LOL sorry my bad.   Wink

Hey, I'm not new Tongue I've been on Team Gridcoin for a few weeks, and been mining it since it was 42 days old Cheesy

Hey Inrideo and all the new guys. When you run Boinc make sure to join Team Gridcoin @ WCG.
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=BBNGDQS832

You can add it directly from Boinc. So far we are in place #4,474 in points generated. When the team was started it was in 16000th place, so we have moved up quite a bit.

My 290X is arriving in an hour or so, so I'll be happy to take advantage of the difficulty while it's low Cheesy

Boo. The parcel missed the truck and now I have to wait until monday.
Is anyone else mining gridcoins with a 290X? How are you doing?

With my nvidia 650 Ti Boost I've only managed 2000 coins in two months.

My buddy is getting 850 KH/s with it on feathercoin, which is adding up nicely for him.

How much does the GPU rate affect your gridcoin income? I basically just get the trickle from the client. I think I've only found two real blocks in all this time. There was that day where I found 7000 coins but that was a fork, darnit.

On 850kh/s you should be getting quite a few blocks per day.

Can't wait to see scrypt-sleep in action where half the time our GPU's will be BOINCing - THEN we'll see those stats take off Smiley

The Gridcoin team is also climbing rapidly in the BOINC stats (separate from the WCG stats): http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/detail/118094994

Lots of links to click on there if you're into stats.

There's even a little summary you could use in a sig or on your own site if you wanted: http://boincstats.com/signature/-1/team/118094994/sig.png

I did not even think about that. If the Gpu rigs actually go to work while the sleep is on then that will give some major power to science crunching. Should be interesting to see how it works out.

Weird. I don't see myself there. But I definitely joined. I had to leave Ripple to do it.

Ok, I don't get it. Any whitepaper on BOINC mining? How can I verify that somebody who generated block really had his power utilized by BOINC?
Check out the cobblestones per official boinc project and how they generate avg_daily_credits.
We compile the verifiable 3rd party credits (checked through one of the 60 project apis) into the boinchash into the chain.

Rob - If I were to drop all of my BOINC projects except for the ones listed in the Gridcoin projects console, would there be any benefit to that...?
Hi - Im on the road for the next 10 days, so Im a little detached, will still have releases.

I don't think there would be a benefit; the gpu side interfaces directly to boinc and the local Host to add avg_daily_credits while the 5 cpu projects work independently; forcing 3rd party gpus to verify the credits by username (a different approach; not because it is better but because we coded it a few months back so lets test it and compare it to our gpu method, and keep the best algo); anyway financially you can think of them as two separate systems.

That's cool with me, I like both systems and hope we will be able to use both  Smiley

On the cryptocointalk thread it was stated that you'd have to pick one or the other.

Is it normal that on the previous version of Gridcoin I was getting 4,000+ BOINC average daily credits but with the new version I am only getting about ~2,500 BOINC average daily credits...? Is there any way to increase this number...?

***EDIT***
Upon further inspection it seems my average daily credits has been decreased by the fact that I am signed up to pretty much every project on BOINC and my computer has recently been working on projects which simply do not reward as many credits as other projects...

What do the boinc average daily credits do?

Once scrypt_sleep is enabled, the average daily credits will determine the chance of your being able to hash the next block on the network, higher credits means a higher chance.

Strange, this link shows my Credits/day to be 5,625 and my average credits to be 3,925 but my gridcoin client only reports ~2,500 average credits...
