People... I am the one that told everyone about the "Demo Day" I was the only one with an invitation on here, and it was proven by the organizer of the event that Halong isn't invited. It its 2 hours past the showing times they promised for demo day and not 1 scrap of information has come out. There is no more "wait for demo day for news" demo day has come and gone and there is nothing. The evidence is there. Why do people keep going back to Adam, is it so hard for you to understand how scams work. He can get payed in Bitcoin to promote the product, claim ignorance and there will never be a record that he was paid. Once again Scott is working directly for Halong under the email sales@halongmining.com . If he is even a real person and not Halong itself. Scott Offord also owns beepods.com according to his facebook. Looks like an established business. Doesn't that have some credibility?

I received the same response but was asked if I wanted to go meet in Miami on the 20th for "demonstration day" of their machine.
Read your own post. You said it was on Saturday the 20th.

Still waiting answers from Halong Mining and/or Innosilicon for questions about the exact same controller hardware design and also the same software. After further research and after being in contact with Innosilicon our company will no longer be going to Miami for the demonstration day.
We have talked to Innosilicon regarding Halong using one of their machines in the press pictures and we have reached a concrete verdict. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Caveat emptor, please do not delve any further into this smoke and mirror operation and put more money into this. We have done the most intensive research by far of anyone online and there simply isn't a silver lining.
If anyone wants more information feel free to pm me, and if anyone wants our spot for the demo day or information on it also pm.
Well I'd like to remind everyone that I did say this smells a lot like Innosilicon hardware and software with different labelling. This partnership with Myrig.com is the most positive thing that has happened so far, but I'm affraid their retail price will be really really high, the same as with the S9 miners. Some new images are uploaded in the Myrig.com shop. I managed to find the high-res images, they were 'hidden'.
See this Imgur album for the picture found at DragonMint product page: https://imgur.com/a/WaHLdWe can finally have a slightly little better look at the miner. For cooling there seems to be two pieces Delta TFC1212DE, front and back, in a push-pull configuration. And I think I now know why the miner web configuration page was just like with the Innosilicon A5 and A4+. The DragonMint miner has the exact same controller board. See it for yourself, here is a picture for comparison: https://i.imgur.com/jxHeSP6.jpgAlso the steel case tube looks a lot like the one Innosilicon uses for the A5 and A4+. Maybe the Halong Mining actually has a subcontract for these miners to be manufactured by Innosilicon? And another design comparison here (pay attention to the controller with this image as well): https://i.imgur.com/a9sZcJa.jpgI surely can't be the only one who sees these similiar design details? One detail to also pay attention is that the Innosilicon control board uses reversed PWM signal for the cooling fan control. This method is not that commonly used. Delta TFC1212DE are cooling fans that are controlled with a reversed PWM signal. DragonMint and Innosilicon A4+, A5 miners use these cooling fans. This detail also supports my theory.

Halong may very well have every intention of trying to create an actual miner so this is not the typical run away with the money scam. However they are completely deceptive in their tactics.
This just sparked an idea in my mind... the initial conversation about Halong having $30 Million in development funds is backed by zero data. Whomever those investors are, nobody knows. Maybe the investment never happened. However... they started taking orders in November. They probably raised $10-$15M doing THAT, and gave themselves until April to figure it out. They're TRYING to make a miner, and have six months to pull it off using the pre-order money. Maybe seven months if they announce an unexpected problem, or "yield issue" with the wafers or some other such excuse. Maybe the pull it off, maybe they don't. In the video, people swore they were looking at an S9. In the photos, people swear its an Innosilicon product. They used whatever was available to generate their buzz. Prototypes, they'll say. Keyword in SkyLakeMine's post above... "intention" -- they're scrambling to make it happen? Who knows. Yes. I think you got my general idea. We are at the end of January and production orders are supposed to be out by end of March/beginning of April at latest. 8 Weeks!!! Does someone know the lead times for these types of machines? It has to be several months or a couple quarters? We have no demo machines. No concrete specifications. Just one machine that Scott keeps under wraps. And Halong is busy making marketing announcements about their next machines that will compete with Bitmain A3? Really. WTF!!!! They should be focused like a laser beam on making mining machines and delivering them. If they were a real company they would be focused on the task at hand. They have priorities all wrong. That's why I say they are a scam. Stop the senseless marketing crap and get the job done. That's the only way they can make this right. Exactly, this is the bottom line here, they keep on announcing about their soon to launch machine but the prototypes being shown are all different. I think they are just showing what is available to assure us that something is being produced or that there is a progress.

