Please stop posting FUD about CoinEx, we will issue an announcement within next 24hrs about how we are going to handle the situation.

Long story short: yes, our wallet server got hacked and all funds were withdrawn.

Please read back to the beginning of this thread, we had such a problem before and *returned all the stolen funds from our own pockets*. Before this hack happened, we also had several attacks that lost funds and we silently covered those from our fees.

For those who was stalking me at internets: thats true, i was trying to hide/delete my accounts. At the very first moment i saw zero balance at our bitcoin wallet i knew this was coming. And it scared the shit out of me. Hope you can understand that.
About me selling bitcoins at localbitcoins.com: thats true too. I have 33mh/s scrypt gpu mining farm, I have >50% of coinex fees + I get % from cryptostocks share sells. Nothing criminal here again.

So again, please calm down. We are not doing a runner.

The only way i can see to restore this is to sell more shares at cryptostocks to cover the losses *and to hire a professional security audit team to prevent this from happening again*.
Long story short, we're covering this from our own pockets again.

Thanks
- erundook

Thanks for the update.  I was already thinking my coins are gone. This update is much more informative than the first one.

Change your passwords if you use it for anything else than coinex. Hackers will scavenge all exchanges to try their luck.

CRAZY- FUCKING CRAZY - how can that happen - are any exchanges truly using cold wallets at all?!?!

I can't believe any exchange can refund a full loss of all coins from its own pocket, maybe a partial loss but a full one??

At least he isn't hiding like M.K.

Truth is the new hatespeech.

Great to see an update. Thanks!

I have one question though, will my 1.2 BTC of various coins still be there as various coins or as one balance of 1.8 BTC?

Thanks a lot for the update.
It would be good to know if other coins got stolen as well.
I have had quite a lot in many different coins, mainly CTM and ZEIT.
The idea with shares is quite good, I think.

Cheers,
uki

How much exactly is the exchange down?

Put a figure out there, then we can work out whether it is feasible for you to cover the losses.

Actually,if you get the exchange back online, I'd get rid of the low volume shit which Cryptsy and BTC-e have cornered the market in (e.g. PPC, NVC, GLD).

It was a good exchange, but pointless coins clogged it up a bit.

Again, how much are you down?

The more I think about it the more it look that instead of trying to sell shares you should offer them as compensation. It will be fair deal for both parties if site is going to stay.

dude, Coinex, erundick, whatever your name is...you're a fuckin asshole.  people were pleading with you for over 24 hours to just say ANYTHING about the situation and you refused.  what do you really have to gain from not sending a single tweet a few hours after the original to say that you're still dealing with the problems or whatever.

i have no faith in you whatsoever, and am happy that I have a policy of never keeping money on any exchange unless I'm in the middle of a buy (which I was).  I'm counting this as a loss and a great reminder that people who run crypto exchanges and raise funds with "crypto stocks" are some of the sketchiest people on the planet.

anyone who puts any trust in this guy or "donates" to him is a damn fool.

And with that you just forfeited any balance you had with them.

I've worked with several exchanges handling these situations and sadly it happens, one slight oversight overlooked can lead to some random kiddie running off with bitcoins. It happens. exchanges are runs by humans. And in all reality at the end of the day there is no security. The best you can do is be pro-active about your security and prepare for the next one.

I'll msg you shortly admin see if I can help out.

ACTUALLY call me an asshole but if the hacker didn't get the ctm coins and they truly got lost doesn't that  mean that the volume is lowered making ctm possibly more valuable.

Just a thought but could be the must stupidest.

I'm just saying billions of ctm could have been lost making it more valuable. I made the mistake of making a ctm pool and know I dont know how I am going to pay for the vps.
