The most important aspect of Nxt is that the security of the network cannot be forcefully taken away from the people.  This should be a key point in any information about Nxt.

haha best of the day! Let stick to 1 NXT = 1 VOTE. That is the simpler approach and it seem fair to begin with.

+1, 1 Nxt = 1 Vote, it's the only way to do it in a POS currency.

agreed. if you want to achieve the sort of voting functionality that 1 nxt 1 vote isnt very good for than 1 solved captcha 1 vote will usually work pretty well for those situations.

What about this:
1 nxt = 1 voice. If you want to have more voice, you pay for every extra voice 1 fee

Ignore the sock puppet accounts.

He said he was behind by 3 days, so realistically, we'd see the client by the end of this week.

I recommend designing some Nxt Polos or Long Sleeves for future conferences. The Bitshares and Ethereum crew really stood out when they walked around the conference.

Left a similar note on nextcoin.org.  A uniform is a nice and economical way to advertise.  I know we have some excellent graphic designers amongst us.  Once it's decided that we will wear a NXT uniform in future events and art works are rendered, I can go to the promotional product print shop for that my friend owns for a discount AND I will take care of the cost of buying and printing between 12-16 polos/T-shirts.

I'm not a programmer and a lousy graphic designer with electrical engineering background.  The best I can do for this community besides being more vocal is contribute a little bit financially.

Let me know guys.

Great idea. Don't think we need to overthink this -- Nxt logo over the breast pocket area (polo), big ass logo on a t-shirt. No design experience necessary, keep it simple for the printer (and ask if he needs the logo as a vector).

Maybe for something like a cycling jersey, etc, yeah, call in the designers. Simple stuff like polos and tees I think most/all of us here know what's attractive. I'd say go for it.

Playing devil's advocate with myself (I'm an INTP), I think there is a place for something like this:

http://bitcoinpride.com

Maybe not so much for conference ambassadors ('corporate' types), but maybe more along the lines of street teams, end users, etc.

"reliable voting mechanism"  ... do you mean a reliable implementation,
not this current question about "1 vote = 1 NXT, or 1 vote = 1 acc, or 1 vote = f( NXT, acc, ...)" discussion?

I mean the system that makes it very hard or impossible to cheat.

revision 2 (tell me if im getting closer)

Quote
Ready for whats next? Written from the ground up with brand new source code, nxt is the first truely second generation crypto. By melding short term predictibility with longer term uncertanty, nxt's 100% proof of stake security model opens the flood gates for a torrent of breakthrough innovations. The ability to predict future forging nodes allows forgers to build trust within the community. This trust can be leveraged by merchants to acheve instantly secure transactions or by customers to acheve visa level transaction volumes via transaction clearing performed by forgers before recording transactions in the blockchain. Nxt's 100% proof of stake security model eliminates many of the costs associated with blockchain security that are, with bitcoin, presently born by the savers in the form of inflation. Finally, unlike bitcoin with its limited time block subsidy, there is no arbitrarily selected date far off in the future where nxt's security model will be put to the final test, if nxt works now, it will work always.

Here's my take:

Ready for what's NXT? Written from the ground up, NXT is the first true second generation crypto. NXT's unique 100% Proof of Stake security model provides a platform for breakthrough and disruptive innovations. One of these innovations is known as Transparent Forging. With Transparent Forging, the network is capable of achieving instantly-secure transactions at Visa-level transaction volumes. Additionally, NXT's 100% Proof of Stake model completely eliminates the threat of a 51% percent attack, and does away with the enormous electrical and inflationary costs of blockchain security. With all of it's promised features, NXT provides the best and most secure foundation for users and businesses alike. NXT, the Next Generation of Cryptocurrency.

The 1 minute speech should be tested to some people, which are not familiar to NXT.
Then would be also found, if the "next" (NXT), or even "nexts" (NXT's), causes extra wondering in the heard speech Wink

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I talk about it I call it N.X.T., not "Next". This alleviates any confusion in the language.
agree,that is always N x t, not other anything.

