I tried the node in the post above, and the nodes I just quoted. I briefly had 1 connection, but then it dropped. Is there some special requirement for gridcoin that the other 70+ coins on AllCrypt.com do not need?

Would you someone be willing to clarify a few points for me? I already participate in distributed computing for Team Ripple Labs, and I want to know if switching to Gridcoin and configuring additional software for it is worth the hassle.
From what I can gather, my wallet has to participate in Scrypt mining in addition to running the distributed computing manager. Is that correct? Or do I earn Gridcoin by simply participating in the distributed computing network?

I think you should email Rob(the developer) directly: Contact@Gridcoin.us

This is a nice one. I wonder as well. Is the GPU mining mandatory or you can just CPU mine with BOINC, just like the ComputingForGood campaign?

At the moment, cpu mining is disabled whilst the core developer is fixing security issues with the reward mechanism. GPU mining is the only way to get rewarded at the moment.

But how was it before; GPU mining was mandatory? My point is; I do not have GPU power and looking for CPU only stuff. So far, BOINC/ComputingForGood/RippleLabs provided that. Just wondering if GRC is comparable to that scenario.

Ok, so unless something gets fixed we're going to have to de-list Gridcoin from AllCrypt.com
I was told the wallet was fixed and the RPC commands restored. So I installed it. Showing a wallet balance of zero - was told maybe it got corrupted. I havent even attempted to fix THAT issue, because I've had zero connections for over a week now.
So I ask what the current version is, and no answer.
So I download and install the windows version and see THAT version is NOT the version on Github. So the wallet everyone is using is not only NOT public, but exchanges are stuck on an out of date wallet, that as far as I can tell, doesn't even sync with the network.
No coin should be worth this amount of work just to get on the exchange.
We need this fixed, ASAP, or we're going to have to drop Gridcoin. I've personally wasted way too many hours on it.

Current windows version is v2.1.0.7 C-cex and Poloniex are working fine. Add that to gridcoin.conf and it should synch up, mine is working perfectly fine. addnode=www.pgp.mx I don't know what the story is on the linux version as I do not use that. Ok, so unless something gets fixed we're going to have to de-list Gridcoin from AllCrypt.com

Tried that node and every other node. Sits at 0 connections. The linux version is behind 2.1.0.7. Poloniex and the other exchange may well be using the windows wallets. God knows why if they are. I'd ask but I'm not quite sure they'd be helpful Cant hurt.

If you have an existing peers.dat file delete it, i had same issues on my rigs they would not sync unless the peers.dat file was deleted. Oh thats been done about 20x also I truly think its because this is a windows coin and the linux source is so neglected. The funky hoops you need to jump to even compile it says a ton.

Unfortunately for now it is, if it wasn't for the recent hacking incidents we would have an improved linux wallet, but this is a very complex project so for now this is what we have. Tbh, the gridcoin really needs a fork to before the hacking, or a relaunch as it shouldn't have been launched in an alpha state.

I think it was great that it was launched in alpha state. That way there is no copycats and everyone can follow and join the progress. Sorry to say but your comments are like you are some kind of god who knows every right answer for everything. We should have forked but I think it's a bit too late already. I get this feeling that you are only thinking your own good and not others.

I get this feeling that you are only thinking your own good and not others. By any chance would you be one of the people who benefitted from the 5mil+ GRC that were hacked out of the cryptocurrency itself? Making such accusations of grandeurism you appear to be opposing something that would hurt you more than everyone here. But if you generally have something against my constant asking questions/suggesting features/getting involved with the community, i'm sorry but i don't feel like sitting back and reaping the rewards off the backs of others, i'd rather get involved and help develop this crypto. Lets face it, there's only been like.. 2btc/day traded MAX on c-cex. The exchange has only had the wallet up for trade the last like 3 days, there was totally a window to reverse the issue.
