The fact that they put the site offline is prove that they do care about security. If there is something wrong it provides that further fraud is stoped. But they do need to give us more information. A simple twitter post is not enough.

I hope ur right man, im just freakin out, i have al ot invested and i actually liked this site... hope its not a farce... and FUCK YOU MOD freedom of speech will REIGN!!!

The site actually ran really well. Coinex to me seemed well designed from a user point of view at least. It's all very disappointing. Sick of feeling like I shouldn't trust anyone.  Sad

I already made a post on twitter. Captainfuture told me yesterday that he has no access either and is waiting to get news from the Sysop. So, even staff members don't have any idea. Maybe he knows what is going on by now? A simple statement about whats going on would help...

Just relax. I highly doubt anyone is getting screwed here, W/Ds worked fine yesterday morning (i pulled .5btc @ 9am est), so the fact that they started to show "unknown address" errors at least shows you aren't being had by the owners. Most likely a w/d issues was spotted that allowed double spends/multiple concurrent process of the same transaction, etc. That or someone switched the outbound address for all the coins lol.

But lesson be learned, eat the transaction fees, not worth it to hold any amount of btc in an exchange. Throw that shit in a truly secure wallet.

Prove it to me, for now i have the right to be skeptical... though coinex has gone down for days before...... all my shit better be there is all im saying... and now I don't even have faith in this site, nor does anybody.  It's not a great way to run an exchange, security should be #1, that is the whole fucking point of charging fees.

Never said you couldnt be skeptical, you have all the right to be. I am merely saying that a call to arms isn't necessary.

Thanks for the "unofficial" follow-up Smiley

Thankfully I scraped everything back from CoinEx last week (dumped alts->BTC and transferred to my wallet, including tons of ContinuumCoins that was laying there) Roll Eyes

Moral to the story, don't keep anything hot on an exchange, pool, etc.

"Problem" is, if you don't keep coins in an exchange, you cannot react fast enough on changes of prices. Most of the time, when you have to transfer in first, if something is going on, you're too late.

Hopefully they really only have a minor problem, like it occured before. Being "beta", they were off before for some days on a "regular basis" without propagating it widely and got up and running afterwards again. Until now captainfuture seemed to be trustworthy.

the point is to not hold any substantial amount of coins in any exchange. Move it there when you want to trade, eat the tx fees, and move it back out. The amount of people who just let btc sit in an exchange is obscene.

Could talk about hind sight all you want... i was weary about the security of this site, i should have known better I guess... I also know the Illuminati or w/e you want to call them is cracking down on crypto, that is why its been so shitty lately for every market.

im also a noob tho, i was weary to trade on crypsty, who is to say that site isnt next? I was makin money on coinex, but i guess it was all for nothing, and to think I put my hard earned dollar into it.   I guess that is the scam to all these cryptocurrencies... bunch of shadesters going to try to cash out before it is legitimized by the public.  It is up to people to make it legitmate, and stop scamming fuckers like MtGox, and whatever else will happen, while keeping the internet up and making the world free of government manipulators and big corporations like monsanto destroying the world.  Need BTC to be legitmized by making real products for real things, not having it be a backstabbing war to think you will be rich someday... what is money or being rich worth if you have nobody to share it with or no worth to your currency because there is nothing of value in the world?

I realized for certain something was wrong yesterday, and got quite a bit out, but have near to a BTC left.

Funny thing, though, I first began to suspect there was an issue when I transferred WDC there on Friday. It never arrived, and no response was made to my tickets. Then the Troll Box was making all sorts of wild speculation. Last night I started emptying what I had there.

The last bit left was on one of those fcuking orders that refused to be cancelled.

Anyway, I notice today that my WDC transfer has still not been redeemed.

If it is a scam, then you would think all transfers in would be claimed.

Hopefully we hear something soon .....

Captain, if you're out there, let me know my WDC private key so I can divert the coins to me! :-)

I want to believe that people are decent. I like a few hours before the site turned off by my standards quite a large sum of 1.4 BTC, is 2 months Mining and trading. Me a few days to pay the loan, and then this happens ... I would like to hear a comment admin...
