That is why I was pushing for a multipool for Gridcoin! We need one badly!

Ok. How can we obtain this multipool? what we have to do?

I think once we have switch to a new reward mechanism, have gone PoR, it should be easy since it will be way easier to run the wallet.

Have a look at the cryptocointalk forum, lots of interesting reads there. Don't lose your faith, we are improving bigtime!!

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Rob is very active on the Cryptocointalk forum: https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/464-gridcoin-grc/

yep, i know.

Sadly, i'm start to thinking that this GREAT coin is slowly dying...am i the only one? I hope so...

want to buy cheap, eh? Smiley
We could write a script to relay the postings on cryptocointalk to this board to open the discussion, maybe.

no! i want to sell at a fair price! Are you really not worried about the price?

Nope, there are good reasons for the price to be where it's at today and I don't see it at a threat to the existence of the coin.  The orderbook is a lot more stable now too.  Also there are some big changes that are coming which will help make it easier for exchanges and third party developers to support GRC.  The price will respond as these changes start to work their way through the system.

uhm...if there are good reasons, why don't you write it down?

I remember when the cpu's mining gridcoin network was hacked and rob needed to stop it. The price went down, but i though..this is normal, when people can mining with their cpu again price will rice again.

Instead, now the price i sooooo low. I'm worried!
I did:

https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/9794-marketing-and-promotions/?p=109906

And a little more here:

https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/?p=115134

The order book keeps getting smaller on the sell side and it keeps growing on the buy side, its been 11-12 BTC for a couple weeks and recovers nicely every time someone dumps another 50-100 thousand GRC.  When the wallet is easy for exchanges to add (this is the holdup on the multi-pool btw) and when inflation drops from the current >100% per year to something more in line with 10% per year with the Proof of Research (PoS hybrid) we will see price appreciation.  We will also see an increase in BOINC contribution as we only have 50% going to BOINC with the rest going to hashing currently, that ratio will be closer to 99.99% going to BOINC with the switch.  The test wallet is super easy to setup by comparison with the current production wallet and has cross compatibility making it more accessible to more users.  BOINC contributions will rise and more contributions will more result in more attention, more attention will bring more contributors and there will be a positive feedback for network growth.  Higher volume exchanges will support GRC, lazy GPU miners will be able to multi-pool and provide price pressure, the dumping from miners will slow, price will rise, all this goes into the positive feedback loop.  Not to mention that once the wallet is stable real development can be made on projects that make GRC useful for people outside of crypto, like a commercial BOINC project that uses GRC for a payment method for access to the network.

Nice post, RTMoney. I like all your points but this one in particular:

Not to mention that once the wallet is stable real development can be made on projects that make GRC useful for people outside of crypto, like a commercial BOINC project that uses GRC for a payment method for access to the network.

It's been a great project so far. It seems the best is yet to come.

https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/13785-por-proof-of-research/

Its basically a new form of PoS, where you will earn GRC based on your BOINC contribution, and maybe some if you don"t contribute (being discussed still).

I wasn't too convinced by POS hybrid, but now I think I am starting to favor it! And yes Rtmoney's post definitely helps, LOL!

I love the "vintage hacker" visual style of the wallet, no other cryptocurrency wallet looks like that. I hope this won't change too much  Smiley

Windows 7. I tried deleting everything in appdata/roaming aside from my conf and wallet. I left it over night with 10 connections and it's still 42 weeks behind just like it was when I started it
