so I checked my transaction of pending WDC, it is still not redeemed, http://wdc.cryptocoinexplorer.com/tx/0657f10a30b94a9b80b0a55c2b1505506a351833e57935f7bef6b8821f4a7e0d

coinex was down for about 2 weeks while updating, far more coins were at balance & everything was fine, even all mined were added to account balance. waiting 4 update...

Did the last time creator of coinex, deleted his twitter and github accounts?!

I have a very bad feeling about this. I don't think we would get our coins back.

What were his (well erundook and capitanfuture) twitter and github account?

Am I the first to notice the nick - E RUN DO OK - as in RUN (and) DO OK.

There were clear issues in the last week just from the high mount of the trollbox... too many people turning up saying they've lost coins.
If they come back online again with no losses I'll eat my hat ... sorry guys but start chalking up another loss.

Anybody noticed this?

Erundook is a hacker, so we all trusted our money in the hands of a hacker?

This sucks, even though I only managed to lose 25k DOGE, got the rest out just before it went.

I really hope CoinEx does not fuk us over like others .. have to say it is quite tempting to just cut an run from these exchanges. Almost no repercussion, except if some dodgy BTC millionaire hires an assassin.

Coinmarket Cat prowls once again.

I expect them to come back, I have over 10 BTC worth in there.

If they come, that is great, we keep going along the way. If they don't, then some of us already know who they are, we can do what is required. With the rest of my money, I will run after them and do whatever is necessary... Even if it goes to finding them myself... Angry Angry Angry

The blog report http://ilikekillnerds.com/2014/03/looks-like-coinex-pw-might-have-been-hacked/ shows this Erundook character living in Moscow. Are you saying you and others know of him..?

People are really angry about this. And I think it's not just about losing their own cash. It's about another selfish knob giving ammunition to the media and authorities that Cryptos = criminal.

That said if CoinEx doesn't come back up then feel free to feed this guy to a Russian Gimp..

Hi all.

I just registered just so I could post this as it really concerns me!

I deposited a very small amount of LTC (0.000079) to CoinEx on 15th March.

My CoinEx LTC deposit address is/was Lh7AvxK54BkVf9iAq953qSLzXwMAKzHmbP
I left the LTC in my balance as I wanted to use it for future trades with the rest of my LTC I have/had on CoinEx.

So I just saw this:

https://i.imgur.com/2xtR02j.png

Notice how 11 hours ago (long after the site went down) the LTC was transferred away.

So I did some more basic digging and followed the transactions and found this which is more worrying!:

https://i.imgur.com/xUiQuvh.png

Just over 20 LTC sent from 5 addresses to 2 other addresses. Based on the fact my deposit address is one of the 5, the other 4 are probably all deposit addresses too.

They are either moving everybody over to a more secure system which required new addresses or we're being screwed over.

As long as there is no public statement from the coinex staff we are only guessing. Maybe we should wait what is going to happen in a few weeks. I don't think that trying to chase transactions or people will help, you only have more questions and no answers at hand.

Well I think I've gone a little further than guessing.

I have proven that LTC that I deposited to CoinEx has been moved to another address along with another 20 LTC.
This happened AFTER CoinEx became unavailable so only CoinEx staff (or hacker which I feel is unlikely) could have moved it.

It would take 30 seconds to just put something on Twitter along the lines of "CoinEx will be back, improving security". Or even just "We're still here" would be enough for most.

Wow, that sucks.
Thankfully i have moved all my money about 2 month ago from this site.

That proves nothing. There could be many reasons to move coins internal (I've just learned that this is happening often on exchanges), you already named one possible reason. So, they could be gone with all our money or we just worrying more than we have to. If they are gone we can practically do nothing about it, if they are still there and working we can complain about the lack of information provided to the community. In both cases our hands are tied.

Did you noticed something? Everytime someone is complaining in the public about an exchange nothing happens. Nothing. Except people who spread words of wisdom like: "Don't leave your money on an exchange."

Thank you very much good Sir, but I was about to transfer my money in when they closed down.

So, there are exactly zero fucks given. In fact if they return on the market people will trade there again.

You're absolutely right, I am merely highlighting what I can see to ensure transparency - something CoinEX have failed to do themselves.
I never said categorically that they are stealing coins, just pointing out the movement.

I don't care for peoples comments along the lines of "That's what you get for using exchanges blah blah blah".

We need to exchanges to be able to trade, there will always be risks with money as some peoples greed is fuelled by the need for money.
Digital currency is just that, a currency and as such it has monetary value.

Realistically there is nothing stopping your banks CEO withdrawing all of their customers money and fleeing to a country with no extradition threaty.
It's just part of the trust you have.

My main issue is the lack of communication and if CoinEX came back online and everything was fine then yes, I would continue to trade their as they would of earnt my trust - they would of had a golden opportunity to run with the money and they didn't.

However, at this stage like you, me and plenty of others have said, it's still impossible to know really what they're doing.

I'm looking for any responce from erundook and captainfuture.
I was in staff of freshmarket, and when we failed - we gave all info community asap.
So i'm suspecting that it's not real hack but kinda scam.

Also, anyone living in moscow - you can cooperate and find that guy.

You know I wrote some code to do some very simple automated equity trading using Interactive Brokers APIs a while back and if you want to see how real, professional brokerages work just observe them.  Once I had an issue where I couldn't execute a trade because their interface wasn't functioning as it should and I was out of communication for about 10 minutes. I had an open position and needed to close it ASAP before the end of trading. I managed to get the order submitted and afterward there was a well documented explanation put out for everyone explaining what had happened, what caused it and what the remediation plan and timeline was to fully resolve it so it wouldn't happen again.

I had another instance where the market data was slow, it was taking an extra 10-15 seconds to get trade data.  I called a CSR, they tracked my account and found a problem with a  server farm, switched things over and things were right again.

What I'm saying is, what we're seeing with Coinex and CoinMarket would NEVER happen with them!!!  Why should we put up with this kind of service and behavior here?

If we want to be taken seriously, we can't come off as hackers and thieves and that is exactly how this looks!!! And in the end that's exactly what it may turn out to be, but for me anyone who defends this behavior and expects us to wait longer before taking some sort of action makes themselves suspect!

One final note... I would strongly suggest people stop talking about retributions that are highly illegal in any country. Conspiracy to commit murder is a serious crime in itself and even suggesting it could make you a part of an investigation, so please we need to find peaceful and appropriate way to handle this.  All I want is my money back and those responsible for stealing it to be served appropriate justice in a court of law.

Respectfully,
Gary Birch

Now that makes me smile Smiley If this guy is sitting somewhere in Russia he has a pretty good chance to get away with it. Where do you live, Europe, US? Do you think your local police department will motivate Russian law enforcement to act immediately?  Wink

I will wait and see what is going to happen and I don't think that this thread is useful to anybody. No information provided and no real solution at hand.

I'm out.