You can join the DragonMint community channel at https://t.me/DragonMintThere are indeed meetings going in Miami between customers and MyRig and Halong staff. There was never a "demo day", this was a rumour that started because some people reported publicly they had appointments to meet and discuss their orders in Miami which happens to be around the time of the "BTC Miami" event. These are unrelated. FYI, it's not possible to have a public conference in any case, because the meeting organizers of BtcMiami bind the whole area with non-compete agreements prohibiting hotels from hosting any other Bitcoin events. I presume this is because they drive so much premium paying customers, they can muscle these terms. The Miami meetings are 15 minute slots per customer by prior arrangement, with mutual NDA in place to protect customer's interests as well as our own. If they like to say they were at the meeting, and they saw the miner, that's fine of course. This is normal. As for the miner, DragonMint 16T is a real product and is hashes at ~16TH. We deliberately chose minimal publicity because demand is too high, the last thing we need is the entire world banging at our door when we cannot meet demand. The point of publicity is to sell, and we have zero difficulty. The blake2b miner is also real, and there'll be a video of that coming soon. Surprise, we have more algos on the way too, and if you don't like that, we are sorry. Our engineering team has a lot of fun and enthusiasm for making new ASIC products. Since we have the resources, we let them play. Consider this like Google's 20% work rule where employees can spend 1 day a week working on anything they like for the company. New algos do not interfere with out flagship BTC product because resources are siloed. Halong Mining is a huge project with lots of moving parts. We have chosen our particular strategy deliberately, even though it may not appear to be traditional - we're not in a traditional space anyway. This whole magical internet money has already ballooned out of all proportions - it's literally insane - so Halong's approach is frankly tame in that backdrop. In any case, there will be no vindication until miners show up in mass starting in March. Even then, there will never be an end to criticism regardless of what we do and our long term strategy is more important. As far as we are concerned, letting conspiracies run wild will only make us look better when all of our promises turn out to be true. We wont change or be cajoled to change our strategy. Some of the conspiracies are pretty amazing, from being an overclocked Ant to a stolen miner. We might actually give a prize for the most imaginative theories after March, that could be fun. Let's be playful. Healthy scepticism is very welcomed, so keep it coming. Our goal is very simple, we're going to stimulate competition in the mining space because we believe that is the best way to support the utility of Bitcoin. It is only by maintaining and strengthening the unique properties of Bitcoin, that the utility can increase - it's the foundation. The consensus protocol relies on rational economic incentives, so, if these assumptions hold true, it will be profitable. If not, Bitcoin is a failed project anyway. For those in the community calling for the downfall of the incumbent mining manufacturer, we have a different point of view - if that happened it would be a disaster, and a failure of the core objective of our project. We believe competition through innovation - at the end of the day, we're all contributing to Bitcoin's security, and we all win when we work collaboratively. There's plenty room for everyone and let's have fun while we are at it. Bitcoin is about building a different future that includes individual financial sovereignty as a foundation. Thank you.

Uhmmm sooo...What about proof that was needed to be shown at the end of January? Nothing about it.. We need to wait for people to get miners in hand?
And why sudden increase in price? 1600 > 2400?

I read this twice. I get what you're saying. I welcome you to the community as a manufacturer. As a well-respected businessperson myself, I get some of what you're saying. I suppose my only real critique is that this space is hyper-sensitive to getting screwed. So many horror stories about people getting outright jacked for their cash... I'd have thought a new entrant into the marketplace would want (at the bare minimum) to knock down some of THOSE fears right away. I get not wanting the world to beat down your doors, but I think that'd happen no matter what considering what you've developed and how rabid the demand is for it. Keeping people calm at night, not worrying about the money they've entrusted you with for months would seem like a baseline responsibility on your part. But hey... everyone does this different. When they hit the market... I'm in.

Unless they hired a native english speaking person to post that, more bullshit; and you guys are eating it right up. American use of of "literally", English spelling of "rumour", someone with better detective skills could further break this down. What a weird time to break the silence in their "non-traditonal" marketing.