It sounds like an acronym then (in the soundcloud example it was pronounced like "next").
Acronyms cause questions:
A tells to B about "en ex tii".
B asks: what those 3 letters mean?
A: it is from "next cryptocurrency"
B: so "en ex tii" means "next"?
A: well, ... yes
B: why don't u pronounce it "next"?
A: ...

I doubt jean-luc reads the bitcoin magazine, much more likely people like him listen to LTB.

James

We could do both!   Wink
And we will! (but mostly we will focus on Facebooks etc)
But when? When we will have awesome infographics.
When will we have awesome infographics?
When we will have awesome articles with important data we need to know.
How can we get those articles?
You can start here!

Bounty on a new topic:

It would be nice if anyone wrote about: - Nxt and its Decentralized P2P exchanges with mixing services = totally untraceable, anonymous and uncontrolled by any government.
- the sooner the better Smiley

Help Nxt by writing Articles

Is here anyone, who would write excellent and long articles about:

- Why is pure Proof of Stake in Nxt best solution for cryptocurrencies?

- How can you mine Nxt only with solar energy?

- How could decentralized exchanges change the world? (no Government, no censorship, USA, China...) - + decentralized messaging, DNS

- The 51% Attack - technical details, history of 51% attacks, how it ended, Nxt solution (is Nxt safer than other PoS currencies?) (Ghash's pool is risking Bitcoin's security again with 40% of the network's hashpower and no one is talking about it. Pools of PoW machines with enormous hashpower is Bitcoin's most pressing concern and biggest flaw right now. Nextcoin is the best answer to this. Why is it not being talked about more?)

- Nxt: gaming friendly currency (vs. Litecoin, a graphic cards killer) - Due to Litecoin's difficulty skyrocketing there is a global shortage of Graphic Cards, which piss off gamers tremendously and drive up the price for grahics cards. NXT solves this. (Uniqueorn's idea, maybe reserved for him..?)

- Nxt + Raspberry (+other similar platforms (Cubietruck)) (can be different articles, also short articles) (0 energy  forging package)

- Transparent Forging (very very technical, history of mining, comparisons)

You can make reservations on these articles.

Shorter articles/essays:

- Why should you invest in Nxt? (/Why should you invest in Nxt long term?)

- Why is Nxt so friendly currency?: (i) It *doesn't* have VC capital backing. ii) It *doesn't* have "slick sales guys*. iii) It *does* have smart devs and an increasing following.  iv) It *is* delivering its promises (more or less) on time.) - more about the community, people form all over the world, community funding, decentralized company - a world of free individuals who all believe in Nxt. 1200 pages in Bitcointalk

Future (short) articles: (now it's to soon):

- Who accepts Nxt as a payment? (+ fee in Nxt vs. Bitcoin vs. fiat (VISA))
- Nxt invites altcoins to host on it's blockchain
- Can be a new internet stored on Nxt's blockchain / DNS system?

Have you got any idea about some other article? Share it. We would love to have more scientific articles, financial, economical, IT...

1 NXT = 1 VOTE is the cleanest soluation. Not sure why people doubt that. All other approaches with account caps (e.g. one account can have a maximum of x votes) can be manipulated by creating mulitple accounts. And the more complicated it gets, the more are people discouraged to vote in the first place.

And of course small account holders will criticize this approach and thats totally natural, but i have a only a few nxt too and still think that people who invested in the project in the first place should have a bigger saying.

WHY ARE PEOPLE OPPOSE TO THIS.....WE HAVE ALREADY SET THE MARKETING BUDGET AT 3 MILLION.....lets use some for PRINT ADDS & RADIO SPOTS TILL APRIL.

Would you people stop speaking in caps? What is it, a teenage girls chat room?

I personally don't read any posts with this kind of text.

You want to emphasize something, use italic.

good video,
some watchers may still be interested in the numbers and ask for the proofs: could there be also a link to those calculations.
Or is it better that now is only raised some questions ...
