so they don't want publicity or big demand.... yet they stating vaporware hype
right.. if true you'd just build your batch, put your massive new miner farm to work minting you money directly.
Then halfway through you'd blow the dust off of them, make some videos THEN sell them

http://tinypic.com/r/15gck9h/9Good morning everyone. So I joined the Dragonmint conversation on Telegram and apparently they can arrange for a demo at any of the myrig offices around the world. So that would mean that more than one unit exists. Unfortunately I am from South Africa so will not be able to make it to any of the myrig offices.

It’s already been stated pages back that the address they list in Denver is for a UPS store, not a myrig facility.

You can join the DragonMint community channel at https://t.me/DragonMintThere are indeed meetings going in Miami between customers and MyRig and Halong staff. There was never a "demo day", this was a rumour that started because some people reported publicly they had appointments to meet and discuss their orders in Miami which happens to be around the time of the "BTC Miami" event. These are unrelated. FYI, it's not possible to have a public conference in any case, because the meeting organizers of BtcMiami bind the whole area with non-compete agreements prohibiting hotels from hosting any other Bitcoin events. I presume this is because they drive so much premium paying customers, they can muscle these terms. The Miami meetings are 15 minute slots per customer by prior arrangement, with mutual NDA in place to protect customer's interests as well as our own. If they like to say they were at the meeting, and they saw the miner, that's fine of course. This is normal. As for the miner, DragonMint 16T is a real product and is hashes at ~16TH. We deliberately chose minimal publicity because demand is too high, the last thing we need is the entire world banging at our door when we cannot meet demand. The point of publicity is to sell, and we have zero difficulty. The blake2b miner is also real, and there'll be a video of that coming soon. Surprise, we have more algos on the way too, and if you don't like that, we are sorry. Our engineering team has a lot of fun and enthusiasm for making new ASIC products. Since we have the resources, we let them play. Consider this like Google's 20% work rule where employees can spend 1 day a week working on anything they like for the company. New algos do not interfere with out flagship BTC product because resources are siloed. Halong Mining is a huge project with lots of moving parts. We have chosen our particular strategy deliberately, even though it may not appear to be traditional - we're not in a traditional space anyway. This whole magical internet money has already ballooned out of all proportions - it's literally insane - so Halong's approach is frankly tame in that backdrop. In any case, there will be no vindication until miners show up in mass starting in March. Even then, there will never be an end to criticism regardless of what we do and our long term strategy is more important. As far as we are concerned, letting conspiracies run wild will only make us look better when all of our promises turn out to be true. We wont change or be cajoled to change our strategy. Some of the conspiracies are pretty amazing, from being an overclocked Ant to a stolen miner. We might actually give a prize for the most imaginative theories after March, that could be fun. Let's be playful. Healthy scepticism is very welcomed, so keep it coming. Our goal is very simple, we're going to stimulate competition in the mining space because we believe that is the best way to support the utility of Bitcoin. It is only by maintaining and strengthening the unique properties of Bitcoin, that the utility can increase - it's the foundation. The consensus protocol relies on rational economic incentives, so, if these assumptions hold true, it will be profitable. If not, Bitcoin is a failed project anyway. For those in the community calling for the downfall of the incumbent mining manufacturer, we have a different point of view - if that happened it would be a disaster, and a failure of the core objective of our project. We believe competition through innovation - at the end of the day, we're all contributing to Bitcoin's security, and we all win when we work collaboratively. There's plenty room for everyone and let's have fun while we are at it. Bitcoin is about building a different future that includes individual financial sovereignty as a foundation. Thank you. Decent post. Thank you for the hard effort and glad to see that you understand the suspicion around your products. Please consider a discount for the forum miners and maybe priority shipping They endured a lot in the past to help keeping the network secure AND decentralized. They are hobbyist miners and you can never have enough of them if we price the decentralization!

It's worth checking out their Telegram chatroom, which is where I think most people went. I think you'll understand why this forum has gone silient for the most part. Lots of solid info. Many postings by Drak, Scott, Yoshi.

They are hobbyist miners and you can never have enough of them if we price the decentralization! This board and (all) the users should get benefits? Why you think this? They helped what? After those scam screamers and bad talking about Halong I really hope they will give away benefits and discounts to customers and believers who already bought - and not to those who made Halong bad or who just waiting scarry in their snail shell to buy after its out on the market. And giving a good price to the first buyers, maybe a production price and a black friday price, and giving the late customers the real market price is fair. Cheers

so if it exists they are mining the frack out of them with the pre-order money...and you guys may be shipped the stuff after
(it is how KNC and BFL rolled on this kinda thing, back in the day)
but I mean really, March shipping and no real proof of product....at the very least these guys are clueless on product launch
but again, really no demo and no pics of any note ..showing real hash rate and tech details
sheesh

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

The sad part is (assuming its NOT a scam) that it's all intentional. "Just wait till it comes out and we'll be vindicated" is the business model.

I totally get that type of business model if they were a known and trusted company--with past product. This, unfortunately, is not the case with Halong. Partnering with myrig was smart, so long as myrig actually accepts PayPal when pre-sales begin again. Not that Paypal is the best choice, but it adds the ability to fight back in the case of a scam.
If Bitmain would dump product on the market to have miners nearly always available, they would own the space and kill the secondary market. In the absence of product, there will always be those who will fill the void with a scam. One day someone will come along and compete, I just hope it is Halong, but I am still 50/50 on the topic.

PayPal is only good if you get item in 30 days. Or if you file dispute before that 45 days If not sh*t out of luck. See alpha-tech thread on how they scam’d PayPal with this Combined with only 30% down. They just strung stuff out with delays last above and Declared bankruptcy and walked with cash. Above was Amex. MasterCard and Visa may Have been 45 days. See defunct alpha-tech thread on bitcointalk on how this played Out. Keep your PayPal order date in mind. File dispute if 30 day deadline happens For another 15 days to make it 45 days. This may also only work with credit card order And usually say it is between you and PayPal. Just a heads up. In case this goes pear shaped

I am following this closely, Honestly, I don't think this is gonna end well. So many things sound too familiar with the Vega miners etc etc. The only difference is this thing was "kinda vouched for" by Adam Back, who is looking more and more likely to lose some cred at this point.

I think the risk of fraud is impossible or improbable, that is impossible because there is half the world in their footsteps, therefore, the guys from Halongmining and partners like Myrig and his supporters will not run away with the buyers' money, there is only one small probability or suspect that they can, instead, fill their bank accounts by playing with the money of others in trading or mining before the deliveries are completed, means that this hardware before being delivered will be used in their farms for at least 1 month generating profit for in the following, to be sent to the addresses of the buyers, moreover, the price is almost doubled from the day of the announcement. All to the detriment of decentralization and good social intentions of which the cryptocurrencies and the blockchain want to be the cornerstone. I'm not here to explain, but only to contribute to the chaos, because this is the side effect of their business policy.
