Two questions about Blocknet :
- why it's beneficial to quark ?
- does the ITO worth it ? (it's divident ?)

I wouldn't invest.  99.9% of all the IPOs (and to be cute ICOs and now ITO) have been simple scams.  Once BLOCKNET or SUPERNET get beyond being nothing but hot air, flowcharts, whitepapers and roadmaps then take another look.

There is no benefit to Quark only bullshit.

You could be indeed right, we can always jump on it. Best is to wait and see how far it goes since most of the coin that are on it are pretty unknown

Actually, most of the coins involved have innovations such as stealthcoin and so on. That is why they have been chosen I believe. Quark also has inovation too and should be there as well I reckon.

from the thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=829576.msg9285952#msg9285952

I see a few posts that are harping on why certain coins were chosen to join Blocknet.  Some are citing small marketcap blah blah blah.

Atcsecure mentioned that the development of the technology was priority.  With this in mind, let us take a look at what each of the coins represented in the Blocknet Foundation have done…in no particular order.

SSD – First steganograpic anon transaction over mobile.  This means that you can embed a transfer of SSD into an image that you take from your mobile and not have it traced – the image doesn’t suggest that a transaction has occurred.  That is pretty freaking stout in my opinion.  Development ongoing.

XST – World’s First anonymous SMS transaction.  Again, a mobile transaction that is anonymous. Development ongoing (this is a theme with everyone here so I won't repeat it).

APEX – In wallet developments – everything from social networking to casinos.  Aggressive dev team with an eye towards enabling web merchant transactions within their wallet.

UTIL – Content filtering to protect exit nodes from malicious and illegal content.  A great business feature.

SWIFT – geoSwift, a way to GPS locate and connect sellers/buyers via mobile.

LXC – Working on BlueTooth transactions…meaning mobile transactions without internet connection.  Sidechain research and implementation planned.

FIBRE – An Aggressive dev team that has already created their own OS and have integrated FibreLock (an android style password system that renders keyloggers obsolete) into a BTC Modded wallet in addition to their own.

NHZ – Asset Exchange and further expansion of NXT code.

XC – Working on some cool stuff with a dev who has proven himself through a mountain of accusations.  Not sure I need to list the features and development here.

The best part of my summaries are this – it’s not comprehensive!!!  It’s a miniscule aspect of what each coin has to offer and not a complete picture of what each respective coins developers are capable of.  My point was to make an attempt to list a unique feature of each coin to demonstrate the very broad based level of expertise represented here.  There are many talented devs here with many ‘firsts’ represented.  All of them together can combine into a seamless user experience that can’t be claimed ANYWHERE.  All of these features together create a potential user experience that is unrivaled and will be for some time.

The marketcap of each coin, at this time, is irrelevant to me. That is not what defines their worth. The devs are pretty stout and it is the technology that is being developed that is the main issue and what will drive their relevance.

None of the posts that I see are even focusing on what the development teams are doing.  That needs to be corrected.

In fact, Blocknet has a group of talented people who will collaborate on making something that is something that Crypto has never seen before.  And I think that is something that isn't being done elsewhere.

I think contrary of you. Smiley

Coins involved in BlockNet have cool features. I don't think that features are needed for being money. Money does not need to be cool. Smiley

And I think coin market capitalization is very important. Because coins are not money. Smiley Still.

I do agree with the point that being part of the blocknet will give quark some exposure which it doesn't have and expand it's community? Since quark as of right now has no active dev team, it's just max and he only maintains the code nothing more. I think quark has nothing to lose anyway.

As I remember, Max said he might implement new ideas to the wallet if somebody has good ideas and good piece of code.

That's the thing i don't think there is someone with new ideas and a code, there is only max. Also other coins on features wise are ahead, so quark needs to come up with something new and rather not be a follower since if won't have much effect when other coins already have it. So maybe joining forces and join block net will be a good idea?

It might be, at least for marketing Smiley

But most important thing is the use value - using quark as money in real economy.

This is true. Quark is just sitting around getting left behind IMO.  If it does not get teamed with BLOCKNET I am going to sell. I have a fair amount of quark and don't really want to sell but right now its stagnating. Who would be the person to add it to BLOCKNET?

Some ideas to implement in wallet:

-block explorer
-list of shops
-chat??? i am suspicious about it cause of potentially security issues
-exchanges data and analysis
...

Some of other coins already have this.

Not many shops accept Quark, but being part of the blocknet doesn't hinder Quark in using it as money though. Quark can benefit from block nets features too. If blocknet is succefull then great if it's not then quark will stay quark as it is.

