and simply undercuts your price like they did with the Sp20 I understand what you're saying, but these are not deli products, these are money making machines. You can spit in the face of your customers and they will still line up to buy. If at some point supply and demand get to a reasonable equilibrium, and there are enough competitors, then they would need to figure something out. They can come up with "customer care" bullshit later if they need to, people have short memory. while today when any machine makes solid money and people think that btc may top 50 by jan 2019 the fuck you blow me bitch. or the "no soup for you" soup nazi will work they don't work in a squeeze. As I said I don't give a shit about basics as long as gpus are making unreal money those who care about asics will get burned. Gpus on amazon 30 day return policy with zero issues gpus 45 day return policy on best buy (elite plus) with zero issues gpus 30 day return policy from newegg no issues. all have 1 year some 2 and some 3 year warranties that get honored more often and easier then any asic. I was 100 % asic until spring of 2016 I started with more gpus and now 20 months later I have 3x to 4x in gpus then asics. basically because asic companies suck and gpu companies are okay. This is not going un noticed by bigger players samsung and BaiKai are looking at a joint venture intel may partner up. players like the companies on this thread will be swept away down the road. I guess they believe that is true and why they are in the "no soup for you" mode

I've seen some unicorns and I've met a big foot.. There's more than one. I also hold ten million dollars worth of assorted coins. Guess which one is true.
probably not a good idea to be advertising that online I can't hide it, it's already public. I mean, you haven't seen any unicorns yet? I own a unicorn. Well, a functioning AMT A1 1THs miner: 1 of maybe 10 built and sent to customers. (lighted fans added by me) Even then only after it was very clear that Bitmine.ch was going down the toilet and no help to him, Josh had it made by a former Dragon maker to use the chips that Bitmine.ch made him buy as part of being an Authorized distributor for their A1 designs. With Bitmine's designs all being crap he had no other choice. Why I got one is probably because I was one of the few folks here trying to help Josh with the numerous issues the base Bitmine.ch design had. Kudo's to him for that however AMT's other customers got nothing except bills from their lawyers after they sued Josh Zipkin/AMT. Lawsuit is still unresolved btw. That all brings us back to perhaps this Halong miner does exist. If so it is certain that by now several hundred would have been made and tested - prototype runs are NOT done 1 and 2 at a time. You don't get 1 PCB made - MOQ's even from a proto house is usually 12 or more. In AMT's case it was 100 boards. They did 4 revisions, all sorta worked for a brief time. Assuming Halong is in the same boat I can understand not wanting to provide demos but of course that would also mean admitting the design/production process is still a work-in-progress. From what has been seen here so far Halong is not about to let any mouthpiece say that.

I also think it will be delivered too late and bitmain will counterpunch them. I think they needed to say nothing until they could do a 100 unit sale. (assuming it is kick ass as claimed) By selling 100 1 at a time on first batch they could have done a huge preorder after that. Now most people think poorly of there ability to deal with customers. I ordered 5 of these ONDA J1800 and 5 of these ONDA B250 I paid 1220 for the 10 used paypal sent the funds on Dec 30th they arrive on Jan 8th

So you can build 10 rigs. I know you use 6 on the six card and you use 7 or 8 on the eight card.
So 5 x 6 = 30 plus 5 x 7 = 35 So you can do 65 gpus for the 10 rigs.

@ yankees it is not that I can do 65 gpus. I can have them running in under 2 weeks.
While this gear is 2 or 3 months out. If it is real at all. Asic builders are causing huge growth for gpu builders.
So 10 mobos have 6 months paypal protection.
If I buy gpus I have a return policy of 45 days from best buy due to my elite plus status. I have a 30 day return policy from amazon
I don't understand why this company wants to drive us into gpu mining .

I understand that concern about the possibility of spoofing slushpool.
I would certainly be willing for elokk to type some random work name into my slush pool account and then change the worker name accordingly on the miner config page.
No! Wrong! Allowing a customer to enter a random worker name into YOUR slush pool account is NOT PROOF! You could have SHARED your slush account login with another person before hand who is MONITORING your workers. As soon as they see a worker spin up on your account they just add hash to that worker. It has to be done "blind" on an account that you do not know the password and you do not know the worker name. EVERYTHING has to be on the up and up or else its a scam.

