Bitcoin loses its leading position. This is evident from the level of capitalization of the leading coins and their rate. I think this will not happen soon. But it's a matter of time

It is on it´s way. The ecosystem is much stronger and agile than the Bitcoin one. It think that either Ether or NEO are the next bitcoins out there.

I think it will overtake. With a fast speed. And this is not only my opinion, just of many experts. Even judging by the dynamics of growth. And advertising crazy.
It's possible because I believe that Ethereum is really the best , developers are active and their transaction fees is really small compare to bitcoin which is really big different. |

2018 will be a decisive year for both projects.
BTC will have to prove it can sustain the position as flagship of the crypto world but ETH also has prove itself as the best altcoin around.
Last year was remarkable in sense that all mainstream media gave crypto big headlines during the BTC pump.
Let's hope this year will follow the same path and both BTC and ETH will thrive in an healthy competition.

Ethereum cant overtake btc never, even Ethereum is measure by bitcoin so how it can be this. Its not emotional but I think BTC will be always on top of cryptocurrency.

We don't know about that. It all depends on the investors. Market shows that BTC is up and rising again. We wont know if it would go down again or rise up even more. |

I think Ethereum has a new competitor to compete the best altcoin on cryptocurrency world. Ripple was used in many applications and it also proved it is stronger than other cryptocurrencies and not worse than Ethereum recently. What do you think about Ripple? I think it is also one of potential projects can grow more in the future. |

I don't think so, maybe there's a possibilities that ETH could overtake BTC but we can't predict if this is the year. Maybe 5 yrs from now? ETH will dominate bitcoin. |

Nothing impossible. Bitcoin and Ethereum differ in purpose. Bitcoin is created as an alternative to regular money and is thus a medium of payment transaction and store of value, Ethereum is developed as a platform which facilitates peer-to-peer contracts and applications via its own currency. There's a competition between Bitcoin and Ethereum, so no one knows what will happen exactly this year! |

This is possible but i don't know when it is happen. It is really that the ethereum will overcome the bitcoin.as far as i know, the ethereum have more projects compare the bitcoin.also, the price of ethereum are enough to make investment unlike the bitcoin because it is very expensive an it is more stable than the bitcoin |

This two is different but it seems Ethereum has many good projects. There are many tokens under its name. I like bitcoin, its the de facto pairing in exchanges and it has many adoption already. In terms of supply, Ethereum is more than 5x more than the bitcoin and when Ethereum increased value, its possible to overtake bitcoin. But still we did not know, but whatever happens I have Ethereum too.  |

I disagree with it, which I know through all altcoin values go up yet no one is able to beat the bitcoin. Although the value of bitcoin has decreased, not until the price is too dropping. As we know the level of business confidence in bitcoin is very high. So for Etherum overtaking bitcoin, it's questionable.

I think it has a chance that ethereum will surpass bitcoin but I think it will take a long time. Because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and people started using it before other coins came in, so it can be said bitcoin has become the heart of other digital money. I think this year are this is not gonna happen