The only incentive to use Quark (and thats a big one that sets Quark apart from all other coins) is ShaqFu, this project can make Quark huge if promoted correctly aswell. Until then i don't see other projects, cool features added by a 'quark dev team' so to speak. ShaqFu is also the main reason i'm holding, but it's coming late 2015 and thats so long, so in the meanwhile we can benefit from blocknet.

Funny that you talk like you know anything yet your first post was yesterday and your first post was pushing a new scam.  You are A SOCKPUPPET whos only purpose is to push Blocknet.  Anyone listening to this person is a fool biting on a fishing hook.

Can you tell the disadvantage of quark being part of blocknet? Do you have other suggestions for quark developments then instead of just doing nothing?

I agree that Quark if added to the blocknet could gain some much needed exposure. That is fantastic, so i think we can all agree on that.

Now can we get in contact with them and potentially find out what negative effecfs (if any) this could have on Quark..

Personally i think we should go for this!

If nothing comes of it or if we are added and it fails then we are in the same place now as we were before.

Now can we get in contact with them and potentially find out what negative effecfs (if any) this could have on Quark..

Personally i think we should go for this!

If nothing comes of it or if we are added and it fails then we are in the same place now as we were before.

+1

I sent the person that goes about it pm, waiting for an answer.

Great!
I'm eager to hear back about this.

BlockNet Is Like The Mega Man of Altcoins

You know who Mega Man is, don't you? The Blue Bomber has been gracing gaming consoles for decades. If you don't know, Mega Man's “hook” or claim to fame, other than its hardcore and tight sidescrolling action, was that after each of the game's eight bosses, Mega Man would absorb a special power from the boss that he could then use for the rest of the game.

BlockNet is a bit like that, but with cryptocurrencies. Every time a coin joins BlockNet, every other coin in the network can use its features. Ideally, this means that the isolated laboratories that altcoins currently serve as, can now become a unified testing ground.

Started by XCurrency's Dan Metclaf but run by all participating currencies, the network currently has nine alternate digital currencies under its umbrella with the ability to add more at any time. Like Mega Man, once a currency is added, the entire network (and every currency in it) will be able to take advantage of the new currency's features.

The current coins on the network include: XCurrency, Fibre, NeXT Horizons, Sonic, Apex, Utility Coin, BitSwift, LibrexCoin and StealthCoin.

Adding a coin is as simple as getting approval from the BlockNet Foundation and adding BlockNet's API to the coin's base wallet.

This presents several interesting possibilities. One could issue an asset on the NeXT Horizon Asset Exchange and have its dividends pay out in any other Blocknet currency. Those assets could be sent using XCurrency's or StealthCoin's or Sonic's privacy features.

There are countless more combinations of coin features that could be used. But another interesting side effect of this is that any coin could be withdrawn from an ATM that supports any of these currencies.

In the current altcoin climate, it isn't easy to stand out and it isn't easy to make the public aware of your coin's new features (hence, the reason for the Alt-Cracks column). The BlockNet not only allows coins to take advantage of other coins features, it also makes it extremely easy to test said features. Currently, if I want to test Utility Coin's upcoming dynamic VPN feature, I have to set aside some BTC, put it into an exchange, buy some Utility Coin, move it to a desktop wallet with Utility Coin's blockchain downloaded and then test the feature.

The combining of multiple coins isn't a new concept. One of jl777's many NXT related projects is SuperNET, which is designed to give participating coins all the features of NXT. There are a few key differences between the services. While BlockNet does utilize NeXT Horizon's asset exchange and XCurrency's XBridge, it does not require centralization of 10 % of the participating currencies like that system, Xbridge is a true P2P system rather than a RPC call protocol and there is no central or core currency that has to be used.

It is has long been proposed that altcoins act as sort of a testing ground for Bitcoin itself. A place where new features could be added without having to make the entire Bitcoin ecosystem adopt the changes. This allows testing to actually happen outside of isolated altcoin communities. If a BTC enabled wallet is released, something I'm told won't be difficult, then suddenly one community's feature becomes the entire crypto community's feature.

The ITO (initial token offering) will be live on various exchanges, including Bittrex, Bter, Polonix and CoinExchange. Each token is being sold for 0.00025 BTC and there will be 10 million tokens created for a total of 2,500 BTC.

At first glance, 2,500 BTC seems like a lot, but it is important to note that is a maximum amount, not a minimum. The ITO will run for a week and then any remaining coins will be burned. It should also be noted that the amount is also less than the initial offering of similar technologies. Owners of the BlockNet coin will get voting privileges and dividends raised from the small fee created with each cross currency transaction.

The ITO begins on October 29th and, as mentioned, will run for a week. Investors buying tokens with a participating currency will get 10 % off.
