At least from me, all boards will then be tested again (Not sure how long... suggestions?)

I think a fairly short period of testing for each piece of equipment should be enough. You can weed out the extremely unlikely DOAs that made it past the fab's QC that way, and any absurd error rates/slow hash speed/other problems can be discovered by the end users and exchanges can be worked out between the unfortunate party and Barntech rather than you and Barntech.

Much as I enjoy getting extensively tested, guaranteed to be good equipment, it doesn't make a lot of sense to delay everyone for the sake of catching a few possible problems.

Did I help you out, or otherwise say something useful? A handful of satoshis are a great way to say thanks! - Address: 18JUKdmE1Satf8HJUU3pf7iu5ymQX8AzER

Im ok with testing every piece of equipment for a short period of time if people are ok knowing its not "brand new" so to speak.

This is part of the reason I recommended just a good test on a random-ish sampling of say 1/10th of all the boards.  Most remain factory new, the ones tested are assured quality and a couple of RMA's/DOA's can happen pre-customer.  It also gives a warm fuzzy to you (bobsag) and barntech what a potential failure rate to expect is.

I think testing every board for a short period of time is the way to go.

I am fine with you testing mine before shipping since I am in the US. Could you give us a shipping order since you are just shipping US orders?

Good news this time! Today i shipped out the first thumbs. Grin The rest will be shipped tomorrow. I'll send out tracking numbers as soon as i have them.

It feels damn good to get these things out there! They work. They work well. Some are hashing comfortably above 3 GH/s !

Thank you all for your patience (those that HAVE been patient Wink ) Feels pretty great to get to this milestone.

On other good news, our new parts are with the factory and the other boards should be done tomorrow.  Smiley I might even get some sleep one day soon.  Shocked

And now.... Thumb porn!

Ready for launch! Enjoy.  Grin Grin

Congrats Barn', it seems this is home strech before mining with this!

So you confirm all the fab (8-chips boards) would be done this week? Can you state whether you ship everything from China directly to us or via AUS (except for US)? If direct from China, are theses boards tested before shipping?

Then about software, can you give details how to handle (make run) Drillbit? According to me there's not yet support from CGMiner nor BFGMiner. For now, we only know that CGminer modified was used during development.
Have you sent also some tips (software, config, tools,..) with the first Drillbit thumb?

I cant answer on the software but I can on the shipping. Looks like the boards should be done here within 48 hours, and then will be dispatched after a small amount of testing to AUS, and me in the US. At least from me, all boards will then be tested again (Not sure how long... suggestions?) and then immediatly shipped out same day via UPS Next Day/2nd Day air [depending on location]. As soon as we know the boards are done, we can give  concrete delivery.

IMO,just an hour or two of testing should show any faults  Wink

Looking forward to getting my tracking #  Grin

I hope BFGminer is ready,I'm a little tired of CGminer,no offence but it can be a challenge...............

Congrats on the Thumbs shipping Barntech  Wink

I hope I get a tacking number soon. I hope if you got your thumb miner that fast I'll have a better experience from shipping from wherever as well.

I wonder how board testing is going.

\e looks at his eroupters trying decide which one's to die. [dam... they can read my mind and are pretending they are at the doctors office and running smoothly]

Oh sorry, how selfish of me not to post cgminer pr0n.
I've been fiddling with the clock. Still tinkering

I can get it up to almost 3Gh/s without error when cooled by a fan - though it fluctuates a fair bit 2.7~3
I don't really want to push too hard because I plan on sticking to passive cooling and don't want it to explode Smiley
Seem to get a stable 2.6~2.7 without a fan.

Pushing it...

Hmm... is the "Got spurious work results for idle ASIC 0" anything to be concerned about?

As for me, I prefer to get tested boards, since it will be pain in the ass to send them back - at least it mean fight with custom`s officers (try to explain them what is this, he-he). So, it is ok for me to wait 1-2 days more and get tested boards rather to send at least one of it back.

Nah that only happens when you restart cgminer

Here's a new screenshot now that it's run overnight, passive cooling. (very low error rate as you can see)
