if you are about to use that pool, use mine_slush, cause it is using some obscure reward calculations

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

btw..some silly question..

I really like Ozco and would like to mine there when currently no other pool is good for mining..

Can I setup Ozco 2 times? One time as mine_charity and one time as backup? Is this supported??

I know you you can set a pool up multiple times, as for mine_charity + backup not sure on that combo

From what I can tell, any of the slicers reduce variance at the cost of payout. I'll try to write a sim mimicking it if someone can post a non code algo for me to translate.

I'm sticking with oldDefaultScheduler - I get around 250% on average with that which is about the max efficiency for 10 pools, normally scheduled. Perfect.

this is pretty interesting imo, would love to see the sim on this

Once I get enough coffee in me, i am gonna start analyzing your other charts as well

planning on doing an intro to hopping series there using byteHopper to illustrate points. I should have a spare invite by that point.

if you look@bitcoin.cz/stats/
you will see that there are very short rounds e.g.

2011-08-08 10:52:22    0:00:46    17295    none
2011-08-08 10:54:07    0:01:45    44326    none

is there any chance to jump in with mine_slush or is this for the reason that it is too long to recognice a new block impossible?

I have one share, using mine with penalty 4, probably api data was updated late

even if you mined there 24/7, that short rounds are easy to be missed

we have a wiki it's on the git and has basic scheduler info.. could use cleaning up.

cool charts.. i will have to check them out.

if you have problems the first thing to do is check to see if you have the latest. which right now is c00w-bitHopper-v0.1.3-19-g52db110
second thing to do is to use the search function and see if others are having it.

everyone is getting the ati spam thing

c00w wants a debug output...run with --debug and wait for crash
until then the most stable version for me is c00w-bitHopper-v0.1.2-28-g91a6645

if you are about to use that pool, use mine_slush, cause it is using some obscure reward calculations
No, I only mean that there exists a much easier way.

pool stats show no shares for the big block.. i dont trust them yet. irc.. ok you got me there..

c0000000000ww

same thing happened on the newest version or c00w-bitHopper-v0.1.3-19-g52db110...the disconnect and too many args thing.. had  a nice debug
output for ya on my clipboard but then decided to copy your file name so you would know i was on the latest.

anyways is there a way to output debug to file?

crap I will redo it in the more when i can watch

+1 is there a way to log console in a file,  "python bitHopper.py > error.log" doesn't work for me, we seem to miss the error that could help track this one because it spits messages real fast and the important stuff it's long gone when you stop and copy from the console

Apparently bithasher gives a pretty good payout.
out of 15 active mining pools, only few of them are very profitable.

My bithopper haven't hopped that much lately, only hopping to 3-4 pools. never hopped to slush for some reason.
