O.k but did anyone notice its doubling taking the shares its getting? I hope they've also got a good hub with power to test on since thats what I heard buffering could be from.
I think that was posted to say it works but we still have bugs to kill.

Thats damn nice even with those doubles Ohhh darn the long waits to get our hands on these You mentioned the thumbdrives did you build a test board as well Or is it just the thumbs at this point.

Hey hey. So yes, still some bugs to to sort out but we're damn close. Striving to sort out those duplicates now. The 8 board is getting there too, also still needs more tweaking, but its happening. Someone mentioned chips, yes we have one batch and the other is due to arrive tomorrow. As for Cgminer. We will be having our revisions rolled into an official update of Cgminer, so the 'latest version' by the time you get your hands on these will just work straight out of the box. So close. Barntech

Y'all! Awesome to wake up to these updates this morning. We are clearly at the business end of the proceedings! I realise no details are set until they're officially announced, but some hints do point to the possibility of the board being clocked a bit lower than the thumb and with possibly less headroom / tweakability. It's almost a given that it would present greater technical challenges to design and implement stuff at the 8-chip-board level. (also referencing quote from the original announcement: "The core adjust feature is prototype development, it will likely be a production feature but may delete it if it turns out to be necessary.") Which would be fine with me, as it simply implies the board would have better power efficiency. Though it'd be nice to get to at least 2.0Ghps each for the chips on the boards if possible. (also referencing quote from the original announcement: "The sweetspot for efficiency of W/Gh is more somewhere around 2 GH/s. We will have more info on this once we get more testing done.") I certainly plan to add my own cooling to the boards - heatsinks and airflow - once I have a firm grasp on what will be optimal, the clearance dimensions between boards in the miniplane etc. That info's probably already around somewhere. ("ON THE OTHER FORUM", shouts Erk). Yes yes

Speaking of cool. This! Wow! Congrats! Must feel good, does for me. Was out all day and I come home to this! I take it it is a thumb drive? How did you get it to 2.7Ghash/s? If you can get the 8 chip boards doing that (I know, much more complicated). Good job and keep it up. IAS

2.7 GH is great if they're using default setting. I just wish bitcoin prices didn't keep going so high right now(I'm hoping its a Dwolla drop off occurring to get so high). It makes it hard to dream about buying more of these. Maybe batch "?" will support bitpay for some better evening out of prices. I got a blog email from coinbase this morning and they're doing billing forms now for purchases. Fun stuff

Excited to see the progress, thanks Jesse! I'm still elated that I'll be the first to ship. Although I'm sure a bunch will ship together, I hope mine comes wrapped in a pretty pink bow since I'm your first investor. What are the general steps remaining to get through production up to shipping?

Yes, it will be with cgminer or bfgminer. I plan on using minepeon myself.

With the latest cgminer it should be fine. However I would recommend a dedicated PI. Minepeon has been having some difficulties with CGminer and some hardware (this may or may not be sorted before drillbit becomes available) and is therefore running BFGminer by default (can be switched back to CG). Also I think overclocking maybe easier with a dedicated pi. So from a hassle point of view just buy an extra PI. Maybe Kano can throw some more light on the subject, I miss CGminer but its unstable for me on my setup at his time.

Kano said not to use rasberian and a page or 2 back "Kano" gave instruction here or on cgminer page. how to use a different pi OS. I still did the dumb thing and installed raspberrian anyway and have a record of 1minute and about a half till it stopped working.
good thing I bookmarked in case I decided to follow instructions.

That's strange. I'm running rasbian (from noobs install i downloaded about 3 weeks ago) and cgminer 3.6.3 It's running my USB block erupters without any issues. (just follow the asic readme and go from there)

Thanks

A small point, but I hope drillbit sends kano a device to say thanks for all the work he put into writing/supporting cgminer, hardware donations keep the show on the road.

What are the general steps remaining to get through production up to shipping? Very excited to put your package in the mail lazj99! That day will be quite a milestone. I'll see what i can do about a pretty pink bow and perhaps another special surprise for you. General step from here is complete the testing on the 8 chip board to make sure its ok. It almost definitely is, but we want to be 100% before we go making 100s of them. The thumb is already verified and ready to go. From there its manufacturing the PCBs, assembling them, and shipping out.

If ones ready before the other do we get an email to separate. I want something new to watch blink regardless if its the big board I primarily want to see in action , so I can pull these darn eroupters and make some space for more of your equipment.

I'm a little unsure I have the price and shipping calculated correctly. If I place my order first, can you send me a total to pay in BTC?
Thanks,