If fact, if the miner has a web page, someone else could be remotely monitoring any stratum/user used on your so-called prototype miner. Therefore, the ONLY PROOF is an INDEPENDENT review performed in an environment that is NOT CONTROLLED by Halong. Pictures and video of your setup would be REASSURING but NOT PROOF!

I've been in touch with Scott and have made plans to visit him early this upcoming week - he's actually way closer to me than I originally thought.
I look forward to meeting Scott and checking out what he and Halong are all about!
As a disclaimer, I don't have any skin in this with Halong - I don't have any preorders with them nor have I been promised/offered anything at all. I've not known of Scott prior to this thread. I'm visiting Scott because of how close he is to me and my interest in the mining field. I've been mostly exclusive with Bitmain in my mining needs in the last few years.
Why has your account been inactive since 2015? Holy shiat, u are right. Dimaze account is inactive since 2015. His next 3 posts after that are all in the halongmining thread....... and he is going to meet scott? U think this is a bought account? Also, their local times are 6 hours apart. How is that possible if they live near each other??? I think can only be believable if a few reputable members visit scott?? Scott - I've reached out to you via text from my local number. I'm about 25 minutes from you and would love to meet up with you.
I've preordered tons of miners in the past -- from the first Avalon batch, theKNC Jupiters, to the most recent batches of S9s. Would love to see what Halong has in store!

Slow down turbo! Did you not see the part where he signed a message from an old addy? I didn't check when the addy was posted but if its one from before he went inactive, then there is no reason to think it's not the original owner. I also didn't verify the message, mostly because I don't really care but someone could check those two things if they cared. Edit: On top of that he said hes going for himself, not for the forum. We already know he wont be able to provide enough HARD evidence. So it's kinda meh anyways...

I wouldn't have known about Scott and his proximity to me if it wasn't for the community here and his responses, I'll certainly try to get as many details as I can to provide.

A possible explanation, in case they are legit, to ignore the request for evidence is: they just don't need to give a shit about anything to make tons of money. In the current market you put a crypto banana for sale and you get you inbox full of people trying to buy it. So why even bother? Look at players like Innosilicon or Baikal, they treat you like shit and they sell all they want. I think they could put "BTW: Fuck you" in the signature of their emails and still sell all they want... Sigh...
Manners cost nothing. It's possible a well run and adventurous mining hardware company could become a unicorn from hell. Theoretically there's over 100 years of Bitcoin mining still to go. That's more than a century of business to nurture. If you start off like a little penis that's not setting you up for a respectable future.

Sandal_Hat, I have not been given permission to divulge further information about the DragonMint at this time. If I had it my way, every 4.5 - 5.0 star member of this forum would get their own free miner to review, but I'm strictly a pawn in this game. I don't have that kind of sway at Halong. Like I've said before... come to Brookfield, Wisconsin, USA (20 minutes West of the city of Milwaukee) and I'll be happy to show you some units currently in action. My phone number is +1-262-844-5773. I have a few demos lined up for the next couple of weeks already. If you're looking to by 1000+ units, I'd be happy to have you in my town, show you the miner and perhaps go out for drinks after and all be happy together. Scott O. but u wont just show a credible video and review of it which will take far less time. I believe it is because u cant do so....
Why not juz send a copy to one of the legendaries here for review. Prove my gut feeling wrong and I will apologize and remove all my posts from this thread.
Scott, I see they are back for sale today. I'm a few hours from Milwaukee and will leave immediately to see the machine with your permission. Ive followed this thread since day one so ill be the first to say that this is my first post ever on bitcointalk and im 100% newbie. But i have the BTC ready to go and am very interested. Just need a little better verification than whats available online. Again, I would like to come see the machine for myself while the 2nd April batch is available; with permission, i will head to your place immediately (i.e. its 7am CT 1/8/2018, ill be out the door by 7:20am) - i can be there in 4.5 hours max. If all is as expected ill order 10 from your house.

No one in their right mind WON'T ORDER until there is some proof, so far what has been heard is yadda yadda yadda, nonsense, etc etc, and Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing On Rainbows . DO NOT PREORDER. With ideology "we need money" but we can't show anything no one should just waste 2k on them.
