Using a backup should work. Try reinstalling Gridcoin in new folder and use your backup and rebuild the chain from the start.

Today i got "wallet.dat corrupted. Salvage failed" error. It's happened after i rebooted PC and Windows 7 scanned HD for errors. It's ~ 2500 GRC on it plus not payed yet pool mining rewards for 5 days. I tried to run gridcoin.exe -rescan - gettin new 0.00 GRC wallet. Tried to restore from backups (from 30.01 and 06.01) i got or same error. Also tried to --dumpwallet with pywallet.py, but it said "can't open wallet.dat/main. Close Bitcoin-Qt and try again". I must use "--otherversion" parameter? If yes - which it will be for GRC? Any help? Thank you!

But didn't helped. I got corrupted wallet.dat from current wallet and 2 wallet.dat backup files which was on another partition. I'll try again.
Also i tried pywallet with this parameters. I can't see what is wrong here..

Scanning hd for errors might have caused this problem. Try installing the backup wallet on different pc.

Tried this also - it says that wallet.dat is corrupted :\ And i figured out that i "backuped" this morning fresh wallet.dat which gridcoin created after failing to recover old wallet.dat. Also i deleted all *.bak files this morning *facepalm. So for now i have 1 backup (from 30.01), which somehow become corrupted and it still corrupted on other PCs.
Thank you for your help!

Chrome does not allow me to download the wallet for Gridcoin or any of the files on their website.

http://www.gridcoin.us/

Can some one share a download link that isn't completely blocked by Google?

Hi,

If you'll go to the chrome downloads page, you can click on the file and after confirming it'll let restart the download.

Nice chart. I think a lot of new cpu miners have joined too, last time i checked it was ~ 800. Once scrypt sleep is turned on you will see a big spike in credits from the GPU miners too.

Yep, it's 803 at the moment..I hope we can get everyone signed up for team Gridcoin in the future so we know about the real number of credits. If everyone was signed up now, our credits would easily be double or triple of what BOINC stats show.

You're right about the spike - I'm certain we will jump to TOP 50 within 1-2 weeks of scrypt-sleep running.

Wow, Impressive jump. I just hope that a majority of those are not fraudulent as has been suggested. I want to see GRC on as many exchanges as possible just like everyone else, but that's not the way to do it.

A new way to vote for an exchange:

I mentioned altswap.com a few days ago. You can buy shares for this exchange at cryptostocks.com. Once you buy shares, voting is now open until February 14th to vote on coins to be listed on the exchange. One share = one vote, but I have 90 shares and it looks like I can still only vote for GRC one time. So if you buy shares (currently at IPO price of .005) solely to bump up GRC, it looks like there's no point in buying more than one share. But you can also vote "no" to coins, so I'm thinking this will give a -1 vote ... so any crap coins that I do not care for, I'm using my remaining votes to vote no. Here's the link to vote once you buy:

https://cryptostocks.com/securities/80/voterequests

unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's a way to see how many votes each coin has.

EDIT: Sorry... it looks like you had to buy shares before the 8th according to this announcement:

https://cryptostocks.com/announcements/673

So if you were a stakeholder before then, please be sure to vote. Otherwise, it doesn't look like you can buy shares now and vote. I'm sure they will run more polls in the future, though.

EDIT (again...):

Ok, now I just read this announcement:

https://cryptostocks.com/announcements/728

So maybe you can buy shares now and vote immediately after.

I have a question.
Lets say GRC takes off to 10+$ .
What is stopping somebody from ,lets say malariacontrol institute to manipulate the credits for someone to
easily mine GRC?
Dont they have a power to just easily print money that way?

I believe that is the "bribe" function at work.  If you really want to make the top of the list - think about sending a few satoshi over there.  "Every .000125 (12,500 satoshi) BTC an address receives will count as one vote".
The BTC address to bribe for GRC is 16JfRDjQndMnohi1d6HX4HXSDv4SdHB6er

And of course, vote every day!

Yeah I noticed that too. All of the sudden a few k votes out of nowhere. Gridcoin is almost near the top of that list.

Wow. How did that huge jump happen on allcrypt? Keep it up.

donate to me then, I will make 50k votes for GRC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we paid a lot of money for that. You see we increased by  5k votes in a single day.

I hope everybody in GRC should donate to us.

please donate to me and I will distribute to others.

GRC: GAcm1qG5XAjZGh8FJ7X5jSUFBM49Kom9Et

You do realize that if they find votes to be fraudulent, they will remove the votes, right...?

I.E. from their homepage: "Over 8000 TOR votes have been removed. Don't be a douche."

***EDIT***
Unless you made donations to get those thousands of votes... In which case, please disregard my comment...

votes from different IP addresses and we are paying for the service. do you have any problems with that.

without us, GRC only have 2k votes at most.

you should donate to us to make some contributions. not blablablabla here.

do you understand that nearly all the GRC buyers are from China. Show some respect please.

I have never seen anyone except chinese donating to me! That is really a great community.

1. We are trying hard to get GRC onto btc123.com (the best exchange ) and guogao.com in CHINA. I asked donations in order to get us in the exchange.

2. We have the ANN in several chinese websites as well.

3. We have several give away threads in china.

4. We have publish several articles in Chinese IT mainstream website.

5. We have an active Chatting group now with 230 members.

You understand I am just a small miner and contribute to GRC every single day.

So far, I get 20K GRC donations for the give away and other fees (publish articles and so on, bonus for exchange and so on). All these donations are from CHINA, although they are very late miners from last month and they are also poor in GRC. But we all have great faith on GRC. Please give us some supports!!!!

I was not being respectful. There was absolutely nothing disrespectful about my comment. My comment is completely valid and there is no need for me to apologize for it.

Also, I don't know what the fact that you or anyone else being from China has to do with my comment. There was nothing related to anyone's nationality in my comment. I am the furthest thing from prejudiced that someone could ever be. I have friends from nearly every country in the world, I recognize only one race, the human race. Trying to subtly imply that I was somehow racist to you is quite rude and disrespectful.

Now, getting back to the original point of my comment:

If you are casting votes for gridcoin from behind TOR or are paying for a service that is casting thousands of votes for gridcoin from behind TOR then you ARE wrong and you are hurting Gridcoin instead of helping Gridcoin.

However, as I said in my original post, if you are legitimately voting for gridcoin from your own IP and/or you are donating to allcrypt in order to get the votes, then I said to PLEASE disregard my comment. But it sounds more and more to me like you are paying someone else to cast the votes using TOR in which case all of those votes are going to be removed and then you have hurt the image of Gridcoin.

Actually we are giving away GRCs in oder to get votes. I don't care how my group members get these votes.

the worse case is we cannot get onto allcrypt. I don't think anyway we can get accepted in any other way. I am pretty sure other top ranked coins are doing the same thing.

We are trying hard to get GRC onto btc38.com (the best exchange ) and guogao.com in CHINA. If success, we can forget about the allcrypt which is a beta website.

1. We are trying hard to get GRC onto btc38.com (the best exchange ) and guogao.com in CHINA.

I have never seen anyone donating to me! That is really a great community.

So you admit that you are paying for a service that is casting votes from behind TOR. Brilliant. And your excuse is, "They did it first"...? Brilliant.

Brilliant.

You are bad for this community, please just go away.

You are correct, NOW I am not being polite.

My contributions are self-evident through-out this thread. If you can't find them, you aren't looking hard enough.
